I’m so glad I came across this technique. Thank you internet! It’s always great to try out different methods and definitely one I will continue to use.
I have been watching your videos for a while and I’m learning and enjoying them at the same time ❤️ I really do appreciate your tutorials amazing👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS METHOD!! I've been using Wella my entire 20+ yr career and watched a reverse balayage video on RUclips and was SO impressed by how natural the formula looked on high lift hair! I've been converting my clients to Kenra ever since. However I haven't had experience with many of the toners or high lift shades.. anyways, short story long..lol.. I love how u broke this down and simplified every step!!! I'm so impressed by the KENRA color line and look forward to learning so much more.. I had been very curious about the metallic shades so I am so happy that u used that in this video! Thank you for taking the time to share!!!❤🎉
Omg...I'm DEFINITELY gonna do this...I thought nothing else would work like the backcombing ..but here it is...life saver for my clients with the thick hair...
Please tell me how long did it take you to put the bleaching powder? What effect would it have if you bleached the shorter hairs that separate on the action of the dryer? Thank you!
@@KenraProfessional ps any negative comments are nil and void I have watched hourssssssss ⌚ ⏳ of RUclips tutorials and this was very informative THANKS 👌 AGAIN ❤️👌
This was a great video. Though, I always come upon these videos where the hair was already highlighted. Would it look the same if the hair was not processed before hand?
No. Pre lighten hair will bet brighter. You would have to pump the developer or use 2 types of volumes for root area and ends or tone down or have 2 sessions.

Hi John! Service times can vary greatly depending on the canvas you are working on, but we would budget an average of 2-3 hours without a haircut. We hope this helps!
The formulas used :) Lightener : 1 part - Kenra Color No Ammonia Lightener 2 parts - 20 vol developper Toner : 1 part - 8B demi-permanent 1 part - 7VM demi-permanent 4 parts - 9 vol creme activator
Hi girl you are an artist. I love how her hair looks, I would like to see a video of yours doing something like you have I would like to do it to myself. I will appreciate it
Won’t using the same volume bleach on the pieces that are already blonde going to damage those ends? Not trying to be mean just wondering why you didn’t use different volume with such dark hair and hair that is already lightened? Or did I miss the part that you explained the different volume... But it looks great and healthy!
Desi Nolan Great question. The lightener used is pretty gentle (I explain that a little in the video) If I were going to use an ammonia based Lightener, then yes! Two formulas would work great! The models hair was Previously lightened with Clay Leitner and I know her hair wasn’t excellent condition for this service. If I was at all concerned I still would’ve used two different formulas. But definitely a great call out. This is why it’s always important to assess the hair and make sure not to over compromise it. I am confident with the no ammonia lightener that I used that it was not going to damage her hair.
Loved it ♥️have a question So the hair that was left out from foil won’t got colored or toned ? With a different color so to see the difference between the lighting ones ? Or with toner she used on lighted ones toned the leftover hair ? I hope I explained my self good .
lizzet castro literally this was my first time trying this technique. Her hair left out did get toned, but not as cool as the foils. I think what would be cool is to try “lowlights” on the left out pieces for added depth if desired. It’s all about the final result your client it wanting. It’s totally customizable.
It's not a new technique. This technique stylist in Russia have been doing for about a year. Lol, their videos are never translated. But I do love this way of doing baby lights and balayage.
Yeah I looked up the air touch technique. I love all these techniques Russian stylists come up with. Their work is beautiful it's like watching art. I'm glad she used this technique in this video. The hair turned out beautiful and the stylist did an amazing job. Does the air touch technique give you a different result than your traditional teasing technique?
Lightener: Kenra Color No Ammonia Lightener & 20 Vol Developer. Watch 1:53 for more details. Toner selection: Kenra Color Demi-Permanent 8B & 7VM. Watch 16:34 for more details 😊
So she's a level 2 right? What lightner was used in this process? She looks very good! My hair is a natural soft black. It's really hard for it to get lightened, actually my balayge is starting to look her before. I'm thinking of cutting all the blonde off my hair.
Jossie Castro She is naturally a level 5/6. If she were naturally a level 2, I would have gone in with a blue lightener at 30 vol and keep the no ammonia for the pre lightened ends at 20 or 10vol. 🌸
Jossie Castro avoid balayage it doesn’t lift the hair enough ask for foils def want to find a person that knows what you want or ask your stylist to baby light or foilage if they don’t know go somewhere else any hairdresser should know those terms if not you better run foiling and thin sections is the only way to lift your hair
Jossie Castro also please understand you’re very dark no matter what you will turn brassy and warm the only way to avoid that is to maintain it at home with blue shampoo and go for a toner refresher every 6 to 7 weeks depends how porous your hair is if it’s very dry or damaged that tone will wash right off because there’s no support for the color to stick to the hair so doing your hair especially color is a commitment no matter what you’ll always turn brassy just do a toner touch up and touch up your highlights every 3 to 4 months or so depends what you want but hair is like having a car you need to tune it up here and there
@@MrzBadaBing Thank you so much! You are too kind. Thank you for the great advice. My hair is actually in good shape, thanks to Olaplex, what's hard to deal with is my natural roots being so dark. Thinking of purchasing the Brazilian Bond Builder. I bought a few days ago Schwarzkopf's Goodbye Yellow Shampoo. Superb shampoo. I am a Cosmetologist. But its hard to do many things on ourselves especially a balayge touchup. And I believe in always asking questions when I see a great job by another colleague.

No. Pre lighten hair will bet brighter. You would have to pump the developer or use 2 types of volumes for root area and ends or tone down or have 2 sessions.
If you want to create a similar effect you could just balayage paint the ends in between the foils so there is more blonde at the bottom :)
I love this 💜💜💜

Where did you get the pillow like head rest that's in your shampoo bowl?
Hi Barbara! The pillow head rest is built into the bowl. Purchased through Minerva :)
Surely by the time you’ve put the last foil in the first foils are on another planet.
wow nice

What is the difference between Balayage standard and balayage Airtouch?? Which technique is best?
Won’t using the same volume bleach on the pieces that are already blonde going to damage those ends?
Not trying to be mean just wondering why you didn’t use different volume with such dark hair and hair that is already lightened? Or did I miss the part that you explained the different volume...

Why you bleach the ends again?
Matata because I wanted them lighter than what she had. I would not have been able to toner her cool enough with how dark her ends were.
