    Oooh, that plushy bear journal and the keycap keyring! Love them :D
    I've been really into artsy stuff lately. My latest haul, which haven't arrived yet, was all art supplies, and I'm so stoked. I got some high-quality watercolor paper, cheaper mixed media paper, various pencils, and *wax pastels* to play with! I can't wait till it arrives :D
    There's definitely something to making our hobbies (or activities in general) accessible to us. I'm loving my TWSBI 1.1 stub nib -- it makes me look forward to doing my morning pages every single day since I got it! Just a couple of days ago I loaded it with a new ink, Diamine Eau De Nil, and it's *so gorgeous!* I've got my A5 lined TRP morning pages journal, my 1.1 stub nib, and that Eau De Nil ink, and it makes for 10-15 solid minutes of happiness every single morning, even when I'm writing about sucky things like my unintentional weight gain.
    In a similar way, doing "art" seems to be really good for me these days. I've mostly been doing simple, abstract doodles or the same landscape over and over again. It requires few tools, I can doodle even when I'm in a gremlin position in bed, it's something I manage to do on high pain days, it's got a low cognitive and a low emotional load. I love good old journaling, but sometimes it's like... I don't have the emotional energy for it, you know? And I also don't have the cognitive energy for studying and note-taking. And I also have little physical energy, with body pain, so I need physically easy things to do. Doodling, or doing "art", just ticks all of the boxes for me right now. It's something I actually manage to do without feeling like crap afterwards.
    I don't know about you, but I have this chronic struggle with never feeling that sense of accomplishment after having done something. I'll finish a sewing project, and I won't feel accomplished or proud, just disappointed in all of the ways it went poorly (because I'm a newbie). I'll journal and not feel good about it afterwards because it was "catching up" that I "needed to do". I'll write some poetry and not feel good about it afterwards. I'll do, well, anything really, and it's all "meh". But for some strange, incomprehensible reason, I do simple doodles and crappy drawings and afterwards I feel accomplished and proud of myself?! Even if I did nothing else that day, if I did a drawing or a doodle, I go to bed like "yay, I *did* that!" That's a rare and weird feeling for me, so I'm just clinging to it atm.
    That's been my Sunday letter on a Friday,
    Best regards from your friend Inlé

      Wow I dont think I would ever predict you using a stub; I am so excited that you’re loving it!!! It’s really nice to have something that’s just kinda drastically different from normal, right?!
      Wax pastels sound so fun! When you have played with them and feel comfortable posting, I would love to see what u do 😍
      I do also feel that way about a lot of stuff. I am so happy that art is bringing you so much joy!! It sounds like the refresher you needed to shake it up a bit :)
      I loved the Sunday letter on a Friday :p
      Your friend,
      Justus

      @@justusspace Hahah, is it that surprising? I featured it in my latest video if you wanna see the pen 😄
      If I can make something with the wax pastels that isn't a complete mess, I'll for sure show you! I want to use them with watercolours to add texture and details, but it might end up looking like a mess of a seaweed salad 😂

    what a fun video! thank u so much for sharing 🤩 absolutely love knowing more about what you’ve been up to and whats been bringing u joy!
    nothing super new on my side (which is surprising😂) - im enjoying this season of stillness in my hobby 😂 def have been feeling less overwhelmed and shifted my focus on creating memories worth journaling about instead!

      I LOVE that you’re focused on making the memories to journal about, because I think that’s what we sometimes lose sight of! I hope that 2023 is bringing you a ton of good stuff to write about. Additionally, a season of stillness is a great way to describe that. I hope to get there soon, I’m tired of the exciting haha!

    I currently use a B6 Stalogy for my everyday journal and I love that it can hold up to fountain pens! I’ve decided that that is a must for me… paper in journals must be fountain pen friendly!

    • @justusspace
      @justusspace  Год назад +1

      Yes yes yes!! Journals that are fountain pen friendly are huge :) I will say, the strawberry walmart bear book aint fp friendly but im just not gonna care about thr feathering in that case.
      Im still so intrigued by the B6 size. How would you describe why you’re drawn to that one specifically compared to others? (I have never seen a b6 size irl to my knowledge, so Im guessing its dimensions from online measurements)

    I’m currently enjoying the Onion Skin Journal, too, and I love it! I ordered the black cover version (because black calms me) and started to use it just before the gothic and metal festivals here in Germany kick off. 🥰

      The black cover osj is very dreamy!!! It sounds perfect to tote along to the goth and metal festivals as well 😍😍Hello to Germany!! I have some family living over there and hear it’s lovely

      @@justusspace I hope to get some more osj's in the future, but the shipping turns me off (for now).
      We’ve got some really nice festivals here. Next week I'll be attending the Wave-Gotik-Treffen, which is one of the biggest goth meetings in the world. Germany has some nice places, I live up north at the Baltic Sea. 😊 Greetings to you, too! And thanks for your content! 🥰

    Stalogy has been one of my go-to notebooks for about 3 years and I'll never turn back. It's fountain pen/ brush pen friendly, and it takes watercolor and colored pencil like a champ. Stalogy LOVES individuality! I also like to use stickers and I glue stuff in regularly. B6 is my jam, but I'm thinking about giving the A6 a go at some point for a "shake up."
    I'd love to see how that StazOn ink works with the Stalogy paper. I have another, the name escapes me at the moment, but it bleeds through to the back of the page badly so I need to look for another brand.

    • @justusspace
      @justusspace  Год назад

      I’ve already learned that the stalogy paper does not like the staz-on ink sadly enough!! It does exactly that - bleeds super badly through to the next page.
      Haha, I love how our sense of shaking it up is jumping into a new size journal or not! I love my party people 🤩
