I'm Not crying easily, but i have to say that i do shet some tears.
Very powerful song that describes the horrors and pain of war. I recommend checking out the German version i personally think that the Sing with Gesche and the Sing with Karl versions are best

You’ve gotta change the lyrics to make it rhyme
They changed the lyrics to be more general and not just for Germany since they took out mention of the French or Russians and they say glorious lord instead of emperor. There is another english version on the channel that is probably the one you're thinking of.
This man can sing like how a an expert can use a violin, its extremely beautiful!

This version sounds a lot more natural than the other English version. I think taking our references to specific references to nationalities which could be deemed offensive makes it far more palatable to the English taste. And the tone, and the word choice and subtle modifications of the grammar structures all make the song flow more naturally.

By far this is one of my favorites,wish it was in German but the voice sounds like he knows the horrors of combat especially in WW1
This should be a movie or game trailer for ww1 where it shows the brutality of the trenches and our protagonist is singing this while bleeding while his friends are bleeding and screaming for help
They should make a Dutch version of it. Would be epic if a German, English, French and Dutch singer sang this song together.
