Look at that suit and tie. Over forty years later and if you were wearing it you would still be stylish and the best dressed man in the room. He was a movie star in every way. None of the male stars today have that sort of class.
Montalban could read from a phonebook and sound compelling. In what must be an extreme rarity in Hollywood, he was married to the same woman for 63 years. What an artist and gentleman.
Yes, I got to stay up a little late to watch the first run episodes with my father and older brother. My younger brother was born partway through the original series. He later became a fan while watching the reruns. The Khan episode was one of the best episodes in the original series.😊
Ricardo was always such a class act, a debonair gentleman with fantastic manners and way of speaking his mind that was always so insightful and charming.
I so much enjoy the fact that if I click the like thumbs up button to a person’s comment that person will be notified, even if it was three years in the past that that person made that comment. I do enjoy RUclips for that reason so much as well!
The “drip”, the “rizz” on Montalban…wow. such effortless, panty-dropping charisma, yet faithfully married to his wife for over 50 years. To the young men watching this, this gentleman, and not clowns like Andrew Tate is what you should be emulating. An absolute LEGEND.
Before my dad showed us kids "Wrath of Khan" for the first time, he told us about the singular episode Khan appeared in in the original series, and how he thought it was absolutely brilliant that they brought Khan back for the movie. And no wonder!!!! I have yet to see the episode of the show, but I gather that episode's end was left wide open for a possible return of Khan. The stars aligned, and Ricardo Montalban is now a legend, and unforgettable.
Such warmth and ability... Delivered those lines with passion and hate.. His back and forth with Shatner. Even though not actually face to face or even in real time shows just how great these actors were and are.
Actor Richardo Montaban!…..that dude definitely had it going on throughout his career, not only as an actor but as an individual persona’s character and personality and charisma. After I saw the second Star Trek movie The Wrath of Khan I had to go back and see the original episode from the original Star Trek series because I was so intrigued by his character that he played/presented. Also that dude kept himself in the best physical shape throughout his life….because it is even evident from just watching the movie as well as far back as the episode from Stark Trek that the movie is based on. Yeah….I also think that woman was ready to drop her panties for him after that interview! 😂
What a wonderful interview! Bobbie asks great questions. Ricardo is all class. He also understand the importance of escapism in the movies. So many movies bring todays problems and issues into the story. Most of us are going to get out of that world. It is wonderful to see this man after his greatest performance, being his usual, humble self.
I remember watching him on Fantasy Island....he could seem kind and sinister at the same time...he gave dimensions to that charactor as he did as Khan, so you could like and admire him while also seeing him as villainous as well... Very much a Class Act and obviously a believer from his comments here.
The way he played Khan and More importantly the way he played Mr. Roarke made him perfect to play Vincent Hanna in the movie Heat across from Robert DeNiro. Al Pacino did a fabulous job. But, Ricardo would have played it equally well; but, it would have played in a nearly Polar opposite way.
I will always remember Mr Montalban for Corinthian leather, Fantasy Island and of course, Star Trek. Very classy man. We could all learn something from him.
The man is just so damned CENTRED💪 Can you name a single Hollywood actor today that would answer questions so directly? I loved Fantasy Island as a kid and Mr. Montalban was always a hero and icon of manliness to me; particularly his good manners.
I remember as a kid in '82 (without seeing any promos) in the theater watching the movie seeing Ricardo Montalban. I remember at first thinking "come on, Mr. Fantasy Island...gimme a break". But after a few scenes, I forgot Mr. Fantasy Island and just enjoyed seeing Khan. A mark of a great actor. Don't understand why he didn't become a major movie star in the 50's and 60's.
Mr. Montalban, a practicing Catholic, even gets a little bit philosophical in this segment. He is uncomfortable with abortion and instead believes the growing population of Earth signals that God intends for man to populate the universe. I would have loved to explore that topic further with Mr. Montalban.
"..And very pretty!" in the end of the interview made me think that Mr. Montalban was flirting with with Miss. Wygant. Does anybody have any thoughts on that :)
I wonder what fitness regime Ricardo followed. I know he was a great dancer as well. He looks in such great shape for his age. Especially hos chest as Khan 😊
BTS footage not originally seen before. This is how they would reconfigure the questions to make the answers sound more relevant to the questions being asked. Also they would tailor the reactions of the interviewer. With these situations, it really isn’t an issue because it is just an entertainment segment, but when you’re dealing with real life issues it becomes inauthentic and unethical. Watch the movie Broadcast News with William Hurt. The ending reveals a situation when scripting things is wrong.
She interviewed John Malkovich and introduced herself. JM replied that he knew her as they had had 2 interviews before. He actually looked bored to be there.
Best Star Trek. Best villain. Mostly because of the charisma the actors brought.
Unbelievable character

Montalban was god tier style and charisma.
Today they're slobs by comparison

Beautiful America
for one magic hour to escape reality on the enterprise,,,,,,, so true

We need more of this man in today's day and age.
He was about 62 here. If I look as good as he does when I'm 62, I will be very happy.
An incredibly honest, insightful, candid and charming man. What a class act now missing from Hollywood.
The population explosion cannot be solved by abortion. wow
Ricardo was always such a class act, a debonair gentleman with fantastic manners and way of speaking his mind that was always so insightful and charming.
He's so cool and charming. When I find videos like this, I realise what a treasure trove RUclips is.
Best comment I've ever read.

The man had such class.
What a charming man, very polite and respectful of Bobbie and very sweet saying "you're very pretty" after the interview ended. Fine actor.
What an intriguing personality he was.
He was just so damn charismatic and charming. He is the one and only Khan.
Old school charm.
Khan.
I know it's overused as a cliche, but he is really somebody I could listen to reciting the phonebook and stay hooked to every single thing he says
Mr. Montalban was a Great Actor.. The work he did was always Top Notch.... Thank you Sir..
The “drip”, the “rizz” on Montalban…wow.

An absolute LEGEND.
Peace, yes.
a much loved actor...excellent
He had the best hairpieces. See, they can be really natural. He was so handsome.
Being a man that doesn't generally judge men's looks, even I can see how stunningly good looking he was.even at 65 years old.
He never wore a hairpiece.
the original episode is one of the strongest written of the original series, and how they do it into Star Trek II is great

@@mousenomiatadpole6437 Watch the original episode...you will enjoy it.

He would have been great in the role of the cartel big shot, in the movie, Scarface.
I will always love him

Talking about world problems back in 1982. How well I recall.

That's what separates bad actors, from good ones. The ability to be believable as a good guy, or a evil one.

the best acting of the entire star trek history. all right, I know that is not difficult considering the cast, but still an outstanding presence
This man is a Don 👊✊

His pecs were real.
Not only was Ricardo a fantastic thespian, he just kinda seems like a cool guy.
Every account I've read about him has been positive. It's virtually impossible to find anyone with a bad word to say about him.
Ricardo was such a smooth talker. Could talk about nuclear science and would be riveting.

Rich Corinthian leather...
D@mn he was fine! Even speaking as himself...he sounded like Khan. LOL!
Why does she repeat the questions at the end?
That ending was so awkward

The lady is tripping over her self in lust..lol
Shes lusting for him
She is not a good interviewer. It took her over a minute Of straight blabbering and wouldn't even let the star speak
She interviewed John Malkovich and introduced herself. JM replied that he knew her as they had had 2 interviews before. He actually looked bored to be there.
