- From the south to the north, the Silver State is an area with rich history, particularly rich mining history. From Rhyolite on the western border, to Berlin in the Toquima mountains, many of these towns boomed - and then disappeared within a ten year span. While what remains in all of these towns varies, the towns herein - Rhyholite, Palmetto, Pioche, Belmont and Berlin - are the best ghost towns to explore in the state for seasoned explorers and novice travelers alike.

Hey, I loved your video! I have not been to Berlin yet, but I will the next time I am out there. I would say that my favorite Ghost Town has to be Delamar. It is really remote, and it amazes me how they got the ore out of Delamar with all the tough terrain. The other place I love is Leadfield which is inside of Death Valley and it quite the drive to get there, but is absolutely one of the most beautiful drives I've ever taken. From Beatty, Nevada its like an hour to an hour and a half drive to Leadfield, on Titus Canyon Road. After leaving Leadfield you will drive through Titus Canyon which is simply amazing!
Leadfield is a great spot - technically in California, I believe (have to check a map), I visited it when I was out in Titus Canyon in 2018!

@@democracyforall - Nevada is absolutely beautiful. Huge mountains everywhere. There is plenty of desert everywhere with some absolutely beautiful mountains almost any direction you look. Some parts are vast, lonely, and unoccupied, but still full of beauty.

I really don't know, have you ever heard anything about the possible Ghost Town named Eureka, Nevada at any time yet? Try that place out for fun sometime. Yeah. Eureka, Nevada. Now, I physically had lived in Eureka at one time or several other times during the middle 1970's and up to the early 1990's. I can legit help clarify what everyone else might think, say and believe about the Town there. Check out the Ghost Town called Eureka, Nevada. A lot of strange, weird stuff used to happen there that leads to way more questions than ever given any answer to.
Eureka is starting to fill up again. Mt. Hope is shut down so everyone moved back into town, but there are mines opening up in the Pancake mountains so the boom is on...again. Now Austin on the other hand....

At 6:57 minutes you say "Unlike Pioche, which is also a town, Belmont is a place where you can live." Yes, you can live in Belmont, and according to one news article, "A handful of people live there year around." However, you can also live in Pioche, and many people do. It is the Lincoln County seat and has a population of over 1000. It also has at least three pubs, a hotel and motel, several restaurants, a small supermarket, the sheriff's office, court house, and a new jail with over 100 beds.

Have you ever checked out Goodsprings in Neveda? Went there it was pretty cool for the saloon but didn't really get a ghost town feel. I feel there was more I should have seen.
If I ever make it back I'll definitely check some of these out.

Also, Berlin is very easy to get to from Tonopah. Very smooth dirt rod the whole way (smoother than the pavement that precedes it). Less than an hour if youre a good driver.

Did you ever see the phantom donkeys cross the highway in a line? My husband was a truck driver and saw them on Hwy 95, and so did other drivers in a convoy he was in that day. He couldn't stop in time as they appeared when he was right almost on them, so he drove through them and looked in his rearview and they were still there crossing, and when he asked the drivers behind him if they saw them, one said he did, and had seen them more than once before as well. Then when they got to a cafe to stop and eat the worker said "Did you see them? I could tell by the look on your face." So what do you know about this sort of thing? I can't find any information online about this. I would think people would be talking about it online.
Highway 95 is an amazing trove of stories, lore, and other phenomena. I've never seen "phantom" donkeys, but I've seen live burros and other animals along it. No aliens yet! ;)
