    Damn! I am going to community college to become a dental technician. We do waxing of full contour crowns the old fashion way, but this just makes it 100x easier!

      Are you also suppose to put extra wax along the margin when you seal it? That way when you cast the wax pattern you have extra a little bit of extra metal remove without over finishing? This is assuming your casting it in metal. jw

      Michael Khoun It is not necessary to add wax to the margin. In fact I discourage it. At minute 8 in the video you can see the carver is held at 45 degrees to the margin when carving the margin. This angle produces a slight 45 degree bevel at the margin that provides the excess wax necessary for finishing in metal.

    Doesnt the softening of preformed wax crown allows it to distort when it is being settled on the die under pressure?

    Better if wax an built your self,this is what call fixing takes double the time....
