Short note for people who are watching it now: The Endwalker relic materials are now available for Allagan Tomestones of Poetics, because Dawntrail dropped and the old endgame currency was scraped.
Just a tip, if you are doing Eureka or Bozja you gain a lot of poetics which you can buy the necessary mats for the relics in HW. I had enough for all 13 relics before I even started 1.
If you are doing Eureka, Bozja, BLU weeklies or DT trials, you get a lot of poetics, with which, in the next patch, you can use to buy mats for the EW relics. Which is so much better than paying a sub now to grind hunts and daily dungeon roulettes.
@@itsSparrow-most of the HW relics are a poetic grind, as a majority of the materials needed have to be bought. So if you’re a completionist and want to get all the relics you can go to Bozja or…Eureka (gross) and get tons of tomes while getting mats for the relics they have.
Yeah ARR is still one of the worst to grind lol. really wish they could change a bit. furthest i've gotten is having to complete those books with special missions

Hell I had all jobs to level 30+ during 1.0 before ARR even came out so I picked up Arcanist so I had something to level up while I was playing the game and mostly played Sch back then. So when it was time to Relic grind I did Paladin, Dragoon. I didn't care for Mnk BLM and I didn't really level War or Nin. Then Shiva came out and she was way more fun TBH
With 20 jobs to consider, I hope they re-design the steps for the individual relics so the milestones with the most grind only have to be done once with a relatively short step for additional relics. It has reached a point where it's just unbearable trying to grind any decent number of them.
Someone had a good idea that the first Relic unlock could be more like the actual Grinds with Actual Content. Then make the subsequent weapons an easier grind with currency. Bozja sorta experimented with something like this, where there were one time steps you only needed to do once.
Relic is perfect now point grind fir the sake of grind can go to hell this isn't wow we don't want wow crap in 14 let that game treat you like an employee
Relic, especially the older ones simply aren't for everyone, and not everyone should be doing them, only players whom enjoy and willing to grind through the process should be doing relic content
You can do both solo. Euerka is easily soloable and I completed 10 of mine last expansion in solo instances. Shadowbringers is the same thing, you can do them solo, but ideally, it's best to make some friends and do them together, but it's not impossible or even "hard" to do them solo.
bozja relic is fun if you dont need to wait people fixed amount of people to progress, castrum/zadnor waiting people + waiting people to join and DR requiring pf + 10min wait
I finally got my first ARR relic weapon in this last month of 2024. It was quite the grind, and made me expand the way I played the game. I suppose that was their design intent. The crafting stuff was wild because I didn’t really do much crafting beforehand. But I crafted all the hq deliverables, and ground out the rest of it. As a proud new owner of Longinus Zeta, I would say I’m not doing that again, knowing that the other weps will have me freuquenting the same annoying locations, and not caring enough about the weapon for any other job. But I am glad I finally saw the process after all these years
I've been on a journey this expansion to obtain all relics in the game. It started out small by just wanting to get one relic for each job, no matter which expansion, but that snowballed into ALL relics for ALL jobs for ALL expansions....and then I included Doh/Dol too lol. Currently, I am finishing the last step for 13 more Hildy weapons. So I should be done Ina week weeks for those. Then I only have step 6 left for the 8 Doh jobs for the spendorous tools....that's it! I'm gonna need a new long-term goal for DT. Lol
@@Good_Mental With Eureka, it wasn't bad. If you go to the right server, you will see the same faces just about each night in the zones. So that was kind of cool. But it was too much by the end of it for me. It still takes a lot of time in each zone to do all relics.
i dunno if they changed it lately, but i dissagree ont he 2 hours estimation for the anima relic. the luminous crystal drops from fates seems pure rng. while i managed to get some with only a few fates, others took me days to get. i recall the sea of cloud one in particullar taking me over 50 fates until it finally dropped, and that was only for 1 weapon. also my tip is to actually do several relics at the same time, as both the luminous crystals for the early anima stage, as well as the memories for the early bozja weapons can be farmed from heavensward fates, so you'll save time if you have both steps active
As much as I hated the relic grind in Shadowbringers. Bozja made it fun as it’s nice to have an endgame area. It felt so nice to log on every day and seeing so many people in Bozja
Man if I had the time to spend on games like FFXIV I would be so happy. I remember playing Bozja with my FC and we almost managed to farm all relics but I got a promotion and had to move to another country so right of the back the timezone was harsh, then due to a medical issue ai had to sell my PS4 so I stopped playing all together. Now I bought me a PS5 but ever since Shadowbringers my life was a roller coaster and now that is more stable I have a day consuming job so whenever I have time to play I am utterly exhausted or I just can do small play sessions every so often. I kinda miss being a tad being younger and having all the time I had to spare because I would like to play Endwalker and the next expansion. Because even tho most relic weapons look cool AF those glamours are extremely time consuming which is a really big no no for me today. Sucks to be a responsible adult 😢
I've always felt that the old relics like Zodiac Zeta and Anima Lux weapons should be toned down even more as theyre not even relevant anymore stats wise. Like the grindy part of umbrites to imbue stats into the weapon should be eliminated altogether because those weapons are already so grindy that unless you havent done the Hildebrand questline at all, the latest relic weapon which is still kinda relevant for leveling up to 100 in DT, is the least grindiest of them all.
I've been going hard finishing up some alt job Resistance relics. Will likely get some more Eureka relics done before Dawntrail too. For the Resistance relics, I have a job on each stage of the questline, so I'm accumulating all the memories at once during my daily roulettes (plus keeping an eye on DR runs in PF).
This has also been my main strategy. It sucks when I then can complete a step but don’t have any jobs to fill in the gap so I have to go back and bring a bunch more up the chain 😂
1500 tomes takes 2/3 hours max, ive already 13 of the final relics and ive had work and not been flat out so easy. The fate grind for Shadowbringers is way more painful then said here and then shadowbringers after that (apart from 1 time grind is easy). ARR individual books stage is the most painful
The ShB memory grind needs to be brought down to 10 each of the 3 memories. The first real step is so brutal! And they need to fix timeworn drops, but that can risk killing Delubrum entirely so it’s a difficult prospect. Perhaps just upping the material drops for each run so it isn’t a 5 hour grind for each weapon. Only require three runs by upping the reward from 3 to 5 each run. That or also have then drop in the final Zadnor raid too so people start playing that again.
It’s crazy how the SHB relics went from super easy to go get to nearly impossible to get in a short span of time. Getting into Castrum just doesn’t happen at all anymore.
15 runs of the Crystal Tower series would get to anyone but by far though for first timers is the What Dreams are made of quest I hate that with a passion.
@@Twilii3 It only takes 5 runs of Crystal Tower now, I’m pretty sure. Gives three Memories per run. CLL now only takes 3 runs, giving 5 memories per run.
Are you my twin? 😅I did this same thing except i did them all at the same time, trying to spend as little as possible, even going as far as 3h spiritbond grinding and therefore extracting my own g1 materia. Really enjoyed this grind, doing some stuff like book dungeons synced to really learn my classes. The Lux grind was one huge currency grind by comparison, but the step to step looks of the weapons were so much cooler. I almost wish it were harder bc it does nothing to prepare you for what Eureka is. The system of it looks interesting but the step by step looks go a little less hard than lux or zodiacs did.
It's a bit sad none of my glams really fit the cyber theming, so I just changed Relics. But I guess that's the risk of making the Relic have such a specific style
Get a Bozja weapon in each stage so you can collect upgrade mats doing roulette, fate grinding, POTD/HoH, and other random things. I haven't touched Bozja since finishing my first weapon, getting one to each stage so you can collect mats, and finishing all the duels back when it came out. I have enough mats to get every relic now minus about 50 of each memory from the second stage. Once you get to the point that Poetics and hunt seals are useless for you, stock up on relic mats from the various expansions. Manderville relics come easy just by doing dailies and buying the mats to burn tomes. Finished all of them up a few weeks after the final stage was released. Things that are Grand Company seals only become the only tedious mat to farm at this point but if you cashed in all your gear drops from dungeon runs, you'll be done with these too. Eureka now ... yeah, I did 2 weapons there and haven't been able to get myself to go back.
I don't think I'll ever grind something in the ARR relics beside the paladin one, I'm glad I picked tank because forcing dungeons is so much easier as tank or healer
While this is probably more or less accurate on the basis of time investment, still gotta take into account how tedious and painful some of the steps are. Books get so old so fast. Sure it may only take like an hour to do a book, probably a little longer, but they're enough of a painful grind as it is. and that's just *one* step out of 8. And while ShB may take longer, the relic doesn't get as tedious as fast as the Eureka weapon does purely because it's a more varied grind where the Eureka weapon is just FATE grinding, more FATE grinding, even *more* FATE grinding, and finally a number of BA runs.
The main reason why book get so old this fast is surely because nowasay, you're doing them all alone which add a bit more pain to it. Bozja and Eureka would be double sided, on one side it can just be a painful grind with boring an repetitive thing, but on the other side there is a chance you get with a nice group of people and you didn't even noticed that 3 hours had passed
Honestly everything but Zeta and Lux looks like they barely put any effort into it. It’s part of the reason I’m against relic zones, as if they can’t give us a top tier glamour it’s basically a waste of time for something that is at best crafted primal tier.
They really need to tie in more than just the weapons. Relic gear needs to be a thing and act as an alternative to just grinding Savage raids every week!

It's a shame the elemental casting set is dogwater, the elemental 'tanky' set is the BEST looking which is why it's always shown off when talking about the elemental gear. For anyone out there, be sure to check what the set looks like before wasting your time...

I have a very long term goal of completing every relic weapon for every job, I've already done ARR and HW and have my first EW one. ShB is just a long term grind and EW I plan on doing passively while levelling my alt jobs to 90 using MSQ roulette once DT drops. SB however is a beast all it's own, I HATE Eureka and the fact the the entire relic is 100% gated within that content has infuriated me ever since it first came out.
For some reason the only weapons i ever liked the HW relic and.. TEA XD whenever i look at a weapon nowadays i don't care At least now, I really like the direction they have for weapons. i wish they'll do effects involved with the raid tiers (like E10S black smoke effect or something) and I'd like the relic weapons involved with msq (like sin eater theme weapons for shadowbringers) with good models that standout, not bland skinny gun or plain old samurai sword Even Bozja themed weapons would have been nice. we have so much effects from the skill abilities to the queen/fire+ice (ignore zurvan) hell even a checkered pattern effect on the savage armor would of made this game better imo and not just... alright, for now
Thanks for the guide, I kind of want one that just rank each expansion's relic hunt in terms of difficulty assuming you do them all to the end and get the highest tier relic. I did my ARR relic grind for warrior and ninja so I just want to know for other expansions how are the difficulties compare to ARR
nah, I literally stopped playing the game once they did that. His quest are booring and just waste time out of my life I cant get back, for unfunny "memes" and a complete was of a decades worth of time. If ff aint gonna respect my time, they aint gonna get my money

Just my opinion ARR is an ok introduction, HW was pretty funny but the rest... eh? stormblood ruined my vibe onwards but at least the skip cutscene "grind" wasn't so bad Endwalker is going in the right direction tho, especially for the weapons and trialk I really like how the weapon tags along with the story a bit; if only the models looked good... at least they weren't goofy looking like the catgirl as a gun or something, people early patches were worried about that lol
no its NOT subjective that forcing me to waste DAYS OF MY LIFE on a decade old side joke content is ok for a loot lock out. Im not salty I just respect my time, i work full time, and what down time I have that isnt school or photography is split between a few games of choice, and an MMO that takes time and money is the first to get cut when I feel its not worth the value in terms of the other games I have to play, as Yoshi himself says often, take breaks come back. The new Relics are honestly just too easy and passive, they don't take any effort. It's at least made me go back and do the Relics with actual content during the drought though. 😅its a bit sad with RPR and SGE since you only have the one relic questline tho... Would be nice if they got updated some time with new Relic models.
Having finally started my Anima Weapon grind, I think it's crazy that the total Tomestone cost of the Manderville Weapons is the same as the cost of ONE STAGE of the Anima Weapon, which also requires alternative resources. I'm ready for a real grind in Dawntrail.
A mix of lvl 50 tome gear, lvl 70 tome gear, Allagan gear, omicron/omega, and the newest pvp trophy crystal sets do a pretty good job of making a glam that themes well with the newest relics. But if none of these fit your tastes, then understandable 👍
yes, that's true. people have different goals to grind relics, some for glamour, and some just to collect 'em. either way if you're gonna go a grindy route might as well pat yourself at the back for doing some stressful runs rather than just dreading about it at the end of the day. @@InsanoRider777
Seriously now... the effort for relic weapons is getting more and more ridiculous... back then, at least you had something to grind, grouped up and made new friends - which ended up making the grind a lot of fun in a way, even if it was stressful. Today you just have to farm stupid stones and only grind inis/dungeons for stones to buy the mats and you're done. Eureka was grind-heavy, but the bottom line is that it was fun. Even the A Realm Reborn Relic was more varied than today's nonsense, where, as I said, it's all about buying objects for stones to redeem them and then you have a finished Relic. Agreed. I'm doing Eureka right now and it's blast playing with others. It feels like FFXI where there are real stakes. The Manderville weapons are ridiculously easy to get. Looking forward to doing Bozja next.
@@JamieBarrington I finished my Eureka Dark Knight relic weapon today, it was worth the effort and I personally really enjoyed it, even though it was grind-heavy. I'm also going to slowly finish the rest of the Eureka weapons for my remaining classes piece by piece, especially since I had been saving them in case I ever need a side hustle. The sad thing about the current relic weapons is simply the point that they just aren't anything "meaningful" anymore that you had to go a long journey to get, like back in the day. Just some friendly note : This video assumed that you are in subscription. If you are in Free Trial, throw away your expectation to complete *whole stages* of relic weapon in hours
I havent picked ANY! lol Even with very cheap & uncreative maded Relicmode in Endwalker Relics, I did not cared any moment to get even just 1. I dont see them as usefull. I dislike the weapon design. Its ugly or to much bloated graphical effects, hidding my character. Relic weapon become outdated after next expansion, since they dont level up with character. Weapons from MB are way cheaper and faster - And can do all content with it too till the next first 7.0 tome gears shows up!
These relics this expansion feel terrible to progress. Worst Expansion ever honestly. Even with the complete shit state Heavensward raiding was in I'd take anyday. #BringClassicFF14BackNoChanges

EW relics are ULTRA easy. Just do roulettes with lv 90 jobs.

Eureka is hell on earth. 3 days?! I was 2 weeks in and gave up before I even hit the final relic, and got nowhere near the elemental armor
I got all 10 ARR zodiac weapons to Zeta before moving to Heavensward x-x im so happy im done with them 😇

I almost wish it were harder bc it does nothing to prepare you for what Eureka is. The system of it looks interesting but the step by step looks go a little less hard than lux or zodiacs did.
The greatest Tip is to Farm Erueka since the Notorius monters give Poetics, so you can farm 1 relic and buy all anima weapon items

Get a Bozja weapon in each stage so you can collect upgrade mats doing roulette, fate grinding, POTD/HoH, and other random things. I haven't touched Bozja since finishing my first weapon, getting one to each stage so you can collect mats, and finishing all the duels back when it came out. I have enough mats to get every relic now minus about 50 of each memory from the second stage. Once you get to the point that Poetics and hunt seals are useless for you, stock up on relic mats from the various expansions. Manderville relics come easy just by doing dailies and buying the mats to burn tomes. Finished all of them up a few weeks after the final stage was released. Things that are Grand Company seals only become the only tedious mat to farm at this point but if you cashed in all your gear drops from dungeon runs, you'll be done with these too. Eureka now ... yeah, I did 2 weapons there and haven't been able to get myself to go back.
I don't think I'll ever grind something in the ARR relics beside the paladin one, I'm glad I picked tank because forcing dungeons is so much easier as tank or healer
While this is probably more or less accurate on the basis of time investment, still gotta take into account how tedious and painful some of the steps are. Books get so old so fast. Sure it may only take like an hour to do a book, probably a little longer, but they're enough of a painful grind as it is. and that's just *one* step out of 8. And while ShB may take longer, the relic doesn't get as tedious as fast as the Eureka weapon does purely because it's a more varied grind where the Eureka weapon is just FATE grinding, more FATE grinding, even *more* FATE grinding, and finally a number of BA runs.
The main reason why book get so old this fast is surely because nowasay, you're doing them all alone which add a bit more pain to it.
Bozja and Eureka would be double sided, on one side it can just be a painful grind with boring an repetitive thing, but on the other side there is a chance you get with a nice group of people and you didn't even noticed that 3 hours had passed
Honestly everything but Zeta and Lux looks like they barely put any effort into it.
It’s part of the reason I’m against relic zones, as if they can’t give us a top tier glamour it’s basically a waste of time for something that is at best crafted primal tier.
They really need to tie in more than just the weapons. Relic gear needs to be a thing and act as an alternative to just grinding Savage raids every week!

It's a shame the elemental casting set is dogwater, the elemental 'tanky' set is the BEST looking which is why it's always shown off when talking about the elemental gear.

I have a very long term goal of completing every relic weapon for every job, I've already done ARR and HW and have my first EW one. ShB is just a long term grind and EW I plan on doing passively while levelling my alt jobs to 90 using MSQ roulette once DT drops. SB however is a beast all it's own, I HATE Eureka and the fact the the entire relic is 100% gated within that content has infuriated me ever since it first came out.
For some reason the only weapons i ever liked the HW relic and.. TEA XD whenever i look at a weapon nowadays i don't care
At least now, I really like the direction they have for weapons. i wish they'll do effects involved with the raid tiers (like E10S black smoke effect or something)
and I'd like the relic weapons involved with msq (like sin eater theme weapons for shadowbringers)
with good models that standout, not bland skinny gun or plain old samurai sword
Even Bozja themed weapons would have been nice. we have so much effects from the skill abilities to the queen/fire+ice (ignore zurvan)
hell even a checkered pattern effect on the savage armor would of made this game better imo and not just... alright, for now

I did my ARR relic grind for warrior and ninja so I just want to know for other expansions how are the difficulties compare to ARR

nah, I literally stopped playing the game once they did that. His quest are booring and just waste time out of my life I cant get back, for unfunny "memes" and a complete was of a decades worth of time. If ff aint gonna respect my time, they aint gonna get my money

Just my opinion ARR is an ok introduction, HW was pretty funny but the rest... eh? stormblood ruined my vibe onwards but at least the skip cutscene "grind" wasn't so bad
Endwalker is going in the right direction tho, especially for the weapons and trialk

no its NOT subjective that forcing me to waste DAYS OF MY LIFE on a decade old side joke content is ok for a loot lock out. Im not salty I just respect my time, i work full time, and what down time I have that isnt school or photography is split between a few games of choice, and an MMO that takes time and money is the first to get cut when I feel its not worth the value in terms of the other games I have to play, as Yoshi himself says often, take breaks come back. I got the Dragoon and Paladin Anima LUX in 2 weeks, and I didn't even try to get it, Heavensward relics are BY FAR the "easiest" ones to get.
The new Relics are honestly just too easy and passive, they don't take any effort. It's at least made me go back and do the Relics with actual content during the drought though.
😅its a bit sad with RPR and SGE since you only have the one relic questline tho... Would be nice if they got updated some time with new Relic models.
Having finally started my Anima Weapon grind, I think it's crazy that the total Tomestone cost of the Manderville Weapons is the same as the cost of ONE STAGE of the Anima Weapon, which also requires alternative resources.
I'm ready for a real grind in Dawntrail.

I can't find glamour so hightech to fit the aesthetics of the final Manderville weapons, I feel like they belong to Solution 9
A mix of lvl 50 tome gear, lvl 70 tome gear, Allagan gear, omicron/omega, and the newest pvp trophy crystal sets do a pretty good job of making a glam that themes well with the newest relics.
But if none of these fit your tastes, then understandable 👍

I've been enjoying monk for melee and bard for ranged dps on controller. Summoner is also pretty straightforward for magical dps
Samurai/reaper.
Monk gets quite complex endgame.
Seriously now... the effort for relic weapons is getting more and more ridiculous... back then, at least you had something to grind, grouped up and made new friends - which ended up making the grind a lot of fun in a way, even if it was stressful. Today you just have to farm stupid stones and only grind inis/dungeons for stones to buy the mats and you're done.
Eureka was grind-heavy, but the bottom line is that it was fun. Even the A Realm Reborn Relic was more varied than today's nonsense, where, as I said, it's all about buying objects for stones to redeem them and then you have a finished Relic.
It's a shame that the level of quality effort for today's new relic weapons has sunk so low.

Agreed. I'm doing Eureka right now and it's blast playing with others. It feels like FFXI where there are real stakes. The Manderville weapons are ridiculously easy to get. Looking forward to doing Bozja next.
@@JamieBarrington I finished my Eureka Dark Knight relic weapon today, it was worth the effort and I personally really enjoyed it, even though it was grind-heavy. I'm also going to slowly finish the rest of the Eureka weapons for my remaining classes piece by piece, especially since I had been saving them in case I ever need a side hustle.
The sad thing about the current relic weapons is simply the point that they just aren't anything "meaningful" anymore that you had to go a long journey to get, like back in the day.

Even with very cheap & uncreative maded Relicmode in Endwalker Relics, I did not cared any moment to get even just 1.
I dont see them as usefull. I dislike the weapon design. Its ugly or to much bloated graphical effects, hidding my character.
Relic weapon become outdated after next expansion, since they dont level up with character.
Weapons from MB are way cheaper and faster - And can do all content with it too till the next first 7.0 tome gears shows up!
