Rap is such a wide genre, that the same people who listen to Lil Baby will give feedback to someone like Danny Brown. No album appeals to every corner of rap fans so it really shouldn't be a surprise when people call it mid. However, I feel like ignoring actual criticisms because you personally like the album is a silly way to look at it, and is another problem with music discourse. I honestly do think it's a mid album. A couple good songs but most of it doesn't really stack up to Tyler's old work tbh. Maybe it'll grow on me, but so far I have no plans to revisit it.
