bro 5:30 you are absolutely right they play it that alternate way! and it sounds so much better than the normal generic way! i dont think its dropped down too.

edit: try tuning 1st string only to D and play it open using the alternate way. sounds good like googoo dolls iris.

As i Am, 2much, Hold on, Holy are my favorite so far.
The slide chords are just using one shape and playing a different voicing. As you move up and down the frets. The Capo version, would sound cleaner using an open g shape not the Gadd9 shape. Because your Am, C and F shapes open chords. Sounds great either way.

Also, blind cover can be a thing if you've not heard "off my face"... Cuz it's totally acoustic... And just a tip for you, it's similar to one of his massive hit from 2015 (I will not name the song)

I know it's wrong but I'd rather learn without the capo. It's hardest maybe but at least u can play with anyone without capo. They might not have one. I've never needed one
It's better showing the pic of the chords that you play in the next viedos.
I cannot get those chords to sound anything like the "another way to play it". 6th string, 3rd string muted 5th... I've tried drop d and standard and it sounds nothing like it lol. Frustrating
