Pete, I was swapping new rims onto my 94 S320 Saturday. While lowering the car down off the jack, the wheel with the E brake starting making a grinding/creaking noise and car would lurch to a hault attempted to drive. Only on the E brake wheel was this noise heard. Leading me to believe that clearance isn't the problem. Bolt pattern and hub are the same dimensions on new/old rims...rims came off a 300E wagon. I swapped the oem rims back on and problem persists. Wver heard of this happening? 😎
Sounds like something broke within the e brake system itself. I’ve had this happen and had to pull apart the e brake and replace a broken spring once. It’s not a fun job.
Hey Pete. Don’t mean to pester but a suggested brand of pads for quiet braking would be greatly appreciated. Im currently in the US but my car is overseas in Ghana. Hoping to take advantage of being stateside to buy parts for the car. Thanks in advance!
Hey pete , I did my rear brakes and rotors but the e brake stopped working . Is the problem because I haven't done the front rotors and pads
would you happen to know if the bleeder valves are the same on front and rear calipers? I mixed them up .. no leaks but still wondering.

Hey Pete. Any suggestions on the best brand of brake pads for the w140? Particularly for quiet braking

Could you have a couple strong friends lift the car? I mean it isn't like it weighs two tons does it?
Lol.
