    Which is your favourite 1/43 F1 car which I've built recently?

      @layne182 Год назад

      This one so far, it's a favourite of mine so I'm biased 😂

      Ayrton Sennas Lotus 99t. Beemax are going to do a 1/12 scale version of this car. It is their first ever 1/12 scale car.

      @@brendanhartzer5712yes, I have seen that - looks to be very detailed.

    Great build on a small scale, done a better job than I did when they first came out, model on

      Many thanks, Sarah Jane. I had the advantage of being able to replace the decals of course!

      @@BOABModelsI used the kit ones which were brand new at the time but no decal solutions :) A company called Gunze Sangyo did some 1/24 kits at the time, they were a challenge as well :)
      I’ve still not got my spray booth yet but hopefully will by winter, I’m a bit concerned about spraying with rattle cans indoors as they’re not as controllable as an airbrush, model on

    4:25 It's crazy how they got 800bhp from a 1.5L engine! Those turbos must have been immense. I finally managed to get the Williams at a decent price to go with my McLaren and Ferrari that I made a while back. There's also a Benetton but that seems to be the rarest one to find.

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  Год назад

      Yeah, and the engines would blow up if you looked at them too hard as well!! I managed to find the Benetton on eBay but it's in a bad way and needs totally new decals. I may have to convert it to the '88 car as '87 decals don't seem to be available anywhere.

    Very nice looking Williams car. I thought it was a Tameo. I believe there is a Ferrari in that F1 series from Heller/Airfix. They look Awesome in the race grid Diorama.

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  Год назад +1

      I've thought about some Tameo kits as they do some cars you can't find elsewhere. I've actually bought the Heller Ferrari and Benetton recently so expect to see an unboxing of those soon.

    Love your videos, models look amazing, but the fact that they have no weight to them when finished, maybe just me but I think they look like exact miniatures of incredible detail and finesse, until the point where a little gust of wind blows it half way across the room. I was wondering if anyone ever fills their models with weight just to give it as little more substantial presence?

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  Год назад

      Thank you. I know that some plane builders put weight inside the nose as often the wider tail section can cause the plane to do a wheelie!

  • @stealthracer

    It's the suspension that lets these cars down. The arms are far too thick; I shaved mine down but if you're really ambitious I suppose you could just cut them all off and replace them with something else (I wasn't brave enough!). Also the front axle is incorrect, I just missed mine out and attached the wheels directly to the hub carriers. Finally, there are no pushrods so you need to make those too.

    • @BOABModels

      I know what you mean. Compared to the Tameo 1/43 kits, these are quite chunky in their detail.

    What could I use for the rear light and mirrors

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  Год назад

      I just used Revell silver paint but you could use aluminium tape if cut small enough. Alternatively Molotow chrome but the cure time is very long.

  • @summersmooth

    Is there as wrong and right way the the tyres Go on the rims?

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  Год назад

      Yes sort of. You can see where the tyres were connected to the sprues so I put that on the inside of the wheel to hide it as much as possible.
