April SOAP SACK Campaign

- For the ENTIRE month of April we are helping the S.A.C.K Foundation by crocheting Soap Sacks!
S.A.C.K stands for Supporting A Community with Kindness.
Our goal is to have donated 5,000 soap sacks by the end of April.
LAST DAY TO SHIP FRIDAY APRIL 28th
Let's keep track of all local donations by filling out this form:

Soap Sack Requirements:
Make with 100% cotton or a cotton blend yarn
The soap sack has to have a loop or drawstring to keep it off the ground.
Include one un-opened bar of soap with each soap sack donation.
*optional to include the little tag on each soap sack to let people know what it is.

I donated 20 soap sacks today at our local Veterans office. They loved them and were very appreciative!
I am so glad to see this I used to donate soap sacks with soap to our local homeless shelter. Unfortunately I am no longer in the financial position to afford to buy soap. But this is great now I can make soap sacks without having to worry about that because they already have the soap

I love this project champaign. Unfortunately for me, I can't crochet at this time due to shoulder and arm injury, I tried crocheting some bunnies for my neices an nephews, and it set me back with my healing and pain. I'm so sad I can't crochet I'm wanting to so badly, but I'm going to therapy every wk twice a wk to get better. But when I'm able to crochet, I'm gonna do some for my local free store for our community. Thank-you so much for sharing. God Bless everyone.

Tiffany, this is a great idea. April is my birthday month an I have decided to make as many sacks as I can and give a gift. Wow Susan! You’re kill’n it!! Great job! Last day is April 28th which is a Friday and I don’t think the post office is open on Saturdays. But as long as you ship before May you’re good! 😊❤️🧶
Me and a lady that I met through next door, who wanted to join me, have made about 45 bags so far. We are going to drop them off at our local, homeless shelter and food bank next week.😀 thank you for your initial video about making these because it’s something I really wanted to do and I’m so excited about it!

WUA also supports S.A.C.K. Can we donate soap sacks to WUA, note they are for your campaign, and get them to count?
You are correct that WUA does help support S.A.C.K. However I did not contact them to ask if they would help us out with this campaign. I'm treating them completely separate while WUA is currently working a different campaign. But if it is more convenient for you to ship to WUA feel free to do so.
So have we heard if you met your goal?
Unfortunately we did not meet our goal of 5,000 but we did contribute over 2,000 which is amazing to achieve in just 30 days. I'm so grateful to everyone who was able to help contribute to this campaign. 😊❤️🧶

Hi There! I can absolutely help. Check out WarmUpAmerica.org. This is a Non-profit organization that helps many different charities get what they seek. You can find multiple charities there that would be looking for baby blankets and it shares where you can ship them to. 😊🧶💖

What's the deadline to mail our sacks?
Thanks for pointing out that I didn't mention this! Last day to ship would be Friday April 28th or Saturday April 29th if your post office is open on Saturdays. But generally all post is closed on Sundays which would be the last day in April. I just updated the video description to reflect these dates. 😊🧶❤️

Oh, you can really just take a rectangular shape that is 6 inches wide and 4 inches long and then fold it in half and sew the 2 sides together. You can find more free soap sack patterns on their website soapsacks.com or I have a couple here on my channel.😊🧶❤️
I have a question ? Are these sacks to hold a bar of soap or do you use the sack with the soap in it as a wash cloth ?
They are meant to be both. They can hold the soap and you can use it as a cloth with the soap in it, or you can use it empty as well as just a small wash cloth.
