    As a man if you don't have a woman in your life who truly loves you and looks up to you, life will get mundane. Even if you're an ambitious guy in even if you go and sleep with a bunch of women that will also eventually get boring. Its not about having someone to complete you, it's simply the biological imperative of a man.

    After achieving my real estate goals i have realized that the important things are the pleasure in small things, a walk in nature, eating your favorite food at home, sleeping well and be grateful i am alive and healthy, flamboyant eccentric feelings wears off fast. I won't be able to take my houses with me when I die...

    Hey Steven, as others have already said. Having kids will give you a different level of fulfillment. You've already achieved financial success, but once you have children, you'll feel like every day has a purpose. Monica and I didn't want to have any more children after we had our first daughter because she was putting us through so much as a teenager but we needed up getting pregnant again and had our son when our daughter was 15. Every day that he is around is a special day for us. I don't think anyone really understands this feeling until they actually have a child of their own. So, get to it man, you don't want to be in your late 40s or early 50s when you have your first child.

    You are waiting too long to have kids especially with this kind of net worth. Once you have kids, you will never be bored again.

    I watched your entire video entitled “I achieved my net worth goal. Now I am bored”, and maybe I missed it, but I never heard you state what your net worth goal actually was. I listened to you talk about the boredom you feel about having achieved professional success, financial success, and real estate related success, and how after you reached the peak of your learning curve in each endeavor, you had an “I’m bored, now what?“ sensation, but I never really heard you articulate any actual goals. Let’s stick with your net worth goal, since that is ostensibly the subject of this video. Do whatever everybody else does. Once you achieve a goal that you never thought you could achieve, raise the bar, elevate the goal, and strive for that. Although you didn’t say this explicitly, if your net worth goal was $6.2 million, and you achieved it in what appears to be your early to mid 30s, then you underestimated yourself and set your goal to low. Make your goal $60 million instead of $6 million and strive for that, you are clearly on the right path. Just keep doing more of what you’re doing and see how quickly you can get to 60M.
    Regarding children, with the habits thatyou’ve developed, and the path that you’re on, affording children will not be much of a challenge. If you want a challenge, then when your children arrive, quit your job and devote your full-time and attention to raising them up to being high functioning, contributing members of society. We are put on this earth to reproduce, so throw yourself into child rearing and you may find yourself experiencing the most fulfilling endeavor of your life. My kids are now young adults and if I could’ve afforded to quit my job when they were young and devote 100% of my time to teaching them, exposing them to enriching experiences, and raising them up, I would’ve gleefully done so.
    To address your point more directly, yes, I’m sure you actually are bored. You have attained many unachievable goals at an early age and it is because of your skills, your intellect, your focus, and your self-discipline that you have achieved them . The problem is that you achieved them more easily than you ever thought you would or could. Now, in retrospect, it all feels so easy. I suspect the reason it all feels so easy and that you feel so bored is that you did not set your goals high enough. While most people will never achieve a fraction of what you have achieved, you clearly have unique abilities and skills, so to live a fulfilling life, you have to raise the bar, elevate your goals, and challenge yourself to do things that you think are not possible. The fun and excitement will come from discovering that they are possible.

      Thanks for sharing your wisdom! My net worth is around 6.2 million and I probably did aim too low in retrospect. 6 million felt impossible when initially setting it, but as my skills/knowledge compounded, I achieved it much easier than originally anticipated. Time to aim higher without burning myself out along the way.

    In my opinion this is kind of a side effect of having financial stability/success. A lot of people reach this part in life but it usually happens later in life. When you a older you probably don`t feel like doing much anyways so its little easier to just relax most days. Getting there when you are this young can amplify the boredom part. It reminds me of Mark Cuban when he retired at 30 and then un-retired few years later because he was bored. You have to really enjoy doing nothing to retire at such a young age or have huge life long hobbies of some type. In terms of having kids its a series of joy, fulfillment, stress, unhappiness, and massive lack of time. It will definitely make your life more interesting but make sure to have them for the right reasons. People in the comment section telling you to have kids because you are bored is just bad advice. Don`t forget being bored is actually good for you according to research.

    Don’t wait for kids. A) You won’t know if either of you will have issues with fertility. B) the earlier you have kids the earlier you will have freedom and independence later in life C) the joys of having kids will completely change your perspectives on life. D) every year you get older it becomes harder to become a new parent. Have them while you are young and you can fully enjoy and keep up with them.

    What I would tell you not to do is join law enforcement, reserve or active. It's so much BS, it'll change your entire perception on humanity. This is coming from personal experience as an active LE officer. I'm currently in the Army Reserve right now, and feel very satisfied. Like you, I built a very good nest egg, I have multiple rental properties in the Barstow and Antelope Valley areas.

    Hi Steven! Ran across your channel. You and I have had very similar journeys except I'm in tech. One thing that I've done that has been really helpful is to take a mini-retirement every 4-5 yrs.. yes, very un-Asian of me 😆. I take 3-6 months off to do completely different things and usually in a completely different country. This gives me space to think and reflect and also just try new things and reach goals I've set for myself. It takes a bit of courage to make the leap but maybe you can give that a try. Mini-retirement #4 is coming up soon for me!

      Thanks for sharing ! I've considered that but have golden handcuffs of a good job in a good location which may be my limiting belief. I have considered doing contract jobs for 6 to 12 months then take time off after before the next contract.

    • @ljli
      @ljli 2 дня назад +1

      I def understand how difficult it is to throw off the golden handcuffs ..esp so, when you grow up in a poor immigrant family. Huge emphasis on money and security. It's something I've been working to shed for the last 20 yrs. We all know this but there's a huge diminishing return on the next dollar after you reach a certain amt of $. Time though becomes more scarce. I've loved my breaks and oddly enough, I've made even more money after each hiatus. From your track record, you're someone that can achieve whatever it is he wants. If you took time off, you'd come back and continue right where you left off or maybe even level up.

    Stephen, you might consider taking time to travel and spend time with your fiancé before the kids get here. Once they’re here they will go to school and stability and your time and freedom may be limited. Once their kids are grown you may have elder care responsibilities ….
    Maybe look at a global real estate investor and now may be a good time to travel and invest if you’re bored ….
