Yes Miles, amen. God has promised us so many times in His Word that prayer changes things.

This is a good topic. If Jesus taught the disciples to pray, and demonstrated we ought, then there is good merit in praying. I recently did a "short" on this, that if there is sin in our life we know of, and continue to pray, if we ask amiss or on selfish things far outside the will of God, then - it is a waste of time. Jesus taught us how we should pray. Can't wait to hear the rest of this message past the opening, getting my coffee.

Like a couple soulful house mixes and RUclips feeds me this video. I'll save everyone the trouble -- prayer doesn't matter because nothing's listening.

This is interesting because I have always said Hezekiah would have been better off not praying for the Lord to grant him an extra 15 yrs. Had he not, he would have died in peace, not made the mistake of pridefully showing off the treasury of God, later off carted away by pagans, and would have been remembered for his upright desire to do as God wished. To be absent from the body, God was doing him a favor of mercy. Sometimes we pray and have little idea, it is not in our best good. God ultimately is the Father who knows best.

LOL - how true - Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Star Trek, and all the re-makes, by now from back then we would have thought Rocky 98 would have come out. Hollywood and its overpaid actors are so tiring yet suckering people to shell out their hard-earned money on the same old weak uncreative plots. Like Ali and the rope-a-dope. Although an 80 ft. T-Rex may have been formidable, I never met one, so I cannot comment on how still I would have been wetting my tunic, or how fast I would have tried to run, after all T-Rex's have very short arms. I agree w pastor Miles, the Assyrians posed a more greater and PRESENT DANGER.

It's simple really. If you pray and your prayers are answered, then obviously prayer works. If nothing happens, then you just have to remember that God works in mysterious ways.

Also important to remember that sometimes (perhaps many times) God answers “no” or “wait” … so what we’ve prayed for does not come to pass.
