Wow. This is exceptionally high quality content. The organization and completeness of the topics, the use of visuals, the rapid pace to keep interest up, the purposeful dialog and clear, modulated voiceover. Very professional. Thank you for your generosity in putting this together.
I'm just finally making the move from logic 9 to 10. One of the reasons is that I've been watching your videos while I was making my decision to either go with Logic, or switch DAWs. I'm half way through a couple of large projects, and decided that switching to Logic X would be the easiest route for now. I like the way you teach. Simple. Straight forward. You show people options and also explain why you do things a certain way. Well done.
I've made some good stuff in logic applying my garage band experience, but wow.... I just learned so many keyboard shortcuts, and things like command L to divide up loops and command R to repeat. All this time, I've been working overtime copying and pasting. These little things all add up to a smoother workflow. Thanks you so much for your time and effort.
Outstanding instruction...I went to full sail university for audio production and this is the kind if stuff I paid for l. People like you I am very thankful for. Thank you for your expertise!
16:44 Dude you can add the 0 or -1 or even more if required... To the session, so you don't need to move your entire project to the right and then calculate if you are doing correctly the 8/16/24/32 structures of the song!
this guy is the best by far! concise, clear, very informative, no pretentiousness, down to earth, helpful, easy to listen to and professional!! very refreshing
I hardly ever comment on RUclips but I'm happy to make an exception for this. MusicTechHelpGuy - I really appreciate the thought and care you put into making this so thorough, clear, complete, and intuitive. It's incredibly helpful. Thank you.
By far, the best Logic Pro tutorial available! Some tutorials assume the user is already available with certain terminology, in this tutorial everything is explained in logical, understandable, language.
I'd like back the twelve hours I already spent on Logic tutorials before finding your channel. This tutorial was exactly what I needed at the highest possible quality. Thank you so much for this.
Honestly, big thank you ! They're all out there proposing "courses" on how to learn logic pro for hundred bucks, finding your youtube channel is such a relief for beginners like me! Plus, it's so well explained, great quality, thank you so much !! :)
I rarely ever leave a comment even when I feel strongly about a video but I have to say this tutorial is by far the greatest one I've seen. You have a subscriber for life man. Thank you so much. Take care.
Very impressive tutorial. I just bought a MacBook Pro and haven't touched LPX for a year or so. This is a great refresher and is a really simple, yet comprehensive, breakdown of the layout and tools for somebody starting out.
Hey MTHG, echoing many others...you do an extremely good job with pace, content, clarity, zoom/screen use...It is clear you put a lot of time and thought into this series. I recently moved from PT v12x to Logic and you are making the learning curve quick and enjoyable. Well done and thank you for your efforts!
Wow! Just, Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to do your videos. I've just received my new iMac with Logic Pro X. When I opened the program, I quickly shut it down because I no idea where to start. I tried to watch a couple of other videos but they all tried to explain the whole process from start to finish in less that 12 minutes. Too fast to follow along. I like how you broke it down to Part 1, Part 2,,,, etc. I've learned so much already and have you to thank!
Thanks to you, I wrote and saved my first song in MP3. Didn't know much before I saw your Logic Pro 101 course. You, sir, are a brilliant teacher. Everything is so understandable under your guidance. This is brilliant. Off to lesson 2 !!!!!!!
First, I have no association with the producer of these tutorials, so this is an unbiased opinion. Next, by far this is a phenomenal guide on how to learn and use Logic Pro X. I've pulled out my hair on many occasions and somehow these tutorials have always saved my butt. Brilliant work. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. It makes our life using LPX so much better. I still can't believe how much horsepower is built into this software. You could write volumes and volumes on this tool and still never cover it completely because once your toss in Plug-ins, the combinations of what you can do are truly limitless. I'm very glad that when I started on GarageBand I quickly decided to take the plunge into Logic Pro because I would "definitely" not recommend people try to master of multiple DAWS when any one of these DAWs can consume as much time as you can afford to invest. You can definitely tell that Logic Pro has fully adopted the APPLE design philosophy of simplifying the user experience. They have thought out the User Interface based on Usability first and foremost. I've dabbled in ProTools and Reaper, both great DAWs, but I've found that splitting my attention over more than one DAW was only detracting from actually "mastering" one tool rather than just being "good" on several DAWs. I am still far from being a master on LPX, but this suite of tutorials has proven a lifesaver. Thanks again for taking the time to share your knowledge with us. I appreciate more than I can say.
Thank you so much!! Im so excited to start this series, I just got my new Macbook pro and finally took the next step into my music career! Im so excited!!!!
These videos are the best. I paid for a tutorial lesson that complicates simple tasks and left me dizzy. I have learned so much more with Music help tech guy. Thank you !!!
This is extremely thorough and helpful man. I’m going to be getting logic soon, and this video made it nowhere near as intimidating. I look forward to watching more!
Absolutely top-notched tutorials. The manner and way in which everything is explained serves as a model for all software tutorials. I cannot thank you enough for the videos. For someone who doesn't have much experience at all in this sort of thing, you are the guiding light. Thank you so much again. I am sure this is a sentiment many of use feel. Best regards and wishes.
I'm super stoked for this new series. I'm still going through your other Logic Pro X video tutorial series. They are so helpful! I'm a beginner in the recording arena. I've used Garageband to record a few covers and now I'm using LPX for a couple others. I've been a musician for over 25 years and with the knowledge you provide, I'm gaining the confidence to try my hand at writing. It's so nice to be able to lay down some ideas and see where they take me. I very much enjoyed the video and thank YOU for making it available to watch! :-)
Fantastic work MTHG. I'll be forever grateful for this. I followed this complete lesson and also worked at the same time with Logic. I feel for the first time I'm using this tool with a good sense of direction. You have a new fan in all your platforms. Keep killing it!
Btw, for those who count the bars and don't want to screw the whole project moving all your regions one bar after the first bar, you can actually extent the beginning of the song toward minus values(to the left) to have something like a pre count bar or a anacrusis bar. You can achieve this by going to the number 1 (the first measure) in the cycle bar and when the pointer changes, drag the dotted line to the left. I just saw it in another tutorial because I needed it so hard.
This was an excellent run through with no waffle. Great stuff. Lots of little things that I was struggling to find were quickly and clearly explained. Many thanks.
Great video. I've been using LPX for years and I still learned new things that I glossed over when I was starting out. Great presentation. Clean audio & visuals. Concise script. Throwing a few bucks your way on Patreon. Thanks again! Cheers
Getting started on Logic after Fl Studio is going to be easy thanks to your thorough and concise series of video tutorials! You live up to your name fam
You are a born teacher, I shall watch even though I've already advanced from your previous teaching Vids because I'm bound to learn new things I've missed.
Wow. This is exceptionally high quality content. The organization and completeness of the topics, the use of visuals, the rapid pace to keep interest up, the purposeful dialog and clear, modulated voiceover. Very professional. Thank you for your generosity in putting this together.👍👍👍👏👏👏
I have been looking for a way to figure out Logic and I’m super excited I found this course! It’s super easy to understand and you cover an insane amount of topics! Thanks for sharing, I’m excited to learn more!
Using your videos, I have gained the skills necessary to produce high-quality demos for my band's songs. These videos are excellent. Thank you so much!
Good stuff! I'm not new to Logic by any means, but these vids still really help because you're very thorough and I constantly discover very helpful things that I'd previously overlooked. Thanks for what you do, Josh!
This Video is great! I am using Logic for a while now, but there are always things you did not know. So thank you for your awesome classes and that you share them with us for *free* !
Wow. I just discovered your videos...they are amazing. The best I’ve seen for Logic Pro. I’ve learned a ton, and I’ve only watched 3 videos so far. Keep up the fantastic work!
in 2020 I think this is still so useful, all the videos, really high quality content, thank you for this cool tutorial. the best logic pro x tutorial on yt
that command R is gonna be very helpful to make sections of songs like you said. smooth and easy to explain video and your voice isn’t annoying and over the top like some other videos. really helpful
You are great! I have started with logic two month ago and this is exactly what I've waiting for!!! I have so many ideas but I need the know how. I'm sure that I can make it because of your tutorials. Thanks a lot!!!
Thanks for this. I started DAW stuff a while back with Reaper and I am about to go Mac with Logic. I love reaper but this is a whole new world. So, I've just finished making detailed notes on part one (part two tomorrow). Well explained and well presented. Thanks a million.
Just started watching this -- excellent. I'm a long-time Pro Tools user and would eventually like to make the switch to Logic Pro as I'd rather not pay the month subscription fee anymore. Your vids are always well done and full of useful information. You're an excellent teacher. Thanks.
Yep! Best tutorial I have landed on. I am used to working in pro tools and using keyboard shortcuts. Looking forward to digging into your other tutorials. Thanks heaps, Kudos!
You videos are great!!! Keep it up! I love how you start with the basics. Often I’m reminded of things that I forgot a long time ago. Looking forward to advanced videos too.
I've been messing around with Logic for a little while but decided to get a little more formal about learning it and picked this at random as a place to start. I figured I would know everything in Part 1 of a 'Getting Started' video but boy was I wrong. Great great job with this,.
After searching around for a beginners logic X class I have to say that regardless that I have 10.4.4 this was still relevant and was so thorough that I got a notebook and took off by opening up Logic and following along by clicking back and forth and pausing the video and writing notes while following the steps in Logic Pro and I am now looking for your part two in the 10.3 series because the video that comes up is part two in 10.2. I'm sure I'll find it though just gonna search around your page. Thanks so much man I would definitely pay for this thorough course but I'm happier that it's by donation which you will be def seeing from me! Best, Steve.
Man thank you so much for replying and for seriously being such an awesome thorough detailed teacher. Is it correct to assume I should continue from here and once I finish with 101 anything that has been updated will be brought up in 201? I'm about to start Part 2 "Recording w/Mic". I literally have 4.5 handwritten pages just from pausing this video and following word for word ( it helps me bang the info into my head by writing it & doing it along with the video.
The joy when I learned the command-r! So it was not command-d! aha! Dude I just decided switching to logic from ableton yesterday and I am blessed to find this video. This is super clean and efficient explanation. Awesome content!
Great video! I've been using logic a few years now but I'm all self taught. Even from the beginning this is teaching me all the tips and tricks ( Key Commands!! Woohoo!) that I've been missing. Awesome. Thanks and catch ya on the next one :)
Awesome video man... Great to find a video that goes from the beginning I’m new to logic and every video seems to think you already have a clue. A lot I did work out on my own but have picked up a few good things from This. Will kick on with the rest of the videos now cheers!
Excellent teaching! Very thorough and complete! Your pace, knowledge and clarity is the paragon of any pedagogy! Great work! Brilliant! I'm new to Logic Pro X and am grateful to The God of Heaven and Earth for these gifts in general and youtube in particular(that is the Good, True and Beauty side of RUclips!). Here's to making sweet music that blesses and loves! Cheers!
Wow. This is exceptionally high quality content. The organization and completeness of the topics, the use of visuals, the rapid pace to keep interest up, the purposeful dialog and clear, modulated voiceover. Very professional. Thank you for your generosity in putting this together.

Thanks a lot ❤ I don't have a midi😅

Your teaching style is outstanding! Clear, well paced and easy to follow. Fast way to learn Logic and get going on projects! Thank you.
