The problem is people aren't ready to pay to a genuine seller but to these crooks. I thought about selling my 7 years old polo which has done 81000 kilometers and still haven't faced even a single issue and still looks like a new one. People came with their mechanics who checked thoroughly my car and found it perfect but when it came to pricing all they had to say is there is no resale value of this car so they can pay a meagre amount. So I showed all of them out door and decided not to sell it.
We should thank the car owner that he shared his experience for awareness of other people.

I believe, if we are buying used car then, we can reduce the risk by:
Buying petrol
invest max to max 2.5 lk
Keep buffer amount for any initial running repairs
Buy from individual seller not dealer
We can have argument, rules, fights etc with individual and not with dealers
Individual will also agree to hold 10% amount with a friend cum middle man
Settle the amount if car does well in the initial couple of weeks
Take a mechanic friend while buying the car
Give him good tip
The car mechanics are always positive to earn extra bucks on holidays just for a visual inspection

Not even 10% , alsonif he asks for 50-60% its worth it....after paying that much amount you can pay him in installments in 1 month ,and you will get 1 month to drive....and check

Every second hand cars has some repairs after all it is second hand car petrol cars have low milage that's why people buy diesel.
German injectors and dsg are most scary part! I sold Vento for same reason but I miss the ride and built quality of German car!
I can understand his pain. I was going through the same situation. I checked around 22 elite i20 diesel in 5 months and almost got duped 4 times because of meter backing and accident history. But I always got saved because I checked the service history. And in the end, bought Nexon diesel at a good deal. So always check the service history first no matter what.

Moral of the story: If you want to buy a second hand car, go for a petrol car instead of diesel if possible. Also take a mechanic or a person with you who has knowledge of cars. Check kilometre, history of the car, etc. And always buy a less driven car.
Best way to buy second hand car is to get from owner.. dealers if you are doing this then you are seriously putting your business into threat. Very sad to know your story brother and lesson for all of us..

mere bhai ne bhi 3 saal pehle vw polo diesel khareed li thi aise hi bina koi checkup krwaye. baad mein pata chala ki uska turbo khatam tha 1 lakh lag gye usko theek karwane mein fir bhi gaadi theek ni hui bechni hi padi bahut loss hua tha.

Calculating this guy loss 2014 model Diesel bought for 3.8lakh....estimated cost of repair 1 lakh total cost 4.8lakh....As per motor vehicle rules in Delhi life of diesel cars is 10 yrs...so his car remaining life comes down to 2024....

I bought VW Vento 2013 Diesel Top Model and went through similar ordeal. Just one or other problem would come up every now and then. The turbo had issues. It's always two way sword to buy a used car.
humne bhi ford figo li owner se aur thuuge gaye. lene ke 15 din baad gadi achanak baand hui highway pe. uske relay mei problem hua, fiir 1 month baad uska ac chalna baand hua. abhi 2 month se gadi garage mei khadi hai. ek mechanic ne bhi loota kahake ki iske parts badal diye hai, lekin jab pata kiya tho ussne koi part nahi change kiya tha.😢😢

Bhai pehle toh thank-you ki aapne ye video banaya muje bhi Toyota Etios mil rahi thi 2011 ki model woh bhi 2 lakh mein , par muje thoda doubt aaya toh maine mana kar diya.
1st lesson never go to karol bagh. Lesson 2 if u have no idea about cars take someone who does with you. Lesson 3 pay a little more and take the car to good svc and get it checked out thoroughly before buying do not rely on some nonsense 125 checkpoint sheet the 2nd hand dealer hands out. Lesson 4 take double precautions w.r.t. German cars high or low end.

The same thing happened to me, a dealer sold me a Hyundai Accent 2010 model diesel for 2 lakhs, the engine of that thing was gone, and it often got hot and stopped in traffic suddenly, I spent so much money on repairs, the experience of owning a car became a nightmare, I regretted my decision so much, I should have used that 2 lakhs as a down payment for a new car instead, it would have been a headache free experience.
