definitely a cool setup. maybe not as cool looking as using a hot hand, but cooler in that you could use the controller for more than just wobbles, which is only part of the dubstep sound. i think combining them would be the coolest thing. you could use the hot hand for a manual wobble, and the controller for quantized wobbles and other effects. and i imagine using a roland vg 99 and divided pickup would let you do some even crazier stuff what controller are you using?
@TheRealButtcheddaa Hey wow thanks! For the wobble I actually just used a wah and programmed my controller to change it at different rates. A wah is basically a filter, and they use low-pass filters when making wobble bass sounds in Dubstep. How long have you been playing guitar? You sound like a potential sound designer. Good luck with the replication, let me know how it goes
@06RPB LOL if Hendrix heard this, he'd want one...and exploit the crap out of it....he was an innovator.....and used to twerps in his day saying he was "awful" lol......good job guys keep up with that would love to hear where this leads.
@LanOsb133 So we finally tried this out on a bass today... In words that people who listen to Dubstep can understand: The sound was beyond dirty. That's all I will say for now.
@rchave I use the term "haters" to express that group of people that just feel the NEED to give negative criticism to whatever video. This was our first time attempting something like this but all in all, we are super friendly fun loving bros that want to advance our music through technology. We got some projects in the works, and while this one may be poorly mixed going through only 2 condenser mics, these next few I assure you wont be. Sry for playing the cymbals too much haha
it's a bluetooth keyboard. he has it connected to a laptop which also has the output of the guitar coming in. he mixes it live with preset distortions using the keyboard with hotkeyed shortcuts, of course that's an oversimplification
@rchave oh, and we would like to think we arent big headed at all, we just want to show the world what we are capable of. because lets face it, the music industry is rough, and god knows we arent a bunch of Justin Biebers. WE LOVE EVERYBODY. thx for the comment, at least we know you watched the video :)
@DeadandDECAYED99 I don't see how it's a waste of a guitar. Dude can probably play real good and I'm sure he can play other stuff besides this. It's actually a real neat innovation and I give him props. Checked out your videos and from what I can infer, you're all about metal. That's cool and all, but you can tell these guys aren't going to limit themselves to metal or rock in general. Which is great. He's breaking the limits on the guitar and going beyond the norm. If that's a waste, then okay.
Are the wobbles preset on the pad thingy? And also is it a low pass filter for the wobbles like in regular dubstep? I Assume you are achieving this with a wah pedal? I don't know, I'm really new to this stuff.
Which is better, that calculator (XD) or the Hot Hand (that one as Nathan Navarro or The Real Mukatu use)? I'm not a guitarist or bassist but I wanna know anyways. XD
You guys are revolutionary i have never seen anything like your band keep it up
dude that was awesome it sounded really cool. great job!
great work dude, i like the little jump you do there :D
Dereks face in the beginning, priceless.
DUde totally worked auditions with you once and saw you at heavy rotations, Badass!
if its like a korg deal, you can run it to pre the signal, into the line in on the effects unit, out into a DI into the amp

Truly odd, but facinating.

i know the guy who made this, ill make sure he see's this! :)
Do share how you get your wobbles! Maybe a tutorial of some sort?
it's a bluetooth keyboard. he has it connected to a laptop which also has the output of the guitar coming in. he mixes it live with preset distortions using the keyboard with hotkeyed shortcuts, of course that's an oversimplification
so fucking sick!
@kfmusica lol NIICCE, good times at those auditions :)
@Seagerash Hey man, sorry this is so late, but thanks for watching. We checked out your videos...and we've subscribed! Good stuff :)
@karrodeadd looks like a bluetooth keyboard and touchpad, like those DealExtreme sells. The software he uses is the real deal!
This was güd
Your cap is dropped! The Basseline did!

OMG Derek...♥️ Ur expressions...u killed me
I'm not mad about dubstep, but that was really cool!
Son, I am impress.
@xH3FANTICx ah that's sick, it was meant to be!
its the wobble yo
I still like that part :)
@SSSTopgun1 It's a Washburn

Hello mate, love the video, can you please tel me were you got that device please I do the same kind of music and I need something like this. Thanks
Derek you're too crazy
@deathmast403 its a custom made midi controller. Matt Bellamy has a similar one.
What effects did you use? The wobble effect is really sick and I wanna see if I can replicate this on my guitar.
@ollie9edward8crooks Thanks for the great pointer man, I'll have to try that out!
this is siick man
omg what they've done with this guitar
How ? o.o, Dear Santa I want a Dubstep guitar for christmas ;)
what is that your using for the dubstep stuff on the guitar?? its amazing!! :)
@DeadandDECAYED99 I don't see how it's a waste of a guitar.
Dude can probably play real good and I'm sure he can play other stuff besides this.

Which is great. He's breaking the limits on the guitar and going beyond the norm. If that's a waste, then okay.
Ill do it on bass.
Where can I get an onboard midi controller like that?
*It, *really,*it's, *it's, *piece.
Dig the innovation. What do you have strapped to the Paul?
how do you connect your bluetooth device to your guitar to make it sound that way, its pretty interesting
NICEEEEEE!!!
Is the only effect on that from the pad and what is that like a type of kaoss pad it looks like one but I've never seen it with keys
alright seriously how does that work im willing to do it to my guitar
You should post a tutorial of how you did this. I wanna know!!!
@marsrover001 This was made before that video, and before they got their bassist.
check out the occasional wobble in emmure's solar flare homicide, done with guitar :D
I believe he is using GT10 Fx FloorBoard (Software) and macroing parameters on a bluetooth keyboard..
there's going to be a new dbstep santa 3 and im in it so watch it
He has something like a Tetris on his guitar.
can you send me a link for the guitar everytime i look for it they say it unknown
And a Big. Phat. B-B-B-B-B-B-Bass Line. WUB-WUB-WUB!!!
can i use this song for my introductiones of video ???
@TheRealKopkip Of course you did..
WE WANT NATHAN!!!
@mangledmonkey no, what you're talking about is drum and bass. Dubstep is different.
Are the wobbles preset on the pad thingy? And also is it a low pass filter for the wobbles like in regular dubstep? I Assume you are achieving this with a wah pedal? I don't know, I'm really new to this stuff.
Oh and would your setup work with an electric standup bass?
way to perpetuate stereotypes by having a calculator on your guitar ;)
i'm not sure if you're serious or not... but if you are
it is not a phone, but it is used to change the sound.
Which is better, that calculator (XD) or the Hot Hand (that one as Nathan Navarro or The Real Mukatu use)? I'm not a guitarist or bassist but I wanna know anyways. XD
how do you attach a bluetooth device into your guitar?
Just wait until the crabcore bands get a hold of this...WE'RE ALL DOOMED.
Sounds surprisingly similar to Ganja White Night - Peace by fear.
What is he using on his guitar? What is that sort of calculator?
www.amazon.ca/2-4GHz-Wireless-Mini-Keyboard-Touchpad/dp/B003I1GVRY/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1339481835&sr=8-9

Ur facial expressions r priceless :D

Yeaaaahhhh!!!!
@123maxgreaves An instrument is made to make music, not to be a collector's item. Also, there isn't any way that he is abusing it.
Shit yeah
is this a pearl vision drum kit? what type and finish is it?
1:40 like an old internet when you connect
