Hey, I have the exact same setup! EndeavorOS with CachyOS repos under the hood! It really was that simple to install and I am currently running the latest linux-cachyos kernel, with all the optimizations enabled. Thanks for the tutorial, A1RM4X!
Thanks for the vid! Few months ago I nuked my system while troubleshooting the issue with the small boot partition when trying to do this. But hey that's why I'm here :D
So I have a little problem, I have two graphics cards, an Nvidia Quadro K2000 and an AMD RX 5700 XT. My problem is, I can't get the 2 GPUs to run at the same time, which I need for my 3 monitor setup. What is the best way to fix it and my Linux is Arch.
SALUT A1RMAX, please cachyos vs arch by cardiac pour une utilisation basic ... bureautique surtout et gaming de temps en temps ? je voudrai vraiment ton avis avant de refaire mon setup
I had all sorts of nasty troubles with other distros as a dude who were just running Windows. I have no interest in all those bugs that (for me) are what Linux is all about. BUT! Cachy OS is broken just not that far enough to be actually WORTHY! So I am coding with it and even found that it can run games. It's UI is like 47% broken (as any Linux distro), but after second launch my Rust Rover has it's font size correct and I found that it compiles even a bit faster then on windows (and my Linux cpu is 8 cores, while my Windows one is 12). And I have found out about the fuckery with Wayland shit - so now I can overcome it with my Bevy builds. And so now it is quit much a working OS for me. I can even hack it to watch some videos with one of those video player abominations!
For some reason I installed the cachy-kernel-manager, got the cachyos kernel but it doesn't reboot using this kernel. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. Seems like there's no conf file enabling the system to boot on it.
Some readings for you: wiki.archlinux.org/title/Arch_boot_process#Boot_loader Check your boot loader and make sure it is configured with the new kernel. Cheers.
Was also in this situation and found CachyOS provide this neat little tool: `paru -S systemd-boot-manager` then `sudo sdboot-manage gen` might also need `sudo sdboot-manage update` but it said it was already done so skipped so probs not needed. You should have more boot options when you reboot :)
Not exactly sure I am doing wrong, but past 3 days since watching this video I have been unable to make Arch work with all things Cachy :P First I was having issues getting the Cachy kernel to show up in the boot menu. Managed to fix that by making sure systemd-boot-manager was installed before messing with Cachy-kernel-manager. Was all working fine, kernel, repos etc etc...I then did sudo pacman -S chachyos-gaming-meta, all installed fine, did my usual running Lutris 1st so it did some side package downloads, probs not necessary but I do it anyway lol. Then tried to launch Steam (native or runtime) and I get a quick popup like usual were it goes to download something and it closes immediately. Just can't get Steam to run. Think I have installed Arch 10 times so far over past 3days. Will try again when I am bored :D
Hey, i have been daily driving Linux for a bit more than 4 years now but i am still not going to call my self even an medium skilled user. Would it be possible for you to make a video guide on how to get CachyOS kernel for Debian (or more of Ubuntu) based distros like Mint? Since i am still either running the "out of the box" kerner or the XanMod one
Bah... si tu veux archlinux tu installes archlinux et si tu veux cahyos tu installes cahyos... Tu fais du Fred Bezies dans cette vidéo (from Marseille France) ;-)....
This is really cool. I have EndeavorOS after some of your earlier videos and I'm considering doing this.

Is this stable enough for a Steam Deck?

In my case on Arch i had to manually add a new .conf file to /boot/loader/entries
@@simhz2221 you need to update bootloader conf.

Instructions unclear. Yeetet my kernel into oblivion before loading the custom one first lmao

So it turns out I was missing lib32-nvidia-utils....... \o/
Crème de la crème!

there is a repo for that but need to compile the kernel for yourself
