    I like that Frontier is paying attention to the community. They surely know Powerplay is the farthest thing from players minds in things we want added, fixed and improved.

      Perhaps folks should give them the credit for looking forward, instead of constantly grousing about the past.
      Yes, PP is little used atm, and could use an polishing so maybe cmders will use it more -- ENHANCING THE OVERALL GAME.
      I welcome and am thankful any efforts FDEV put into the game.

      Actually there is a fair portion of ED players that are hard core dedicated to Powerplay and they've been asking for changes for years. The fact that you don't do it or don't care about it, doesn't mean that it's true for everyone.

    For me, Elite Dangerous has NEVER been a game about pvp. It's just a pve, cooperative game with some sort of asynchronous multiplayer like Death Stranding. Where people do things in their sessions and it shows up or affects other people. And I can see that by buying a ship for a donation I get even more content, at least some Frontiers movement. So for me the donated ships have only made the game better so far, I can already see the power play 2. I already see more new ships and I'm willing to buy them if I see further content advancements. I, feel sorry for those who like pvp but it seems there is some kind of arena mode for them.

    • @dom-ct6ie
      @dom-ct6ie 9 дней назад

      disagree. real complexity in flight mechanics and techniques is more present in pvp battles. fighting other real players will never be the same as cooperative fighting against ai. Elite is a vast game, it should include both of these activities and more

    • @the4thj
      @the4thj 9 дней назад +1

      I honestly agree with you, but I have had this game since 2014 there is a player match it's "Arena" but no one uses it. I bought the Type 8 I really don't want to spend more money, the game is 40 years old, and it is the´ most complete space game out there, but seemingly missing a way to walk around inside your own awesome ship. I like the PVE but there is not a real way to share the trade materials with your friend so, it kinda forces a person to farm on their own. My friends countless times all want to do the Gaurdian sites together and never load up on the mats they need vs, and when I go alone it takes 3 hours or more to load up full. While their still not even close after a day working at it. I even have time to experiment with shooting Sentenols with my sniper rifle! lol

  • @hisgreasiness

    The factions should reflect different playstyles. The more you rank up in any of them, should result in shared upgraded modules that all the factions share, somewhat like licensing for military grade weaponry and technology. However, once aligned with a pirating faction for example, you can't obtain exotic armor or shields that the big military factions people focused on combat may join to access, but pirates can get hacking programs to open cargo hatches, cool running modules preventing detection or weapon auto lock, and scan blockers to hide illicit cargo and falsify identity, preventing bounties.
    Even science, tech or purely corporate faction could offer upgrades to scanning multiple star systems from a given radius around a system, flagging systems for particular elements, lifeforms or licensed research facilities.
    They should create limited faction slots on ships, so nobody can run with all the various upgrades at a time but limiting ship captains to installing only those beneficial upgrades to the current ship function they are filling.

    • @hisgreasiness
      @hisgreasiness 8 дней назад

      Call it a specialty 1 slot, drawing less power compared to a specialty 2 slot. Small ships can handle just the smaller slot without issue, but can feasibly run a Slot 2 alone, if they make sacrifices for the power consumption or weight.
      Big ships can run both at the same time but even they would be impacted by the weight and power draw of running with both slots.

    • @hisgreasiness
      @hisgreasiness 8 дней назад

      It shouldn't be a matter of mitigating boring hours of grind. It should be a judgement of what is needed to help you in your task, while eliminating the things you don't need for a given task.
      It feels to me that the devs allowed ridiculous capabilities gained by engineering in an attempt to garner more player hours. That seemed to be a necessary metric for shareholders seeing maintained levels of high player engagement via hours logged in an older game.
      I'd argue player numbers would've stayed up had the activity been more fun rather than time-consuming, given the niche genre the game covers.

    • @hisgreasiness
      @hisgreasiness 8 дней назад

      Lastly, I think they should revamp the ships, eliminate certain older ships from purchasable ships for new players, allow OG Cmdrs to have and keep "legacy" ships with locked in stats/capabilities from engineered modules that'll no longer be available for new players to create. Allow players to gift legacy components and/or entire ships to others. Those ships would have all the same spec legacy components available in the event of an insurance replacement claim but at a 200% increase in price and the base models would no longer be available for purchase in shipyards.

    Players will again be able to hide when powerplaying in solo mode. Instead of pitting players against each other, which is what powerplay should exist for, it will continue to be the zone of total safety for players. Elite becoming less and less dangerous.

      Hopefully, this is where the "Power Police" come in to play. Maybe they will act as a kind of hitman or enforcer for the various powers, so when you mess around, you find out. That could help take the place of opposing players. Basically, just use an internal wanted level for powers or factions only, not for the general security ships buzzing around. You still gotta look over your shoulder when you are in the wrong neighborhood- especially if your power is really fighting with the one your flying in. That could be a multiplier.

      I doubt Powerplay PvP is going to be anywhere near as big as the Goid War. And PP2 comes in while there will still be at least one Titan and it's controlled systems. So a de facto Goid Power on the map.
