You can get complete control in cyberspace, moreso than any other sonic game- simply by tapping boost instead of holding it. Nobody knows about this, or maybe they just dont care. But that and spindash solves every single problem people have with 'stiff controls'. I honestly think there's not a ton of difference between the two games controls
Especially when playing the gens levels that were ported to cyberspace cuz you're just like: "tf am I doing? I can just play these in the better game..."
It’s his running animation when he starts sliding down/hits a boost panel on a slope or building. It looks so cool and Sonic Team should make that his actual boost animation
I can't wait for the future where we have "True Frontiers Sonic", "Frontiers HUD", "Frontiers Restoratons", "Real Frontiers Physics" and what not so Frontiers and Shadow Gens become indistinguishable from each other same as Unleashed and Sonic Gens have.

It's a damn shame because after update two where you got the ability to add momentum to your jumps AND got the spin dash, I think that's the best Sonic ever controlled. But unfortunately that was only in the open zones, it seems and cyberspace still had the stiff af tank controls.

But the base gameplay engine and character controller is the same pretty much, heck I think Sonic still has the same parameter values. Also the Advance titles are arguably like that too if it weren't for the special gimmicks like the team-up mechanic, and the Rush Titles are like that as well (and to an extent Colors DS).
I think it resembles sonic heroes -> shadow 05 a lot actually. Same length of time between the games release (2 years) and a shadow spinoff that feels and is graphically similar to the last mainline game.

I don’t like how the second level is so automated that it looks janky. It makes Shadow Gens look like it plays even more like Frontiers. Also yes, I’m referring to how the level originally was in Frontiers. Nothing against the direct port into Shadow Gens obviously.
Wasn’t the game taking place in 2011 or something? So if the area that shadows is in from Frontiers then it didn’t happen yet. I think the Sonic Timeline is confusing 😵💫

Shadow stops inmediately instead of sliding like butter in the floor like in Frontiers, the Homing Attack is almost as inmediate as in Frontiers, and some more. However, as you keep playing, you keep realizing that Shadow Gens feels way more enjoyable and less clunky, like a truly accomplished Frontiers gameplay. The game overs feel less like the game fault and way more like your fault. Etc.
I feel like shadow being in sonic’s levels kinda highlights the idea I’ve been seeing that most of shadows new abilities weren’t implemented the best because they are very conditional and can’t be used unless the level is designed around it
@blomgaming6480you seem to be missing the point. here's a quick comparison. You can't use doom blast unless the levels specifically have a doom enemy to lock onto. Chaos spear (unless using speedrun tech) is useless unless there's a button to use it on or an enemy with spikes. now consider something like Tails' flight. It doesn't require a certain obstacle being in the level to be useful. So when put in new levels, you can make your own shortcuts. That's the difference they're talking about.
Oh, you're one of thoae who change the boost animation. (Personally, i think it looks stupid. Then again no matter what, shadow always looks stupid boosting and probably shouldn't be able to boost at all in my opinion.)

3-6 is so satisfying with the "Ironed Out" Physics mod. You can jump on enemies and keep momentum just like the classics.
Also like the Previous Boost Games Pre-Forces.
Wait physics mods work again now? last time i checked mostly every physics mod broke along with the movie DLC update.
