On our way out of the venue I saw her up close, and she really was as pretty as she looks in her photos and on tv. The moment I became a fan of hers was when I saw her being interviewed on a late night talk show, and the host asked her what was the difference between a burlesque dancer like her and a stripper, and she said "nothing, they're the same!" She did not try to make herself better than or demean any girl at the local strip joint. She came off as very down to earth and approachable.

She is absolutely empowering to women. I feel empowered by her. She is celebrating the female human body. She is in her 40’s. She exudes warmth and a lost age in bygone era were there was an art to burlesque. She owns her femininity and her strength. She supports women of all sizes and body shapes embracing their sensuality and sexuality and feeling beautiful and having access to items in their sizes that make them feel beautiful. She is exactly who she wants to be for HER, nobody else, she’s authentically HERSELF. She shows that one can be classy and sensual at the same time, and not just either a whore or a madonna. And speaking as a woman, that is empowering as hell.
I must say this was a fantastic interview ! Congratulations to the lady interviewer because she manages to handle a genuine woman-to-woman (and not a fangirl-to-famouscelebrity) interview with a well appreciated firm handshake at the end ! Both ladies were very nice to look at and listen to. Ms Von Teese is a real inspiration to me, and I am still trying to find my inner self and be confident about it ! Though it's a hard and long way...
I've always appreciated Dita's unique looks, but only recently I happened to watch some Dita-themed YT videos just to discover that she has such a nice and calming voice. I love the fact that the way she talks is a part of her style - the tone, the cadence and everything. I can watch a short video where she talks about red lipsticks 5 times in a row just to hear her speaking.
Agreed, I have found myself watching interviews with Dita and see that although she appreciates decades she is also incredibly down to earth and modern!
What I would give for a Dita Von Teese reality show. Her life seems so interesting and Unique, and the life of a burlesque star has never been featured on a show before. Also, both men and women adore her, with unique beauty, class, sensuality and her authentic personality I could watch her for hours. More upscale neighborhoods will have better pieces usually, maybe also look for boutiques if you can. It never hurts to also watch what makes clothes a certain era and high quality. There is no good vintage clothes my area so I have to go to other towns 20 min away.
