Recording phone calls I have been doing for a while and it’s actually a inhouse option that doesn’t notify the other person. If you put your phone on speaker and hit screen record you can actually have their contact info on display while having a recording.
Suggestion for a video that I'd find super useful - how do you keep your shortcuts organised, and how do you plan them generally? Do you keep notes else where including 'progress' and 'status'? I find after 50 or so shortcuts I just get lost and loose interest in working on them.
I'll work on that! I have a lot of folders, basically. And for the ones I use most often, I have 4-Shortcut widgets in the "today" screen to the left of the Home Screen.

Biggest camera update (I think you didn't mention): be able to pause video while recording. I switched to iPhone from Android 2 years ago (after 12 years of Android). I always wondered why we couldn't pause videos while recording 😮
Toggle in shortcuts? This might just be the best new feature in iOS18! The complicated workaround always had a slight delay in responding. Great video as always, keep up the great work.

When I want to send my husband a text, I start with hey Siri and I tell her what I want to say to him, tried setting up a vocal shortcut, but it only opens the messaging app. It doesn’t record what I wanna say like it does when I first say hey Siri
The call recording is great but seems limited to only the iPhone. Why not iPad too? My mother takes a lot of her calls only on the iPad even though it’s connected to her iPhone My 88-year-old mother could really benefit from that as all of her kids can when she makes calls or takes calls regarding medical issues so the call can be recorded and shared with all of us and notes can be taken on the particular call. I know a notes recording can be started, so a little bit more challenging for my mother she can put the phone on speaker then take notes on the iPad. Remember to press record, When in a treatment or more hospital, this is very helpful when a medical provider is in a treatment room or hospital room. We can take notes and then share the recording. If there is confusion about what was said. Something I hope my mother would do if we’re not in the hospital room that way we can listen to what the doctor said, and she doesn’t have to tell us. Really a game changer for tracking and elderly parents medical info
I was/am on the developer mode, I didn't get the official update since the build # I have is 22A3354 right? Do I turn now off the Beta updates and go ahead and perform my first official iOS backup as a regular/normal iOS user?
@@beardfm Yes, and the timer shows this not only in Dynamic Island, but also in the Timer app itself. They could have at least made a temporary pop-up notification when the alarm is activated. It's already good. But I would like it to be displayed permanently, so that at any moment you look at the alarm, it will be clear how much is left.

In the video you say the shareplay control works iphone to iphone or ipad to ipad but I was curious if there is some play between them? Like I understand not being able to control the ipad from an iphone but I can't find anything on controlling an iphone from an ipad and also wondering about my main use case. I'd be using my Mac to try and control my mother's ipad or perhaps iphone since I don't have an ipad.
I just tried Mac to iPhone, Sequoia to iOS 18 and it allows you to share but not markup or control. I hope this comes in a future update, but for now it's just device specific for markup and control.
Stephen, the lock and hide apps effects automations. I locked my iMessages app, and now it won't send the text message in the short cut I created, because it says I have to require face ID before it will send the text. Can you figure out a workaround? I have it shortcut set to text my husband at a certain time every day, but the action requires Face ID to unlock it.

Quick question, in the control center, the “Connectivity” panel I'd like to change the order of quick accesses, currently it's: Airplane Mode, Airdrop and Wi-fi but I'd like to remove Airplane Mode and Airdrop to replace them with Cellular Data and Bluetooth. Does anyone know how to do this ? Because I haven't figured out how to make the change.

Two things I'm not a fan of in the update: 1. Selecting 'Large' app icons on the home screen also affects the App Library, so you lose the App names in the App Library. 2. The Safari 'Suggestions' are no longer favicon, but instead oversized tiles that flow past the edge of the screen, I wish you could select favicons instead.
@@GT-ho6co yesterday I found out that the filter only applies to new screenshots. That is screenshots that I took after installing iOS18. Strangely now the bug is gone. All screenshots are hidden when I unchecked it on the view option.
Automation request 🙏🏼 Please could you make a tutorial on this in your coming video or just tell a step-by-step method in the comments only In Driving Focus there is an option to auto send a preset message to the person who has messaged you while you're in the Driving Focus mode while driving the car to avoid distractions but the limitation is that it only works with iMessage. So, I was thinking could help in creating an automation that will send the same sort of preset message whenever receive any message from a contact on WhatsApp while my Driving focus is enabled. Why WhatsApp? Because here in India everybody uses WhatsApp as their primary app/mode of communication Do consider this one in your coming video, please!!

Are you on iOS 18 and iPhone 12 or newer? I don't think there's a setting to enable actually, should be available by default on that phone and OS

That's unfortunate. I don't see a workaround at the moment, hopefully they'll change that behavior in a future update.

Unfortunately, you can't have a shortcut run automatically when someone sends you a WhatsApp, so that would not be possible I believe.
