its so awesome to see somebody that has such a positive attitude about really putting forth effort in school. congratulations on your journey my friend.
Right now, we are studying bio and I just try to make it fun. Once I find it enjoyable I began to teach some of my friends since both of us ask questions and both of us explain which benefits the both of us. So, thanks for giving me a few more tips! I'll share this with my friends as well and hopefully I'll improve in bio and also a few other subjects I'm not quite good at XD
Honestly, the main thing I'm struggling with is the mentality. I just can't really get myself to study Biology, when I could be studying Spanish or English. It's frustrating, and I understand most of the stuff, I just don't want to. :/ I don't really know what to do about it.
I’m in medical school, and I just started a few weeks ago, and I studied well for my first biology quiz. I even solved worksheets and used the text banks from last year. I explained to my friends, and I understood the subject like it was my second name, but when I came to the quiz, I messed up big time. It always happens, and I don’t know why. Even tho I don’t memorize, I mostly understand then memorize, but I don’t know what I do wrong, so if you can tell me, it would be a great help
@@NathanWu The questions mainly vary between application and your knowledge. I find it easier to solve the ones where the answer is really in front of me. Still, the other questions, when they detail and get a patient's symptoms, for example, examining the type of tissue damage he has, I get stressed since I know all kinds of tissues and by his injury, I can tell the difference. Still, I don't know what goes wrong, and I end up mixing up between those types of questions.
This happens to me too, but I see it as exam anxiety..we try to over come it by doing more past papers and studying more because there is nothing which cant be learnt
when the semester starts I like to study every day, whether it is just an hour of biology or math, or history,( term, concept, etc). because when mid-term/exams I personally attain a grasp of the subject. Hope I made sense lol, you all are Intelligent remember that

Hi I'm your new subscriber, and I just want to thank you for giving tips. As a high schooler, I find it hard to memorize especially because there is now k-12 which we had extra science subjects like biology, chemistry and physics. My exam is next week, and I am now feeling comfortable studying, since I always stress out no matter how much I study I forgot the lessons and wasn't able to get good score in the exam. I know that studying hard makes stress but I haven't had time to do different techniques as I thought I would just waste time but now I have 1 week to prepare and study for my exam. I just want to thank you because I use the tips and I was able to understand Biology well. And feeling confident I would at least have a passing score in biology. Again thank you for this and the tips. ❤
I'm taking bs biology as a pre-med course and I'm worried how I'll survive it. I definitely suck at biology, chemistry and physics and enjoy studying maths than any of the mentioned subjects. However, my grandfather and my aunts want me to become a medicine doctor, so I'm kind of force to become one. Any tips on where to start studying Biology? Especially now that I'm months away before college 😭 Would appreciate your response!
I feel so helpless in biology, I did everything I could, I revised, I studied hard, paid full attention in class, but I CAN NEVER GET THE KEYWORDS RIGHT. I don’t know what else I can do really. I just can’t do well in biology no matter what I do. I tell myself others can I also can, and I’m not even a student with poor grades, I get high marks in every other subjects except biology, but I just can’t do well??? What can I do???
Yo I relate to you so much like waking up at 3 am like yeah I still remember the days when I slept at 1.00 and woke up 4.30 for biology exam I don't want that to happen this year that's why I'm here And what I learnt no matter what videos I see it's still gonna take a lot of time to finish one chapter like you took 3 hrs Thanks tho I thought I was lacking but it seems like that's how it works !! I'll try to push myself thanks for the motivation 🔥
I’m having extreme difficulty with note taking in bio class. I saw your other video explaining that you should take notes on the slides themselves. Which is what I have been doing but I feel as tho it is difficult for me to go back through all the slides when I am reviewing notes. And in class the prof goes too fast so I can’t actually write down in a notebook what the slides have. Do u think it’s a good idea to right what the prof says in class on the slides then after class to take notes directly from the slides in a notebook? Or is there a better way because Ik that will be very time consuming, but if it’s the best way I’m willing to do it.
Damm, I am taking college biology in person next month and since I am not good at science and have not really study in virtual class, I am really nervous about it.
Hi Nathan! I am truly benefiting from your content! Do you have a video on how to pass a Calculus and Analytic Geometry course? Thank you my friend, take care.
hey nathan, thank you sm for the videoo! im also studying ib biology at high school at the moment but I always find myself spending an excessive amount of time contemplating if I need the information or not and whether I should take a note of it or not. Do you have any tips to overcome this and be efficient in my time/ studying smart? Thanks again!
Hey Nathan, i loveee these videos, just wondering how you would take notes if your teacher/prof doesn't provide you with slides that you can annotate on? thank you!
OMG thank you, Krittika! It really means a lot! I've never encountered a bio teacher/prof not giving out slides... Do they use ppt and just not give you access to it? You might just have to rapidly type everything on the screen or board, which is not ideal, but you gotta do what you gotta do AHA
@@NathanWu Thank you so much for replying! Yea they just don't give the ppt slides out which is annoying but we move haha. Thank you again for these vids and I hope your studies go well!! :))
My biggest problem in botany is my botany teacher She doesn't explain most of the topics and I just feel lost not knowing any terms at all And when I try to get the answers from online it just consumes a lot of time and hey I wanna study other subjects too
hey, i was always confuse how to revise my studying with answering the questions. i mean like ... i dont know how to find the example of hundreds of multiple choice questions. where do i can find it ? where do i can find the sample questions to test my studying session, can you help me ? btw, I LOVE YOUR VIDEO SO MUCHHHH
See if your teacher/prof has past papers for you. Your textbook should also have practice problems for you to work on. And thank you!! Welcome to the channel :)
I never study for tests or do my homework and mostly spend my afternoons with friends or doing my hobbies and get 1-2 (A-B for Americans) from every subject. Idk I have just been like this since elementary school and next year I will be doing my final exams and looking for a university. I also study on a bilingual school, so half of my classes are in my native language (slovak) and the other half in german. From some subjects like maths or history I got the best mark from the whole class and that's just because I like the subjects and actually pay attention during the lessons. A lot of teachers hate my lazy attitude because they know I have potential, but I just don't want to spend hours of my life studying and instead want to enjoy my life. The problem is biology. I hate it so much. There isn't anything to logically understand like in physics or chemistry or maths, and compared to history I don't find it interesting at all. Last semester I nearly got a D and tomorrow I have a big exam. I am fucked.
Does biology grade 12 in summer school good? Because I love biology but until know I got 40/56 in first test and 40/49 in my first lab I thinking to drop the course and take it second year in summer school again I feel I really confused And it my first year in Canada school so I feel so scary to take it in person I took a lot of notes but the time of test was not enough to me so I didn't answer 3 questions, so sad I need advice :(
I am hating it. I thought it’d be good, but I’m not understanding the slides and falling behind due to procrastinating and not wanting to do hours of work each day. I know I can probably do it too which sucks
Hi nathan! This also applies to the professors who are challenging, right? I will be taking Biology this fall and I'm anxious due to how I felt in AP Bio back in high school.
@@useo.haessal it really depends on you. What I can say is, AP bio is hard since there’s just so many information you need to learn before that test in May. The hardest part is knowing the concept. Memorization is NOT enough.
just wrote my bio test, i studied and really understood everything but still got a low mark :( this is bad because uni applications are around the corner
I'm really sorry to hear that, Tracy. Sometimes, even with all your effort, you still don't get the mark you want. It's disappointing, but you can take comfort in knowing that you gave it your all and that's all anyone can ask for! Please don't give up or lose hope. There is still time to bring your mark up as uni decisions continue until late May. Review your test and see where you got wrong so that you can better prepare for your exam. YOU'RE BRILLIANT SO DON'T STOP TRYING
I am taking Biology this summer and it is completely online. Our work consists of reading the book, a multiple choice smartbook assignment and our lab. Do you have any suggestions?
i have the same thing with homework only teachers they write you up if you dont make it and they can actually have you in detention for it but they dont do the thing like dentention the hour after school for you they pick the last hour that they are there and day you have to come that hour which mean you need to wait 4 hours at school yes you cant go home because idk adn then you have detention love that its so fricking stupid
Heey, I like studying Biology, but recently I wanted to reduce the amount of time I spend on it because I want to understand more in less time. However, when you said you studied 3 hours for one chapter, I thought that what happens to me is really normal and it's going to continue happenning. I understand really good in this way, but time is value and sometimes I just want to move on and study more content in less time. What do you recommend me? Thaanks
I think he can't help you with dat ,cuz diff peeps have diff learning time so if your brain can't process the info fast there is nothing in this world which can change your learning time, yeh you maybe able to boost your learning ability by training your brain which is by spending more time in studying
I have an issue, if you got a textbook (AP biology) and I was told to study the entire book because their will be a bit of everything on the exam. Do I continue to the next chapter of the book even though I don’t have a full gasp of the previous chapter or do I study the the same chapter for a few days before moving on? Note:I have 6 months before the exam.
Well don’t put all your trust in me I would just like you to understand that I doubt that they will ask questions about a specific chapter in detail if that was the case no ones passing but I do advise grasping the main concept with little side notes for each chapter and also info that may seem like it would be included in the assessment personally I think you should at least attain some info of all the chapters more like the main points not much beyond that (I’m kinda tired idk if any of it made sense)
my bio teacher only gives us like a day to study. I did so bad on my digestive system and circulatory system. Any tips on recalling information for 2 chapters in one night? *IB student cries*
I really hate how I need science because it’s that weird. “Fun hard” it’s fun to do but hard to learn or fun to talk about but hard to learn how to talk about it
Use the quizzes to help boost your overall mark. You gotta be strategic in knowing the mark breakdown. If you know you do well on certain assessment styles, use those to your advantage

i think biology is relative to science since biology is about the different experiment with human body plants animals and machine
Biology is specific in the sense that there is a lot of content and processes unlike any other course
I love 💕 biology infinity ❤️❤️❤️❤️♥️ this video is very useful thank you
Biology partnersss
lol this saved me today, thanks for the helpful tips 🙏🏻
You don't know how much that means to me!! 🥰
My biggest problem in botany is my botany teacher
She doesn't explain most of the topics and I just feel lost not knowing any terms at all
And when I try to get the answers from online it just consumes a lot of time and hey I wanna study other subjects too
thank you so much for this video , can you done one for planning how to study for a semester
hey, i was always confuse how to revise my studying with answering the questions. i mean like ... i dont know how to find the example of hundreds of multiple choice questions. where do i can find it ? where do i can find the sample questions to test my studying session, can you help me ? btw, I LOVE YOUR VIDEO SO MUCHHHH
Because I love biology but until know I got 40/56 in first test and 40/49 in my first lab
I thinking to drop the course and take it second year in summer school again
I feel I really confused
And it my first year in Canada school so I feel so scary to take it in person
I took a lot of notes but the time of test was not enough to me so I didn't answer 3 questions, so sad
I need advice :(
I am hating it.
I like how short his intro's are
Short and sweet
I love u already
Hahaha thank you
just wrote my bio test, i studied and really understood everything but still got a low mark :(
this is bad because uni applications are around the corner
I'm really sorry to hear that, Tracy. Sometimes, even with all your effort, you still don't get the mark you want. It's disappointing, but you can take comfort in knowing that you gave it your all and that's all anyone can ask for! Please don't give up or lose hope. There is still time to bring your mark up as uni decisions continue until late May.
Review your test and see where you got wrong so that you can better prepare for your exam. YOU'RE BRILLIANT SO DON'T STOP TRYING
@@NathanWu Thank you so much for the motivation ✨✨✨
what percentage of bio do you think is skill based instead of content based?
Content is 80, skill is 20 roughly
I am taking Biology this summer and it is completely online. Our work consists of reading the book, a multiple choice smartbook assignment and our lab. Do you have any suggestions?
Omg thank u so much I got 4/15 😮
Yeah, i found it weird that i never found homework as well... homework either. kinda was just able to do it in class.
I don't think it's helpful
Not me taking notes about how to take notes
i have the same thing with homework only teachers they write you up if you dont make it and they can actually have you in detention for it but they dont do the thing like dentention the hour after school for you they pick the last hour that they are there and day you have to come that hour which mean you need to wait 4 hours at school yes you cant go home because idk adn then you have detention love that its so fricking stupid
@@ghostofday5025 Yep, thanks
Use chapter summaries. Don't study everything little thing
im in high school taking biology , but my teacher doesn't make us do notes which doesn't really help me for the EOC.
Thank you so much
my bio teacher only gives us like a day to study. I did so bad on my digestive system and circulatory system. Any tips on recalling information for 2 chapters in one night? *IB student cries*
Watch my most recent video!! I studied a topic that covers 2 weeks in 1 day ruclips.net/video/u4T9uo1a2HE/видео.html
I really hate how I need science because it’s that weird. “Fun hard” it’s fun to do but hard to learn or fun to talk about but hard to learn how to talk about it
I'm tryna shoot for stars & get into McMaster's bio program, I wanna become a doctor.
McMaster has one of the best medical schools in Canada and even the world! Good luck man
I wish I could email my teacher lol. She won't answer any emails, even when she's free
what do you do if you do well on quizzes but on multiple choice exams you get 70s
Use the quizzes to help boost your overall mark. You gotta be strategic in knowing the mark breakdown. If you know you do well on certain assessment styles, use those to your advantage
i failed in biology so here im
Hey can you do a video for creating a study planner and how to spreading work over a week or month
Interesting idea.. I'll consider it! Thanks for the suggestion
3 hours for 1 chapter?? It takes me 8… idk what I’m going wrong
what colleges did you consider for biology
I applied to Canadian and UK schools
the pass mark was 55% and i got 57% hahahahahahah. it was to decide if i was going to get my national 5 and i did!!!
YESS you did that!! Soo proud of you!!
@@NathanWu thank you bro❤️
3 hours for each chapter ??? it takes me like 10 😭
