Suspicious stew with dandelions gives saturation btw, and if you feed a flower to a mooshroom, you can “milk” it with a bowl and get a suspicious stew with the affect of whatever flower you choose, some good ones are dandelions for saturation, oxeye daisies for regen, poppy’s for night vision, alliums for fire resistance, cornflowers for jump boost, and if you can’t get a mooshroom these flowers still work for the stew
I dont think saturation will do anything since theres no natural healing, also it needs to be a brown mooshroom so hes gonna need a channeling trident.

The hanging dude at the dead tree works like a normal villager but you can only trade with him at night and I'm pretty sure that you need some kind of dark essence or corruption to trade with him

For clarification, the shrieking sounds in the cave are the Skulk Shriekers. they are triggered by sound being transferred from a mob to a Skulk Sensor to the Skulk Shrieker
Its definitely the same sound effect but I don't think mobs can activate them without the player. Its probably a mod that plays the sound effect when around a Deep dark biome.
Dynamic Surroundings (the mod giving iron armor that noise) should have a menu in its config where you can tweak every individual sound it adds, so you could hypothetically go in and mute specifically the armor sounds
the whistling you hear is from the man from the fog, its one of the new features he got after they updated him, so he can do much more than just chase you now.

Mining at night is a very smart and important thing people do without knowing. The mob cap increases at the surface during night, leaving less chance for them to spawn at night time.

CALVIN FYI- if you hear something rustling in the bushes late at night, hear whistling followed by a heartbeat or something, it means the man from the fog spawned somewhere nearby, if you see it, DONT LOOK AT IT. bro is like a more terrifyingly dreadful version of an enderman. if you don't look at him, he'll just chill nearby staring at you and I think if you go far enough away he teleports nearby you.
If you bonemeal mushrooms at night or in other wide and dark places like caves, they'll grow into large mushrooms, like tree saplings. Heck, just leaving them in a dark place alone will allow them to spread over time. Edit: you can also bonemeal flowers in a grassy area to get more of them.

The screams in the "deep dark" are from the skulk shrieker, the thing that spawns the warden. It does that scream automatically in the datapack to make it scarier.

You can turn the armor sounds off in the config. Youre either using dynamic surroundings or immersivefx. Their configs will be at the bottom of your mod list in game
In the caves and strip mines placing pressure plates or setting up trip wires with something that makes noise would be a good strategy to use so you know where the dwellers or other mobs are

If you bonemeal mushrooms at night or in other wide and dark places like caves, they'll grow into large mushrooms, like tree saplings.
Heck, just leaving them in a dark place alone will allow them to spread over time.
Edit: you can also bonemeal flowers in a grassy area to get more of them.
Or just grow the mushrooms in podzol.

The screams in the "deep dark" are from the skulk shrieker, the thing that spawns the warden. It does that scream automatically in the datapack to make it scarier.

You can turn the armor sounds off in the config. Youre either using dynamic surroundings or immersivefx. Their configs will be at the bottom of your mod list in game
In the caves and strip mines placing pressure plates or setting up trip wires with something that makes noise would be a good strategy to use so you know where the dwellers or other mobs are
