My latest novel, We Appy Few, (quick plug, its a very funny book) was deemed as potentially being so offensive to so many different groups, Amazon put it in the same category as sex toys until I changed some of the jokes. When the majority of the population has to go underground to be able to voice their opinion, its not a democracy.

Just in terms of Ofcom, as Mark Steyn has been saying for a long time, the process is the punishment. More broadly, it's understandable that the big money guys don't want any of this around them. It's all white noise to them, distracting from what they really want, which is to make ever more money while minimising admin time hassle and potential legal/political fallout. The point surely is that this is how things are. There are vanishingly few people willing to put themselves on the line for abstract principles like freedom, especially when one has a mortgage and a family dependent on a reliable income stream. You found a way out, but you are rare indeed. And what happened to you speaks volumes for your husband's support and strength. All best.

A good example at 8 minutes is the vaccine pushers. Dr John Campbell was onside getting his vaccines. But when he followed the science, there were several very qualified scientists constantly trying to insult him, ridicule him and even cancel him from U Tube. Today he can get over a million views for some of his research. The professional insulters have gone quiet for now. But the odd private comment shows the person up. Why follow a person and waste your time if you disagree?

But actually for a lot of the players it is the regular salary that is the driving force for not rocking the boat. If you study say the scandal around Phil Schofield at the This Morning programme on TV. That programme involved dozens if not hundreds of staff - presenters, floor managers, cameramen, make-up etc etc. It also involved senior managers, advertisers, etc etc. All being paid so they can pay their mortgages, look after their children and finance their pensions and holidays. The NHS and the allied professions are similar except they have greater job security. That is why you rarely get doctors sticking their heads above the parapet in this way. To miss an appointment as a junior may mean the difference between working in a nice part of the country, with a guaranteed income and good pension, or working a bad area with the extra stress and workload that entails. This is why in the end, socialism let alone communism does not work very well in practice as the bosses are still raking in the high salaries and getting the Dachas in the country (Russia) while the poor sods at the bottom are being exploited just as much as under a capitalist system. The public sector in Britain has probably never been larger - a kind of hidden communism has developed which needs pointing out in my opinion. And don't mention the growth of academia as a business. Hence so many mickey mouse degrees - they still pay the "academics" their salaries and generates titles such as professor. But well played Katie for showing how it worked at LBC. It was a better station when it was balanced enough to have you and a few others I remember.

A few years ago my wife who grew up in 70s Soviet Union said to me, "You know that Britain is turning into the Soviet Union... I see all the signs, every day and it is getting worse". I didn't think too much of it at the time and just shrugged my shoulders. Now, many years later when I comment on the current situation in this country (and how bad it is), she just says, "I told you, I tried to warn you"... and she just shrugs her shoulders...

Katie, I only came across you perhaps in the last few months, and initially thought that you were an actual comedian who was very well-versed in politics (and not the other way around!) I have been cancelled from a couple jobs before I understood woke politics, and I would and will stand by you. (Of course I’m retired now with a good pension but I still speak the truth even when others look around nervously.)

Just in terms of Ofcom, as Mark Steyn has been saying for a long time, the process is the punishment. More broadly, it's understandable that the big money guys don't want any of this around them. It's all white noise to them, distracting from what they really want, which is to make ever more money while minimising admin time hassle and potential legal/political fallout. The point surely is that this is how things are. There are vanishingly few people willing to put themselves on the line for abstract principles like freedom, especially when one has a mortgage and a family dependent on a reliable income stream. You found a way out, but you are rare indeed. And what happened to you speaks volumes for your husband's support and strength. All best.

I know of a few streamers where cancel culture has put them into the public eye and inadvertently elevated their online subscriber count by sometimes hundreds of thousands.

A good example at 8 minutes is the vaccine pushers.
Dr John Campbell was onside getting his vaccines.
But when he followed the science, there were several very qualified scientists constantly trying to insult him, ridicule him and even cancel him from U Tube.
Today he can get over a million views for some of his research.
The professional insulters have gone quiet for now.
But the odd private comment shows the person up.
Why follow a person and waste your time if you disagree?

Interesting video. Kudos to Katie for her ability to cut through the lies. One point I would add. Katie mentioned the money of the big bosses behind the networks. But actually for a lot of the players it is the regular salary that is the driving force for not rocking the boat. If you study say the scandal around Phil Schofield at the This Morning programme on TV. That programme involved dozens if not hundreds of staff - presenters, floor managers, cameramen, make-up etc etc. It also involved senior managers, advertisers, etc etc. All being paid so they can pay their mortgages, look after their children and finance their pensions and holidays. The NHS and the allied professions are similar except they have greater job security. That is why you rarely get doctors sticking their heads above the parapet in this way. To miss an appointment as a junior may mean the difference between working in a nice part of the country, with a guaranteed income and good pension, or working a bad area with the extra stress and workload that entails. This is why in the end, socialism let alone communism does not work very well in practice as the bosses are still raking in the high salaries and getting the Dachas in the country (Russia) while the poor sods at the bottom are being exploited just as much as under a capitalist system. The public sector in Britain has probably never been larger - a kind of hidden communism has developed which needs pointing out in my opinion. And don't mention the growth of academia as a business. Hence so many mickey mouse degrees - they still pay the "academics" their salaries and generates titles such as professor. But well played Katie for showing how it worked at LBC. It was a better station when it was balanced enough to have you and a few others I remember.

Fear is a very useful tool for those that make ‘that phone call’ or for those that can make or break a career. All it takes is for people to say “No” and the whole house of cards comes tumbling down. Unfortunately, the media is stuffed to the rafters with those of no morals and a desperation to ‘get on’ at any cost. Bless you Kate. I’m an old git who’s still learning about this mad world. People such as yourself have got the grey matter working and have helped to lift the shutters from my eyes. XXX

Really well explained……..you tend to find that the weak, fickle and insecure are the individuals that do this in all walks of life both corporate and otherwise.
The target is usually the individual or individuals they perceive as a threat….either personally or corporately…… I think they call it ‘The Game’………
