oh my god! same!! I discovered VIXX through Hongbin's role in Moorim School. I found out he was in VIXX and that they sang some of that dramas OSTs to support him. I loved the songs and decided to look into more of their music. I feel in love with their music and personalities. Now I'm a 🌟 Starlight!
I thought Desperate will be their final "kick" when I listened to the album highlight too. But when I watch The Closer performance, I understand why they choose this song over Desperate. First, the dance gives The Closer such a strong and unique vibe that u can't find in any of VIXX's song until now. And that's because the style of music is totally different from Dynamite or Fantasy or other songs that they released. And now with the lyrics, I feel like Desperate has a same vibe as Dynamite as it has the "Oh I'm desperate what should I do?" side. As for The Closer, the song is about wanting to finally take control on this love, not just being jealous of others guys around the girl then explose like a Dynamite XD, neither staying in a Fantasy. They finally want to take an action to get closer to the girl, so I think it's an excellent Closing for the conception :D. Anw I do think that the chorus of The Closer with be stuck in your head after 2-3 more times of listening ;)!
