The Universal Audio Apollo 8 Quad Thunderbolt has been one the most organic and help tools I've ever invested in. Here's all my home studio gear and other equipment suggestion to make great music in your home studio! -- > www.amazon.com/shop/archiebeatz
I actually wouldn't be that difficult. It's about having the right cables and are you going to be doing any Analog summing. I actually love the hybrid mixing and recording technique. Keep in mind the SSL XL desk is essentially a console made out of preamps. I love it, lol.
I'm still rocking out with the firewire quad. I was curious for the past 2 days on what they had in store for the X promotion. It looks like a great product overall, but I'll hold off on upgrading for now. I just added an M-Audio Octane Preamp for more inputs. It's a nice addition! Either way, I know you're enjoying that AP8.
The firewire is great. They just dropped one on us man, lol.. I feel like my 8 isn't broken in yet. It does look great but I think I'm going to sit still for now as well. Thanks for commenting bro.
B.H.B Mafia They are cascading them with the thunderbolt ports to have extra channels. 2 Apollo 16s give them 32 channels of preamps. Also, DSP can be cascaded as well. If you have 2 Quad units, it gives you 8 DSP processors. I hope this helps!
B.H.B Mafia the Apollo has unison pre bypass mode to where you can use external preamps like API, Manley, SSL, Neve and everything else! It’s a cool device 🙌🏽
The Lynx Aurora converters are amazing and the Apollo is pretty comparable. If it's just the A/D & D/A converter you are going for, I would say get the Lynx. But if you want an all around DSP & Converter center piece, I would recommended the apollo.
So this is actually a rack Emulator. Right? For old equipment..... I wish these all plugins were available for some major mixers like Yamaha Rivage PM10
It has an emulator protocol to it but it's more of an audio interface with it's own processing for the plugins to relieve your CPU of processing. Yeah, I'm waiting on them to release a Universal Audio console with the same capabilities. Thank you so much for commenting Cio.
Yeah that's what I just stated in the description, lol. Just when I hit the upload button, I saw the announcement, lol. smh. We are good though, I'm going to sit this one out because the apollo 8 is perfect for now, lol.
Wondering if you know about the Universal Audio Apollo X6 Thunderbolt 3 Audio Interface, I'm considering getting it for the 6 core processing power, I plan to integrate it with my Apollo Twin SOLO as I'll use the SOLO more so as a monitor controller with an additional core processor which will give me up to 7. My question is if I purchase the Universal Audio Apollo X6 Thunderbolt 3 Audio Interface, will it give me more headroom in my mix in the box? With the Twin I have to damn near peek my drums just to get it to knock. I'm using the Renaissance MPC software, I plan on mixing out of the box then finalizing in the box in Protools 2018 for my final mixes. But prior to the out off the box process I need the drums / 808, & bass to hit much harder. The console I will purchase is the Behringer X32 Digital Mixer (32-Channel). This console will be used separate from the Apollo X6 as the engine in protools. Thanks !
What's up John? I see. Well, I just ordered the Apollo X8p. Once I get it, I will be able to tell you and everyone else a lot more about it. I'm going to cascading it with my Apollo 8 Quad and see how it works out. As far as headroom, I will be able to see if it gives you more or not. A lot of time things are advertised but no close to what they say. With that being said, Universal Audio is honest 100% of the time but I still have to see for myself.
Lil Peeper let’s battle my nigga .. I’ll bust ya ass bro Www.soundcloud/TufflonRecords Y’all young ass wholes have no clue what music is bro. I’m currently in school getting my BA in Audio Engineering. Archie knows what I’m getting at regarding the levels being pushed through interfaces. Since you wanna be so fucking dumb and intrusive??? I found the answer on my own that supports frequencies prior to going through the interface and that’s bouncing down tracks after mixing in the box then mix out of the box and utilize Mastering techniques. So I’m no longer on interfaces lol nigga .. I’m on consoles and analog gear. Fuck plugins for final mixes. Let’s here your bull shit tracks tho? Ps. My SoundCloud is dated like a mother fucker. I got mad heat bro but I’ll keep that shit cuffed unless you’re worth my fucking time. **My Bad Archie.
I know this is an old video but can I just ask - how would you change the input gain for inputs 5-8 if you had to use the software? (I was thinking of buying this exact Apollo but some of the channel indicator lights on the front panel of the unit don't work)
Yes I'm gonna stick with the black also. And my iMac is thunderbolt 2 not paying for a converter cable. I think some up grades are getting to the point if it ain't broke don't fix it. This was a great video AB. I learned a lot. Thanks man.
You are absolutely correct but sometimes we get the "Gear Head" itch and just buy things because it's cool. I'm more of "If it aint broke, don't fix it" kind of guy. But I've been a victim of gear head sickness as well, lol.
Sorry for the dumb question. I just need to record my vocals, does the Apollo twin has the same quality, I mean recording more clear and all that stuff?
I have the Apollo 8 and a MPC x, but when i connect it to the Apollo 8 the sound quality is horrible compared to when I explode the tracks directly from the MPC and load them into my DAW. I want to be able to just play directly into my DAW with out having to explode the drum patterns every time, any tips to make the quality better?
Archie, So, I have an Apollo 8, and I am beginning to contemplate the value of moving over to the 16 before I really get started. Would you agree that either a cascade of two 8's or a 16 would be a base for recording a full band?
They are in the corner, lol. I'm using them for the extra room we are currently have under construction. I'm slowly changing my monitors right now as well. Just got the A7x today.
Hello sir!! Please please please reply me , I'm a singer Songwriter I have a lot of my original songs but I'm not a producer and I always want people to see my music , would you please guide me what should I do?? Sir you are my hope please say something
Hey Shreshth! That's great you are a singer/songwriter. I would suggest that you record some snippets of what you can do and network with producers. If the talent is there, they will be interested (the right ones for you anyway). The other route is that you learn to produce yourself and put your own music out for the world to experience. I hope this helps and thanks for commenting!
@@archiebeatz the producers don't wanna work with you until and unless you are famous or very rich and most of the times they don't even wanna look at your stuff
Yeah bro. I love my Apollo 8 and 2 quad uad 2 satellites. BUT THE APOLLO X8 just dropped. It has 6 dsp chips!! It has better conversion. I’ll be selling my Apollo 8 and getting the new Apollo x8 LIKE NOW!
Hahahahaha, go for it. I may grab 2 of the 6 core next year but I'm smooth sailing for now. Let me know what you think when you get it Rodney! Thanks for commenting brother.

what if i wanted to pair an SSL XL Desk With ALL of these Apollos how hard will that be
I'm looking into making this purchase

DOPE topic but im try to make that investment very sooon
im so tempted on pulling the trigger and switching my apogee quartet to the new apollo x Duo!
What's up David? I totally understand. I would be lost without my Apollos lol.
Man ! The song sound clean. You got to show us how to mix like that. Do something Archie Beatz, do something for us.
Thank you so much. I will in the coming weeks.
Had to go back and check out some of the older videos. Great Song AB..

why do big studios use two or three apollo together

wonder how it sounds compared to a lynx aurora converter.

I would. I'm such a fan of UA's one stop shop with incredible preamps, conversion and overall quality.
