I have the same diffuser, & I love it! I talk with Westcott and they’re working on making a grid for that size! I can’t wait! Already have Beauty dish set up for it and I just need that. Then I’m complete

I'd rather buy some Philips Hue White and Color lights in stylish lamps, as some ambient lights and add a large but way cheaper softbox.
Quality is obviously better but how do you prevent that spill in the background, I'm trying to get a lowkey look with a lot of contrast between my face and the background. Sorry, I'm still a n00b ^^

Nice! $1k for 1 light setup sounds crazy but it looks amazing.
I think in this situation, its no so much the light source, but just having a big light modifier like this soft box. Even the desk lamp shoved into that soft box would be a huge improvement.
One of my favorite lights! I wish I saw that light dome before I got theirs. It is a hassle to set up.

Aputure 120D is the way to go! Just recently purchased it. I'm really loving it so far

Curious how much light that thing is putting out? My current light (a crappy tungsten) doesn't pump out much. Pumps out a lot of heat though - haha. I can only get about f/5.6, 1/60th, ISO 320 at about a foot an a half away from me. Doesn't leave me much working room.

While I do enjoy your videos, I would like to make a Pointe....I know that in your room space is at a premium, but the 120D light is too close to your forehead, washing your face out. I just don’t think 💭 where you have it is optimal for your desk talking head shots.

The main question I have, and Daniel thanks for the video, but I need to know. Does that double as an umbrella as well? Because if it doesn't I think I have just stumbled upon the filmmakers holy grail of equipment. Shoot in the rain, and have it lit really well while you do it. It practically sells itself.

Wow I did not know about the rapid box with bowens mount... Definitely worth it if you need to do quick setups, probably saves you at least minutes between setup/breakdown. #worthit
Daniel, quick question. Trying to take this light on location for a corporate shoot but don't want to travel with the c-stand. Any recommendations on a light stand that will work for air travel but will still be able to support this light and dome? Thank you!

Godox SL-60W is a nice alternative. I got one and it worked great on a shoot. I just received 2 Aputure 300D and they are NOISY ! I decided to get an Aputure 120D II, but I got the feeling I'll have more SL-60W on order if the 120D II don't provide much. One thing that bug me with the Aputure, is not all Bowens Diffuser work with Aputure !!! The ring they put on the light go far out and stick. Andy Tran : no the light doesn't come with a stand. I just got this light this week and literally almost fell over because I am using an old crappy light stand. If you get this definitely invest in a good light stand or c-stand(what I am leaning to get). Hope this helps

I've used this one a bit and it is damn good, though the default box for it is absolutely ridiculous, or at least the one for the variant that I've used was. Definitely do the same thing and get a different box for it that's quicker to setup. =)
Lights are useless if not used properly.... nowadays everyone call themselves "cinematographer" or "filmmaker" or "gaffer" when they don't make movies/films, and don't know anything about compositing, lighting...etc... just saying... there are few tutorials in RUclips about how to light a commercial, worthy to watch btw.
