Hi Matt, thank you for your videos so far. Ive learned a lot from your videos in the past, especially from the company tipps videos. Even i am not into ballpythons (more of a Hognose Snake Girl) i can totally relate to them and still can use them for my future in breeding Snakes on a bigger scale. Thank you for your passion and time. I love your sarcasm and jokes in the videos too :D Sorry for my typos and such, i am from Europe and my english isnt the best, since its not my mothers tongue.
Keep it up! Best greetings from switzerland (formerly from Austria)

Why not just use Reptile Scan or Husbandry Pro?

Honestly, hand written never goes away. I don't have to pull a phone out to look, it is just easier on feeds not to.
Also, I like the spreadsheet, for me it is easy. For some, an app may be easier. Only way I would use an app is if it is designed around certain features that I would want that my paper actually helps with that the app misses, which would be a safety issue for the animals.

I know he answered, but I have a collection of 60 balls and prefer paper and pencil over phone or computer. I used one of those reptile apps before. It takes 1 full minute to add info for one snake to an app, it takes about 3 seconds to write down. My size of collection, that’s an entire hour of just messing around on an app. As supposed to the 3 full minutes of writing. Because mind you, we are busy when we are adding this info to stuff. It’s already taking an hour plus feeding, watering, cleaning, etc. Plus, what if the app crashes and stuff doesn’t save? Or you get a new phone and don’t remember the password? Or even just having a little typo can be a big deal. If a ball python ovulated 1-12-23 and you accidentally put 1-22-23,, that’s a big deal!! That’s not gonna happen with pen and paper. I also had issues sharing the info with my partner. It’s just easier to leave it in the filing cabinet so my partner can get the info they need, and fast, without my help.
