If by “finger exercises” you mean “all technique, no soul”, I encourage to focus how sharp, inventive and determined is Joey’s phrasing on combining beautiful and crisp language bits, even at that speed. Don’t forget he has improvised it, it took hours for me to transcribe it and days to learn it. He just “has it”. That dude is precious.
