You got to hand it to The Colonel, he has to be the greatest manager of all time, 65 years after Colonel signed Elvis he's still at the top in 2022, the new Elvis movie has made a fortune for Elvis' estate, The Colonel probably made some mistakes but on average he got it right, he had a once in a generation talent to work with, I can only think of Micheal Jackson to have come anywhere close to Elvis, MJ didn't do around 30 motion pictures though, he only did 1 bad movie.

If you saw the movie, Vernon was nothing like that and no one could tell Elvis what to do. We all want to think that Elvis could have been saved but no one person could have prevented his death.
They all knew it, but what can you do? He took pills for fun sometimes...then he had health issues and then he HAD to take pills and it snowballed downhill. It was a combination of things for Elvis.
