The CPU almost certainly is but I'm not sure about the GPU, we'd need more info on the ram speed, width, bandwidth , shaders etc before you can say it's faster than the Steam Deck 8CU RDNA 2 iGPU with quad data rate ddr5 ram. Winlater sucks and will never beat native performance, we need actual ports like Apple did with IOS, not emulated games which take a hit in performance and all sorts of graphical issues.
If anyone cares, Red Magic have just announced today that they will also be selling the full fat 10 Pro+ model with 24GB Ram and 1TB of storage outside of China for the first time.
@mmpsp693 Why? 512GB of storage isn't much when you're filling it with gaming 'stuff,' especially emulation ISO files at up to 8GB a time, or Switch ROMs at up to 20GB.

A micro sd card slot and 16:9 screen aspect ratio would have made this the best gaming, streaming and emulation device ever. Also a 3x camera would be golden.
@@asdprogram you can run it even on a slower chips than snap 8 elite , i played on my phone with snapdragon 8s gen 3, using winlator, and i get 25-30fps with some freezes but totally playable

I'll wait for the emulators to be optimized before getting 10. I have red magic 9 pro with Verizon in the US. As a phone the battery lasts so long. The device stays cool up to ps2. Doing switch and WI U, the temperature rise up to 52-56 C. Definetely need a copper/aluminum case and portable cooler. The Game sir detachable L and R controller fits the cooler nicely.
I'm sorry, but I insist saying this. This is a missed opportunity, it's unacceptable to NOT include a microSD card slot. They have this powerful device that can literally can replace a retro console and it's limited to 1Tb. My retro collection is 464 GB, and it's not even including absolutely all the games for my emulated consoles. Thanks to a friend of mine that gave me his Switch original games to clone for myself, I also have 80 GB of Switch games. This puts the whole games to a whopping 550 GB. Most of the games are mine as I couldn't afford to keep a console for collection and buy a new one. So it was with my PC's. I always sold mine to be able to purchase the next in line. But I was smart enough to make clones of my games before selling them. So yes I am lucky enough to have my games backed-up, but I couldn't use a phone/device like this with so limited storage. Imagine if after my collection I would also want some android games, and also consider that this is a phone and it takes pictures and videos as well. Not to mention the space of all the apps you need for retro emulation. Yeah you could delete some and replace them but, I would prefer to have a 'lesser' phone, and buy a retro handheld with this Elite chipset and if not 2 TB and least 512 GB plus microSD card slot on it. I'm pretty sure next year this time we will see the next of the best, if not earlier.

If you want the best performance for games and content consumption get a Redmagic. We're all here for a gaming flagship not a regular flagship. We don't want a selfie cam punchole we want an under display camera or no cameras at all wouldn't even bother us. Many of us have other phones we use as daily drivers. Nobody ever bought a gaming phone for pictures and video. Don't like Samsung and Apple? Get a Huawei. You want a Nubia with cameras? Get a Z70 Ultra. This is a gaming phone.

at this point the price is so much and you will need a phone controller anyways, getting retroid 5 and a cheap phone is better option. and on top of that we are not limited by cpu/gpu horsepower on android, but it is software limitation so even a midrange cpu would satisfy whatever you want to play

It depends. The Galaxy has much better carrier band support, better cameras, DeX, vastly better long term software support, and their hardware ecosystem is more fleshed out. I'm typing this on a Galaxy phone while wearing a Galaxy Watch and I've got Galaxy Buds in my ears. While all of their accessories will work with other brand phones, they won't work as well as they do with a Galaxy. If those things matter to you then the Galaxy S24U is still the better choice. If they don't then the RM𝕏 might be the better choice.

It's great for storing photos and video too. Cloud storage services don't like you storing your own stuff on your own phones.

The best thing for long GPS is the battery bypass feature. I do the same thing on the Sony Xperia 1 VI

Android 9 still works 'PERFECTLY' fine. This isn't like iOS where you quickly lose app support.

The 8 Elite is not supported yet. It started supporting the 8 Gen 3 last month.

ETA briefly did a Winlator test on the 8 Elite during his ROG 9 phone review. It required a somewhat glitchy alpha build; but, it looked incredible.
You should try the gog version of bg3 in winlator just to see if it's possible in this new chips
