Yeah you can get great glams with bucklers. With wolf marks you have a scimitar available that imo pairs well with the Mol round shield. Then you have a middle eastern esthetic going.
I really like the Sword of the Forgiven (L79 dungeon) for a non-effect sword that looks really good. It's got a great design and color scheme that looks especially good with brighter armor sets. The Neo-Ishgardian Sword has the same design and is dyable but the gems inlaid on the sword are all the same color. The gems on its forgiven counterpart are red, blue, yellow and green. It reminds me of old school FF plots with the four elemental crystals, which I think is cool.

Galatine Anemos/Evalach Anemos are my favorites. The base model and textures are beautiful, and the particle effects don't overwhelm them. And they're from the first Eureka zone so they're not hard to get.
Thanks for putting this together! I do like the PLD aesthetic, but man, it could be hard finding a good combo. Of the relic weapons, the Anemos line I think is the best. A lot of the relic and crafted swords have such thick blades, it looks unwieldy. It's one of the reasons I'd never go for the ARR one. I also wish we could give the Zantetsuken a glow.

Very clean, minimalistic design with proportions that look like it could be a real sword with a splash of fantasy elements with a wing crossguard motif that really sells a holy warrior aesthetic. The gold color of the hilt I also think looks better than the white version of the colbalt winglet. And the crossguard opens up when you draw it, making an extremely satisfying click sound and adding a bit more visual flair.
I really love the Warrior of Light Tank-Set from Crystal Tower. (Wish there was an update with higher resolution, tho.) But I cannot decide for a Sword and Shield matching to it. ^^ Right now I’m using a hidden shield an the ilvl 520 tomestone weapon. ^^ Any suggestions? :D It’s also a pitty that the swords clips with the little bag when sheathed, and large shields clip trough the… uh… collar? „Kragen“?
Can someone tell me if there is a slightly easier way to get Curtana and Holy Shield Ultima? since I never knew if it is possible to do like the other trails that you enter now at lvl90
I use the 75 Ravel top dyed blue with the manderville sword/shield, they go together perfectly in matched blue/gold/silver design. #1 relic i want to see next evolution for!
Personally for me recently I'm into Byakko's Sword & Shield. It has the ink brush effect when swung around. For me it's quite unique because I've never seen this kind of effect done on any weapon except this one.
One of my favorites not mentioned here is an oldy but damn, the high allagan sword are shield are so good. In general I love the high allagan stuff with its high contrasts but I specially love the sword and shield.
For mine I love uaing the zantetsuken (i think thats how its spelled) sword and shinryu shield. I have a soft spot for retractable weapons and the swords always nice to see form out of the hilt
Yes Paladin thnx it's now my main but haven't delved in glamor weapons to much. Like the Lux blue flame edition. Don't like the more Dark weapons cause I'm going for a more holy knight esthetic. But if going more DRK themed then those weapons definitely work and are very beautifull. Am hoping for good Manderville glow too. The Mandeville gives of a Link Hylian shield vibe. Whish the sword was a bit slimmer tho. So SMN lux and PLD lux. Are all the Lux weapons that good?
I got the ARR warrior relic and I just can't bring myself to go through that again. I'll just stick to heavensward relics until we get more Mandervilles. Bozja is basically dead and I haven't been able to finish DR yet because of that and Eureka is just too much of a time investment to be worth it for 1 - 2 weapons that I may want.
The Manderville sword and shield look great. Looking forward to seeing how they evolve. I think the Edenchoir Bastard Sword looks awesome too, I love when the guard of a sword has wings on it. The shield counterpart, the Edenchoir Scutum is a pretty cool tall shield.
PLD main here. Im not a damage nut, personally. I want PLD to get stronger so people dont audibly sigh when i join their party. But personally i prefer having more utility than more damage.
I thought the ARR relic was ok for PLD. then after getting it, I kind of hate the darkening in the middle. Same with Honorbound & Tenacity. The base design was already good, why was it darkened so much that the texture doesn't show. Augmented Law & Order is the best phase from ShB relics. disappointed with the 6th phase. Heavensward relic, almost everything looks good. This is how I was thinking the ARR relic & Honorbound & Tenacity should treat the darkened part of the weapon. The effect also good, I don't really like the spike on the bottom of the shield though. same with DRK's claymore, the sudden 2 spikes at the end feels weird for me. The only weird one from Heavensward relic is probably BLM, look like chupa chups
It's actually pretty good now. Slightly less, but viable, damage is still good damage. And then factoring the party utility, its a nice pick, atleast from a certain tanking perspective

You are right, that is why I like the ARR one, it gives good holy vibes, while having a dark core 👍
To be fair, in many mythologies fire is used to cleanse and as such is considered holy. For instance a lot of angels uses fire to purge & smite foes.

Bro, I'm hype for the potential Dawntrail changes for Excalibur, it's going to look amazing. Easily my favorite PLD weapon aesthetically.

As a trash PLD and still in SHB leveling, I run a somewhat minimalistic with the Sword of the Round and the Fortemps shield. Looks good and clean.

Ritter Shield and Sword for the girly aesthetics. The shield had so much details it’s just a shame there isn’t a glowing version.
I use those with a pink-dyed creed armor set and haven't found anything I like better. They look ++great on the forgiven reticence mount.

Excalibur was my first relic I ever earned in 14 and I still use it with my Paladin to this day.

Lux Anima is a very popular choice, so I guess it can be considered an absolute favourite of the community. The whole Anima Series is fire indeed !

Sharpened Sword of the Twin Thegns and Sharpened Shield of the Twin Thegns from HW relic weapons go amazingly with the paladin 90 job gear.
Sharpened Sword and Shield are under-rated it seems. Would definitely put it ahead of Zeta sword/shield.
