Adding walls from top to bottom on the first platform should allow you to align the bottom platform. Then just remove the walls, that is how I added my basement. If you go ahead and add a few more planters, just don't fertilize them, it greatly reduces animal cost. Thank you for the entertainment, glad to see you back in Subsistence.
These building episodes are the best. Love how well the base is coming together.
This is a very ingenious design. Walling up the path and putting an access door to the main building would add free movement. Looking forward to more vids.

Hey GE! You need to watch your power at all times. If the power goes to 0 it shuts off everything that is consuming power, including the fridge. I've had a lot of close calls but never lost all my food like that! At least you have tons of spoiled meat for heat kits! Keep up the great work :)
GE, 1 of the best ways i find for making eye pleasing buildings look such with out costing more is to 1 make what looks like a chain link bridge instead of the ground floors in ground. (nothing but wood floors going across and have the metal rafter things along the sides or use the half size floors to do the same thing to make a look like a bridge. )
2nd option is to use one ground floor and then use a normal floor piece and go one after another and u cant really tell any deference. also use the rock u can always climb on the rock and go to the other walkway/ bridge.
The fridge gave you the cold shoulder .

Very cool building. I love the concept of walling everything off. That should really mess with the hunters lol. Wall of the pond too just to smite them haha. Great episode.
Your build today makes me want to see wooden barricade type fencing added, (I’m thinking of the outer walls of old frontier forts,) they could use a lot wood and cordage, but no nails or scrap, other than for any gate in it. Or maybe just spikes, such as in 7D2D, that they could shoot over, but couldn’t get passed them until they chop them apart. Maybe they could destroy them with a few shotgun blasts, so it would would be more of a way to slow them down, as opposed to killing them.
at min 3:22 u can see he has low power and its decreasing then at min 4:01 you can hear the base turned off right at the same time he accidentally clicks on the map lol

Excellent video as always GE thanks ! love the look of the base going to be expensive to heat in winter. Sorry about loss of meat in refer thats a lot of hard work lost ahh good reason to go on killing spree. might want to think of wind instead sun for extra power. Thanks agian.
I think ColdGame should add either a rain barrel, or a small water barrel and bucket, the barrel could hold say 2-4 buckets or water, and a bucket could hold 2-3 canteens worth of water. IMO this would make building further away from water sources more common and workable.
He could even make two sizes if rain barrels, a small, which uses only basic resources but is fairly slow to fill, and only holds say 2 canteens of water, basically enough for a player to supply themselves with minimal trips to fill canteens at a creek/pond/lake. The bigger one could use a few advanced materials, hold say 8 canteens of water and collect water from rain much faster, the idea being it would gain water fast enough for you to keep a couple gardens watered.
Additionally you should be able to make biofuel in a distiller, or maybe a recipe which combined biofuel and alcohol, say 6 biofuel and one alcohol to make 10 biofuel. Molotovs seem great, but for the cost of the distiller I think it needs to have more use than just making them.
Yes, close in the tree, would be even nicer if you would make the base bigger or move it so the tree is inside your animal area, but ways too much time for such a detail.

Have you ever thought about building around the lake? That way they can't get to the water and fish. So they won't bother you near as much anymore. But that is a WHOLE lotta nails brother lol.

If he runs out of power the fridge will shut off. I learned that the hard way when I accidentally left my mass fab running during the day. I lost so much meat.

@@ShillenP ugh I know, my girlfriend was watching me play and im quite new so I was running some stuff to get turbines going and I left for sinew and meat, my fridge was stocked with meat but I was saving it for winter and when I got back she realized I left the mass Fab on and freaked out because I lost like 30 meat and like 7 steak and eggs for the animals to eat, so I had a lot of killing to do to stock back up for winter

You left with very low power and the refiner going. Probably what killed it, then the power kicked up into overdrive. Now that the base is bigger, figure out a whole day night cycle with everything running and bulk up your power storage. Recommend like 8-10k power storage.

Yes you only really need the foundations in the corners, and just use ceiling boards between them to keep it today and save some material and get some into the other side.

I almost didn't have the heart to point out that the posts on the second wall were askew... The poles nearest the rock look like they are hanging over the side of the bottom floor boards. Oh well, I bet he noticed afterward and will end up tweaking it off camera.

Greetings. I have been following this gameplay over Subsistence and sort of copied most of the blueprint on your structure in the game. However I am really struggling on resources and I hear quite often you say you gather some off camera and I see in your boxes you are alot alot more than I ever had. If I may ask do you farm these items nearby or far away (to avoid hunters)?

Agreed! experimented last night and it's 1 mass for a wood log and 1.1 for a stick

@@Jay_Dee420 then wouldn't it be easier to just do logs? you still get 1.2 mass with 1 log or 2 sticks. I use potatoes. I have 5 potato beds for molotovs and I think 100 potatoes gives 300 mass, so im saving potatoes for when I need quick mass
@@grenshaw6836 Sorry, 1 log gives 1 mass but can make 2 sticks, 2 sticks give 1.2 mass and are quick to craft its not much more but worth it in large amounts, I use all my spuds for molotovs and roast dinners lol

Why not use regular roofings for the bridge? Won't they just clip-in?
If you zoom with your gun then hit the M for map it zooms on the map too.
