Bessarabia/rep Moldova could not unite with Romania at the time becaise it was occupied by the Russians) rep Moldova is a soviet off shoot state created in Transnistria during the interwar period to claim the historical Moldavia from Romania. this is the old Russian tactic of divide and conquer. "see? we have Moldova here. Romanians and Moldavians are differrent latin people. they would do better as a soviet state" but the ones in Bessarabia/rep Moldova that publicly disibeyed the soviets got killed or deported to Siberia. and people wonder why we hate Russia.
