- Hello everyone welcome to Transit fans here I will be taking about the production cars and burning testing of the R211a in general. Since the post of October 2023 till January 2024. As we know the R211A have about 13 sets on the A line. Also the pilot sets of the R211S has been push back till who knows when it will do the 30 day revenue test. Now the R211T has been on the C line since February of 2024.

So when are the R211 Starting in Staten Island?
It’s unknown when the R211S will do the 30 day revenue service. What I heard is maybe by the second quarter.

2028 is when the r268 prototype should be in service because the r268 order has to be complete to have Sixth Ave cbtc in passenger service after 2030 and the r68s would retire and rip smees.
The MTA still hasn’t sent out a bid for which Manufacture will be building the R268. It is uncertain when the CBTC will start for 6th Avenue till 8th Avenue is complete and the options order of the R211A.
@@TransitFans no company has accepted the bid for the r262 yet and we have over a year for the prototype to be delivered, but I'm not that concerned with the r62s retiring in five years.
@@alexthemtaandr211weatherfa2 exactly both R262 and R268 don’t have a bid yet. But the one that will coming after the R211 will be the R262 for Lexington. Since CBTC will be happening to Lexington ave between 2027 to 2030.
