My employer had me download Atto for clocking in and out. However, I have concerns about this app... Could my employer use it to track my location while I'm off work? Monitor my phone usage while on or off the clock? Or tap into my microphone and listen in on conversations? Or am I just being paranoid?
Hey Martin! Not at all it's a great question and Hubstaff does not allow employers to track location data while the timer isn't active. Also, location features would need to be turned on for the organization and the employee would be able to see if location tracking as a feature is active or not. Also, there's no feature on our app that allows for audio to be recorded. Hopefully, that helps! @@Helltofell no Hubstaff only tracks location data if the organization has it enabled and if the employee has the Hubstaff app open and is actively tracking time. If they're not tracking time or they have their data turned off location data is not being tracked at all.

I m not too good with technology ... and yes the organisation has set up the location option on the phone , does that mean they only track the location while I.m using the app and not the phone or just when internet is turned on ? Hey there! Great question if the Hubstaff app is downloaded on the laptop it will only ever track data while the employee is clocked in. And the type of data collected is entirely customizable, so the admin can choose what information should be collected. Time can also be tracked using the web browser instead of the desktop app if activity tracking isn't important. Does that help answer the question?
A app I am being forced to use also said the same thing yet they make me check off ‘always’ track. So if I don’t shut it off in the weekend it shows everywhere I was. They say oh no we don’t track when you aren’t clocked in but I’ve found out that was a lie.

i was actually looking for a software that lets you keep track of time and gps location. no monthly payment... for a small business. instead of having a notebook for each person(2 people) to track their time or keep calling to know their location.

most of the tracking is using mobile apps, is it possible by using some other devices for example bluetooth 5 devices or any ble beacons and tag to ttrack movement of employees?
