When I decided to go with Talons the biggest deciding factor was how deep they went. At the lake I fish the most I don't think 8' would even work for me at the ramp. I needed a minimum 10' so I went with the 12s. Being that I was installing them myself was also an influence. The Talons are very easy for the DYI guy to install. I have had zero problems with mine and would most likely put them on my next boat.
I have 2 Power poles series 2 and the reason i got those was they are lighter than the blades I did how ever had a leak in one of the lines Power Pole did replace the lines no questions asked, what ever works for you yes I have to drop mine before I move my boat and when I go under some lower bridges and you better lower them. thank you TJ
I run the power poles. Have to have that ability to angle them down when going under things like small bridges that connect 2 areas of a lake and getting under over hanging trees etc etc
Thanks for the review brother. I am doing research for my next boat which I hope to get for next season. Would love a one year review of your Crestliner to hear what your feelings are now, changes you would have or plan to make. .
Brother I just got Power Poles last week so I can use the Drift Paddles... BRUHHHHHHHH it's sooooo Bitter Sweet... Talons are better anchoring. Sorry. My 12Ft Talons Locked you in place like MONEY & gave me more flexibility to fish deeper for Crappie, along with going straight down. However, the Drift Paddles make me use the Power Poles more than the Talons. I love the Straight Down feature of Talon vs the extending the legs of Power Poles. This is really bitter Sweet. Because I can fish Crappie in 11 foot of less & lock with Talon. For Locking at the boat Ramp I like the Power Poles because they extend out deeper on the boat ramp. Again if Talons had Drift Paddles I would never have Power Poles but Power Poles are good. This describes my feelings
There’s a reason Minnkota came out with the raptors once the PP patent was up..They we’re getting their ass kicked in that market space..PPs are a far superior design and PPs customer service is incredible.. With PP you can run paddles which is killer for drift fishing..
@@TackleJunky81 On my old boat I run 24v trolling motor. I only have room for two batteries. One has the starter and the other electronics, anchor mates, lights, horn, ect. At my age, this is more than enough but young guys fishing all day, a third battery would be very beneficial. Talons allow that and even running two batteries probably wouldn't give you enough room. It's a wonder bass boats aren't 25". All about space.
@@TackleJunky81 yes you would. Thought for a minute, maybe they use the same size rear deck parts as longer boats but it's not like they make thousands of units. Not that you will benefit but maybe they will receive enough feedback to change. In the long run I think you got it right for sure. Tight lines.
@@TackleJunky81 well to me you didn’t and you did a perfect review on both. Don’t let others bother you dude. Do what Tacklejunkie wants to do. It’s your boat. If you do the research and like the end result then that is all that matters. It’s their opinion and we all know about opinions lol
@@leatherstockingangler9046 Appreciate you brother! I don't let the clowns get to me...if they really knew anything about the products and how and where I fish then they would know a spot lock trolling motor is useless to me. Really appreciate the continued support brother! 👊

Great points Jeff! Appreciate you watching brother! 👊💪
I’ve had my Gen2 10’ Talons since 2015 and have loved them! No pumps, fluid or bushings to mess with. To each their own.
Yes sir!! 👊💪
Kayak guy so this doesn't effect me. Just watched it to give support to my favorite fishing channel 👊💪
Appreciate you brother! 👊💪

Yes sir, Power Pole customer service is excellent and they definitely have a great product as well. Appreciate you stopping by brother! 👊
I have a set of 10’ Talon’s. Absolutely love them. No pumps!
👊💪
Glad to see your on the water again with your boat. Thanks for the info!
Thank you brother...truly appreciate the continued support! 👊💪
Yes the pumps are hell!! Have 2 poles on my tx 195 and it drove me crazy to find a spot to mount the pumps!
You would think they would start making the battery compartments a tad bigger. 🤷♂️
Great to see you got them fixed I’m thinking about getting the same set up
Yes sir! I love them!
I bought the talon after your video easier to install and with a title bracket very easy to put in garage thanks again for your help
My pleasure buddy! 👊
I had a friend with a crest liner and he had the same issue with there not being room for pumps.
Pretty common issue with many boats unfortunately.
Well being that MinnKota discontinue Talons I'd say that's a power pole got the w

Yes sir, that's why I added the tilt brackets to my Talons.

Right on brother! 👊
Awesome video its good to know about the comparison between the Power Pole and Talons before purchasing
🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thank you brother! 👊💪
I would rather have spotlock but this is a personal choice and the lakes we fish
Yes sir, I just have no use for one on the lakes I fish.

Yeah, I liked my PP, but still prefer the Talons as long as they work, lol
@@TackleJunky81 I bought 2 8 ft raptors 2 months ago absolutely love them, better and beefier than PP
Does your setup with the MK Talon Brackets and the MK Talons slow your performance or speed of your motor?
Thanks for info. I’m shopping anchors. Good video.
Appreciate you watching! 👊
Gotta be a reason minnkota released the raptors... I love my blades!
👊💪
Spot lock is awesome
Yes sir, but I have no use for one on the lakes I fish.
I fish mostly strip pits with steep edges but the other feature is autopilot running along the edges without messing w the trollingmotor
great comparison discussion
Thank you brother! 👊
What length are those?
Do mounting holes correspond between power poles and talons? I’m running an Allison xb 21
I have two 10 foot poles and they are a mess, as much as I love them
I honestly don't know.
No need time cut the vid short. Just fish & talk at the same time! I always do it😂👊
🤣🤣🤣
My lake has so little wood and no real points that I would hardly ever use either. Couldn't afford them anyway.
Appreciate you watching buddy! 👊

All shallow water anchors will have problems
Strictly a bank fisherman, watched just in case.
Appreciate you! 👊
Good video
Thank you Steve! 👊
Spot lock solves all of this.
I personally wouldn't want spot lock in shallow water.
@@TackleJunky81 Good point.
👊👍🔥🎣

I dont care about looking kool. Just want to see it in action please
Talons for the win! No pumps, not hydraulic fluid/lines - easy peasy.
👊💪
Talons for the LOSS. They suck. Loud and clunky, too.
Hey brother I wouldn’t have called it. Did I make a mistake. You just did a comparison review
Well guys like to constantly tell me I made a mistake by not getting a spot lock trolling motor over Talons, so I thought it was fitting.
