Awesome video I really like watching your launch videos but also your rocket builds I look forward to the launching of the Mean Machine. Thank you for making these videos
Thank you sir! I appreciate you watching and supporting! Lord willing and the winds stay calm, I’ll get to fly it next week. It will be a special “Launch Day” for sure!
Fantastic build Kevin! Thanks for the shout outs! So did the decal solvaset flatten out your decals? Can't wait to see it fly. I think when I do mine, since it's an older version of the kit (sans coupler), I'll have it break at the half way point. No shock cord so it will come down separately on 2 chutes.
Don, Thanks for the kind words! I like your idea and I'm sure I can even attempt that with mine, using separate chutes. As you can see, there is PLENTY of room in the tubes for all sorts of parachute combinations!
Quite a build! I can see why it took so long. Getting the tubes aligned is critical to good flying - I think the packing peanuts made all the difference. 😁 Looking forward to seeing it blast into the sky. I heard the 24mm screw-on retainers were designed for a thick wall tube which is why they are loose on a standard BT-50. I used the black hook retainer ring tube to snug mine up on my up-engined Nike Smoke. Thanks for another quality video.
Hey JC, thanks for the comments! I was honored to have you with me for it's maiden voyage! It was a thrill to say the least. Thank you for clarifying to me that loose retainer ring issue...... I was really scratching my head on that one. Interesting how Estes does that, but like you pointed out, us modelers know how to adapt and overcome with our own solutions!
That's a mean lookin' machine right there!
And it flies even meaner. It's one of my favorites!
