You're actually both wrong. I've talked to a bass vocalist, and he told me that it is a 2nd Subharmonic bass, that uses the false folds of the vocal chords. Throat bass doesn't. Acid bass is closer because the 2nd subharmonic is pretty much acid bass + your voice + false folds.

I’d say that’s the only thing holding him back from competing with some of the international champions. Maybe not France, Korea, Italy, Russia, or America, but he’s getting there. Oh also I guess some structure stuff, but he’s looking super promising and I like his stuff a lot
