You have great insight into aspects of Elvis' career that you don't know for sure, but you are picking up on. ie-this stage of Elvis' career. He had lost much of his audience post 1964 and the British Invasion.
Unfair to the rest of the human race to look like this. What a cultural crime that this man never got to tour the world. He would be totally amazed at the adulation that he would receive.
Elvis concert ......the place to be....then.....and now...even if it is video❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you Mike for taking us with you on the "wonderful world of Elvis" journey ....we are loving this trip. Welcome back.🌻
Santa Claus is back in town - from Elvis’s album It’s Christmas Time. It will knock your socks off as it is unlike ANY Christmas song you’ve ever heard. People confuse the title with a Mariah Carey one, but is nowhere near that vibe. Get ready to be thrilled - by a Xmas carol!!!
I just recommend Merry Christmas Baby and I’ll Be Home On Christmas Day. I forgot about Santa Claus Is Back In Town. Those three make up the holy trinity ❤
Your Elvis reactions are truly unique, and I'm here for all of them. I think this would be fun for you: a reaction to Elvis' audio version of "Fever" released in 1960 followed by his performance of it on "Aloha From Hawaii" in 1973.
Don't know if you know this or not, but the guy to Elvis' left playing the guitar is Scotty Moore and the drummer is D. J. Fontana (by the way, his "drums" is a guitar case that he's playing with drumsticks), they were with Elvis in the early days, 1950s. Steve Binder implored them to be a part of this special to make Elvis a little more comfortable. There is a really great interview with Steve Binder about producing the 1968 special I think you'd enjoy listening to. Thanks for a really great reaction.
In the many videos that Steve Binder has done about the special, he goes into detail about how he & Elvis got away from not doing a Christmas themed special that Parker wanted, & not even ending the show w-a Christmas song, & how one of Binder's people continued to play poker w- Parker, allowing Parker to win in order to keep him out of the way, all the while Elvis would "yes" Parker, but Binder had other plans -- obviously. Are you aware that the bordello scene was cut because it was considered too racy for live TV @ time. Hope you'll be able to get to '72 Greensboro, North Carolina "Burning Love" & '72 Hampton Roads water-throwing incident. Thx so much for all the Elvis. Btw, our PBS TV station is doing a fund raiser & so far I've been able to watch the '68 Special 3x on my large screen.
Thank you very much for all of your reactions to this amazing man, hes so sexy, handsome with outstanding vocals, keep up the good work. ELVIS FOREVER ❤❤❤❤❤
Elvis loved performing to an audience and he sang live with so much more passion. Thank you, as always, for your great reactions, you give credit where it’s due.
The aura he had was incredible. If he'd looked round and smiled at me like that I'd have completely melted ❤ This was the only Christmas song he performed and I think it was a concession (the show actually aired on Dec 3rd). Elvis's Christmas album, originally recorded in the late 50s, is wonderful and such a mixture of genres on one album. Thanks for another excellent reaction.
This was like his second coming - his life was on the up having just become a dad and then the taping of this special - he must have been on such a high - love it 💛💛
You are able to discern and put into words so succinctly qualities and characteristics of Elvis that other reactors do not see or understand. Love your reactions💜💜💜 Thank you🩷🩷🩷

The first Christmas song I listen to every year ... and sneak a listen to throughout the year lol ! I am simply addicted to this man ! Love your reactions to Elvis and your interpretations of the man ... spot on ! Thank you for enjoying him too !
I hope you can do his opening production number "Trouble/Guitar man.". It's fantastic and fun to watch all the background effects. Thanks you react like nobody else. Be Blessed.
Communal, religious experience!! You said that perfectly to explain every Elvis show and concert I attended. All 13 of them were extraordinary and heavenly. He always took me and the whole audience to a better place. Thank you for another beautiful, insightful reaction.❤❤❤
@@kerrypapworth1526, hello! Elvis was even more beautiful in person. My sister worked for him in Memphis and he was the nicest, kindest man I ever met.❤❤❤
Larry Gellar (his hair stylist) also has said that the popularity of the Beatles during this time gave Elvis an incentive to get back into singing & how much Elvis missed singing in front of an audience.
This journey with Elvis is eternal. He created magic without comparison. It's more than his iconic character. It is much more than that. It is enough to visit Graceland his estate after he left us to another world to understand how much influence he has on so many generations. It's not realistic
Mike, thank you for the brilliant breakdown analysis to the Elvis videos you have posted. Ive loved all of the reactions you have done and you are definitely my favourite reactor. Ive been a fan since I was 14 I'm now 68 and your reactions bring back the feelings I had the first time I saw Elvis in the cinema in Thats the way it is. The pure talent, charisma, voice and being insanely beautiful made me fall in love with the man. And i still feel the same. ❤ Thank you, please carry on all the good work.😊 X
Wonderful reaction! You might want to react to his first appearance on the Louisiana Hayride on October 16, 1954. I do not know how that radio performance happened to be saved, but it was. Audio only.
You need to listen to his ‘I’ll Be Home On Christmas Day’ and Merry Christmas Baby’…there are a few different versions of each. It’s Elvis singing blues which is wonderful. Joe Cocker called Elvis the best white blues singer of his time. I think he did Blue Christmas as a bit of a joke (because of the colonel). Michael Buble actually does a superb cover of Blue Christmas.
Mike, you might be surprised to learn that the majority of the audience got there by happenstance. Elvis’ manager, Parker told the show’s director that he would help out by getting the tickets into the hands of Elvis’ fans. But Parker didn’t trust/like Steve Binder, especially the influence he was having on Elvis. So, in his inimitable “dirty tricks” way, Parker just gave the tickets to the guy in the studio’s guard house without any instructions. The guard asked Steve Binder, on his way in ON THE DAY of filming these sitdown sessions, if he wanted any tickets for family or friends. Once Steve realised what Parker had done, he knew he didn’t HAVE an audience for the two shows that day. They went to the diners, stopped people on the street, people in cars, asked a local DJ to make an on air announcement ….. anything to get the tickets to people who could attend the filming. So, just to correct you, the audience was not made up of Elvis fans, although statistically some were, but a group of people coerced into coming to watch Elvis.
ALWAYS LOVED THIS SONG AT XMAS... BUT ALL HIS XMAS SONGS ARE GREAT .ONE THAT HE LOVED ( IF EVERYDAY COULD BE LIKE CHRISTMAS) IS ONE THAT TOUCHES YOUR SPIRIT. AĹL YOUR COMMENTS ARE SPOT ON. THANK YOU🕊🕊🕊
Mike, you have no idea what a pleasure it is to listen to Elvis with you 🫠🫠🫠 And another interesting point - did you know that Elvis had a panic attack before the start of filming and he wanted to give up everything (he lost his confidence in himself so much), but director Steve Binder was able to calm him down and...
I see Elvis and am blown away by his looks, then he sings and I'm blown away by his voice and then there is his stage presence. Elvis can sit down and do what a lot of performers can't even do standing up.❤❤❤❤❤ Another great reaction. Love that you can spotlight something that I hadn't noticed or thought of before. Thank you.
Mike, This was the last time Elvis and his original guitarist, Scotty Moore, played together. These sit down segments were meant to be acoustic only but somehow Scotty managed to bring in a small amp and his electric guitar onto the stage. Elvis came with his acoustic guitar but partway through the segment Elvis was getting a little frustrated that his guitar could not be heard over the amped guitar. At the end of a song Elvis gestured to Scotty that he wanted to swap guitars, which Scotty, quite reluctantly, did. Part of that reluctance is the fact that Elvis was pretty rough on guitars and this particular guitar was pretty special to Scotty. I’m not suggesting this is the reason that Elvis and Scotty never played together again. As I’ve read it, Elvis felt Scotty was no longer a leading edge guitarist and that he was holding the sound back a bit. By 1968, the list of musicians who played at Elvis’ recording sessions already included at least 3-4 guitarists, inc Scotty.
Oh how I wish I could have been born during Elvis' time and how I wish I could have been part of that audience. I'm afraid I would have been thrown out, because I don't believe I would have been able to not storm that stage! 😂...Once again, thank you so much for your fantastic reaction! I absolutely love and adore Elvis. I also look forward to your reactions to him and I love them ☺
You probably heard Elvis's version. In the US it is played in every store and grocery every Christmas. It is part of the background music EVERY Christmas. Elvis didn't sell records like in the past, but he filled the concert venues right up until the end.
New subscriber please keep doing Elvis! You might also enjoy the 1968 special blooper reel because you get more of a sense of his personality, and some interviews too! Definitely ok if you want to stick to song reactions! ‘One night with you’ and ‘heartbreak hotel’ (sitting down) from this same show are amazing!
Don’t worry about stopping. You are very insightful and pull out certain Elvis ways of singing that I’ve never realized after listening to him for years. You’re also very authentic, which I love. Thanks so much. After I’ve watched the videos I’ll put in a request. I’m almost finished because I didn’t want to request something already done.
Thank you for your reaction to this song, its a beautiful song, voice outstanding. I would love you to react to ITS STILL HERE, Elvis never recorded this song, he was sitting at the piano after finishing a studio session, he started playing this song which he had been playing for years he loved it wanted to record it but never did, if it wasn't for the producer taping the song we never would have heard it, his vocals outstanding. ELVIS FOREVER.❤❤❤
Hi Mike, I just discovered your channel today - excellent!! I've already watched all of your Elvis videos and I absolutely love your analyses! I've subscribed and Liked, and I'm really looking forward to seeing much more Elvis, among others! I'm not a religious person (in fact I'm not even a believer) but one of my favourite early Elvis performances was him singing Peace in the Valley on The Ed Sullivan Show - it's sublime! I look forward to your analysis of it some day!
Mike, I absolutely agree with what you said about him manifesting it. Anyone’s house I go to who plays Christmas Carols always has on Elvis singing Blue Christmas. To be able to take a Christmas song and make it your own where girls are stifling their screams because as you once said when someone does a song so uniquely that the audience doesn’t know how to react. I’ve never screamed over a Christmas Song. It would seem strange. But if I was in that room with that man giving those looks,I’d honestly probably just cry. 😢😢❤❤❤❤❤His Christmas albums are great. Thanks 😊 again .
