That is actually so awesome to me that someone who's actually experienced autism can sign off on the film's realism as well. Glad you were able to get something out of the film as well!
This movie touches my heart because me, an autistic kid who got very uneasy around new situations. Got easily scared of things that shouldn't even scare me. I see myself in Max's shoes of going through life as someone with autism or even someone with Asperger syndrome. I recommend this movie for anyone who has autism or Asperger.
I thought it was great. I wish they could have met .... but it sort of goes with the theme that he would pass away but she would be in a strong enough mental state to appreciate all they did have and gotten.
Yeah I agree with that. I think that it's saddening of course that they didn't get to officially meet, but it's also cool to see Mary come to terms with all the memories and impact they had on each other throughout the film after seeing him passed away on the couch.
I watched this movie when it came out, I was 21, didn't really understand myself at the time, nor the movie Yes it was nice and touching and goofy, I recognized the production value and effort, but it didn't resonate with me that much 15 years later, with diagnosed autism and OCD and whole wagon of sh*t I was lucky to be presented by life, this movie hits differently. Thanks for the review, man
Wow that's genuinely really cool that you realized how much you liked the movie after all of that. I'm glad that you were able to see a bit of yourself in the film cause honestly I feel the same way, guess it's just a testament to how human the film is. Thanks for the comment!
I'm a typical youtuber who mostly just watches a video and hardly interacts with the creator. But I wanted to leave a thank you for giving your review of Mary and Max. I saw this film in my home time of Melbourne, where this film is set in. And someone who grew up bullied at school and feeling an outcast, I feel head first in love with this film. I watched this film when I was back in Melbourne, almost 15 years later. And to see how this film has an impact with an audience to this day, it amazes me. And to hear over people's experience with this film, and make great content about it really gives me a lot of joy. Thank you so much! And I also really appreciate how you also share your own experiences with your audience. Thank you so much for that
"I'm thinking of ending things" is one of my favorite films! Oh and I love Mary and Max and eventually plan to buy it....I was surprised you only gave it a 6 out of ten given how highly you praised it.
I'm super late, but this video is so lovely, the editing, the quality, sad that it didn't get more attention aaa. But I love this movie so freaking much, made me cry, and the creator? Geez my favourite dude, never met him of course, but his story telling like, makes my heart cry. Thank you for making this video, thank you.
Aw thanks a ton for all the kind words it means a lot. Lol, yeah I'm gonna also operate under the assumption that the director of this film didn't assault somebody like everyone else in Hollywood... Glad you enjoyed the vid!
Thanks a ton bro! I really appreciate you feeling sad on my behalf. Obviously it does suck sometimes not being as popular as some others on the platform, but I'm honestly just glad that 4k or so people have watched and hopefully enjoyed the vid at this point.
Lol, the fact that I'm talking about niche movies? RUclips algorithm not favoring me? The fact that I usually take at least 37 decades before I upload? Lol, nah but for real that's super sweet of you to say, thanks for the compliment!
Thanks so much! Honestly I was pretty proud of the editing but I definitely think I have plenty of room for improvement considering the script. Appreciate the sub!
That's super sweet of you to say thank you, honestly I have a lot to improve at but I'm glad that a lot of the people who stumble upon my vids are enjoying them. Hope you like the more that are coming in the future!
A great video about what I feel is an outstanding movie. As an aside I feel you would highly enjoy a song named Hi Ren by Ren, it expertly deals with the themes of self doubt you discussed. It is on you tube and well worth a watch.
So happy you liked the video. Interesting ok I will definitely check out Hi Ren in that case as well; thanks for the recommendation I'm always looking for new music to check out.
Mental Health is usually not represented well, and negative or comedy or shame. You should re release this video from 2 yrs ago. Especially when his new movie is coming out.
Lol, nah it’s not that I didn’t like Kubo necessarily. It’s just that I think there’s a lot of things holding it back from being a great movie like a lazy third act and annoying side characters
Seeing the scene where mary almost commits suicide is the most emotion i have ever felt in a movie. This movie is amazing
That part got me too. When she was reaching for the Valium I actually gasped and went "Nonono!"
great movie, the the scene that got me the most is the ending. when they finally got to meat. when the camera panned to the roof i lost it.
Always glad to see others who love this film.
Right back at ya, definitely glad to see that there's at least a decent amount of people who are aware it exists
We dont love it, we fuckin adore it...
As a person with autism, I love that film so much.

I have waited my whole life for this
That's about how long it takes for me to upload usually
Tears come once that scene begins and the song just makes it even harder to not sob ugly. Lol. Such a beautiful movie.

Thanks a ton bro! I really appreciate you feeling sad on my behalf. Obviously it does suck sometimes not being as popular as some others on the platform, but I'm honestly just glad that 4k or so people have watched and hopefully enjoyed the vid at this point.

I love this movie im autistic and it hits hard
Hold on... I was expecting you to have a few thousand subscribers. How do you not have more subscribers!

Lol, nah but for real that's super sweet of you to say, thanks for the compliment!

I love this movie
Yeah me too, that's why I gave it a 6/10
@@BenEleven1127 what does a 6/10 mean?
This is my favorite movie too 😊
why does the music remind me of the stanley parable?
Did I hear the machinarium soundtrack ?!
Lol, yeah I figured that the feel of that game kinda fit with the feel of this movie in a weird way
Easiest subscribe of my life
Holy crap thanks a ton, I'm glad you enjoy the channel enough to subscribe even though I take actual decades to upload...

rimworld music w
It made me laugh when in the end it was simply a dry 6/10
6/10!?
Yeah I'd say it's above average if I'm being honest
Mental Health is usually not represented well, and negative or comedy or shame. You should re release this video from 2 yrs ago. Especially when his new movie is coming out.
Oh wow I didn't even know that a new movie was coming out! Thank you for the news I don't think I would've planned to see it without this comment
You didnt like Kubo?
Lol, nah it’s not that I didn’t like Kubo necessarily. It’s just that I think there’s a lot of things holding it back from being a great movie like a lazy third act and annoying side characters
@@BenEleven1127 I guess annoying is subjective. And I dunno about the 3rd act being, "lazy "
