Just ordered this to support my RTT on my tacoma camper shell. Thinking this will address my worry of putting excess weight on the fiberglass. Update 5/2/22 - This has been a great option! The weight of the tent hasn't been an issue once, Even while off-roading! Solid product by @milford :)
What year it is your Tacoma. I asking you because I got in touch with them to install it on my 2019 TRD Pro and they said that the LoadMax it's not compatible with the rail canopy use on my Tacoma
Ok so I purchased my set of LoadMax by Milford. 1 set. Waiting on rhinorack track systems. To go along with loadmax. I want to install a alucab roof top tent which weighs 163 pounds. My ARE cap is rated for about 160 pounds. The tent itself is 163 pounds. Add a rhino rack platform rack, awning, some fishing rods on top the alucab roof top tent bars. I’m looking at about 225 pounds. Keep in mind im on the beach so plenty of side to side and up and down motion. ALSO THINKING TO ORDER 2ND LOAD MAX TO ADD 3rd SET OF LOAD BARS TO BRING UP CAPACITY OF LOAD MORE. So that’s 6 bars total. Does this sound right or ok? If the load max system is rated for over the caps designed load weight of 160 pounds PLUS and extra set of load max bars, it should work. CORRECT? Is my logic right? What do you guys think? My truck is an f 150. Six and half foot bed with an ARE Z Style cap.
Texas OveRam hey buddy. Ordered it and never installed it. Installed Rhino rack and just go with lighter load. New plan to order larger height truck cap that already comes with bar system to hold larger load on top pre installed. Now with my drawers and pull out slider plus if I installed the bar system would have left me barely any room. You live and learn. Thanks for asking buddy. 👍
Hi Paul, we do not currently have a stockist in the USA, but we can send a LoadMax kit to you directly. If you want to get in touch via our website www.milford-auto.com or email us at sales@milford-auto.com we can take some details and give you a quote for freight options.
Hi Angelo, thanks for getting in touch. The weight the LoadMax system can support varies from vehicle to vehicle. Our system is rated in excess of the specifications provided by vehicle manufactures, so it will enable you to safely carry loads up to the vehicle's maximum load potential. If you would like any further information you can contact us at sales@milford-auto.com
MilfordAuto a lot of the truck camper load limits are 200lbs. In theory your product should increase that but to how much? 1000lbs? 2000lbs? The same as a cargo rack?
Hi Angelo, the Milford LoadMax system affixes to the vehicle bedrails, thus transferring all load to the body tub. Accordingly, you must observe the vehicle's maximum load specification; knowing of course that the LoadMax system is tested well beyond this capability. I should also add that the part was designed and tested in Australia for all vehicles in this market, if you advise us of your vehicle make and model we will be able to provide further clarification. I hope this helps!
