Actually a really thoughtful and reflective interview. Our politics may not be the same, but I'd happily work with Murkowski because she'd be fair, analytical and put her people first.
Yes and yes. She seems to be able to represent her people and bring their needs to the table without putting her position in the way. This was a refreshing interview.
In comparison to journalistic clickbait interrogations, conversations are not merely refreshing but healthier. During the poisonous Tea Party, Murkowski was one of the few reasonable Republicans.
This level of bipartisanship is exactly what we need in American politics. And I'm no moderate - I'd call myself a socialist. But I hope that Lisa Murkowski can help steer the Republican party forward to a better place. After John McCain's death and the announcement of Romney's retirement, it's looking grim, but I have hope.
If the GOP congresspeople want to unite the country, they’re going to have to clean up their party… Americans will NEVER forgive or forget the GOP’s role in Jan 6. It will take generations for the GOP to overcome their dishonor. The GOP has drastically underestimated American’s anger toward their treasonous behavior.
The strange irony about Murkowski‘s appointment to the Senate was the fact that four years later, her dad was defeated in a primary who was running on a platform of reform. Even though Lisa was reelected to a whole term, there were a lot of people in Alaska not happy about that appointment. So she impaling have arrival going back 20 years. She’s really built on what Ted Stevens did and making sure that she could deliver as much money as possible Alaska but for many national Republicans, she’s kind of the Kirsten sinema of the Republican party. Didn’t help Trump on kavanaugh or Barrett and she helped sync the repeal of Obamacare. To all the Democrats that think that Lisa Murkowski is a principal politician, ask a Republican if they feel that way, and they’ll say she sold out she keeps getting reelected in her state because Democrats crossover to support her.
Well if large corporations were not screwing over the working class for 50 years perhaps this would be less hollow but they must show in their action that they will take care of the people that work for them and offer people serious social mobility.
Lisa, don't get me wrong, but you're part of the problem. The old Republican in me has so much respect for this woman, and is one of the few "moderates" in the Senate. However, she went with her party's crazy antics when they're in power.
Yes she was, and she gave Donald Trump her support when he won in 2016. The writing was on the wall that Donald Trump would do ANYTHING to keep power once in office, and he did finally on Jan 6th. Then all of a sudden she wants to say she was not a Trump Supporter. YES YOU WERE! Donald Trump was showing his true colors way before he got into office, before The Apprentice, he was putting his bad self on display way back in the 1980’s….
This is a fantastic interview! The best one I have ever seen, really. Who is this journalist? I love how she approached the Senator with respect, and with very insightful questions that she wanted answers to. Zero sensationalism, while crafting a story unique to the Senator and Alaska. I think she should get the first interview with Kamala Harris and the last interview with President Biden. Thank you.
Murkowski, Manchin, Tester, Collins, and Sinema continuously face attacks from both sides of the aisle, yet I really believe that they are 5 of the best Senators who are most committed to actually addressing the issues facing this country, as opposed to playing political games.
I don't know about Sinema. She's very clearly answering to her corporate donors quite shamelessly and has been playing pointless political games. Do agree on the rest though!
It's amazing to me that the State (where abortion is illegal) will force a woman to carry a non-viable pregnancy to term. Doctors will deliver the barely living baby, and the parents can immediately say "do not provide any medical treatment to our child" and they (the doctors and the State) will allow the baby to die. I know this for a fact, because I have been in the pediatric emergency room. It's insane that we force women, that we force couples to go through that.
We've always been a divided nation. That's never going to change. The only time America comes together is when we were attacked by some outside source.
Yes we have always been divided, and we have always found away to keep moving forward no matter what. Today more than ever We NEEDS TO KEEP MOVING FORWARDS
I didn't retire to my 5th generation hometown because everyone (76%) there voted for Trump. How disappointing! We'll see how this election goes... 🐥 👎🏻
Strange interview for a Republican. Republicans like to say they are very pro-federalism and pro states rights. But this means different states have very different policies depending on whether Democrats or Republicans control the state government. So why shouldn't a Democrat (or Republican) move to a state which enacts policies they support? In fact, that's a consequence of federalism and states rights.
Lisa Murkowski enabled the overturning of Roe vs Wade and countless other terrible objectives of the right wing of her party. She could have done better Enabler.
Greedy people love money more than the health of our country. They'll sell out peace for thirty silver coins. There have always been a few people like that, but now, with the Internet, they can find each other and work together to support their greed.
I like what Walz said about learning to compromise without compromising one's morals.
Please.....happens all the time.
This is especially true when you have no morals
If we had 100 Lisa Minkowski in the Senate, we’d get a lot more done, and there would be a lot more “middle ground” to plow.
She is the reason behind roe fall. And partisan court. But I guess kid yourself.

She's a republican?? She's amazing. Alaska is lucky to have someone like her.
She had a chance to boot Trump.
She stood by his side.
She voted for Trump in the past
In comparison to journalistic clickbait interrogations, conversations are not merely refreshing but healthier. During the poisonous Tea Party, Murkowski was one of the few reasonable Republicans.
And she won reelection via run off when the state GOP tried to strong arm her out of office.
So impressive.
Bring here in. It shouldn't be about the parties it should be about the people.

Murkowski is maybe my favorite senator, and I am an incredibly partisan Democrat. Nice seeing this interview.
Sarah Palin didn’t approve of this video … and nobody cared!

What a great piece 👍🏻
FFS she's talking about the redoubt. What a stain.
Beautiful story!
She's a real trooper.
A heroine, in a time like this

i agree. never quite understood the hate Manchin and Sinema got from the left.
Machine and Sinema are horrible senators working in the interests of corporations
@@Porusizethe fact that they are clearly only working for their corporate donors
Thanks for pushing back on her bullcrap that women go full term with pregnancy and just change their mind. It’s refreshing to see that lie called out

She is still far right she helped get Roe removed!!!
No, she and Susan Collins are the only two pro-choice Republicans in the Senate
ASHLEY!?!?
you are a national treasure
Why do Alaskans sound like they’re from Minnesota?
Did she vote for impeachment?

Rino Lisa is pathetic 😅😅😅
The Senator did a great job here, but I feel like the interviewer was a bit immature in some of their exchanges.
