That's why i don't like scale rollercoasters because the cars move waaaaay too fast, and irl the passengers would get killed by the insane G forces, so it's unnatural how most scale models move compared to the real thing.
I thought it was just me being old, but yes I agree with you, the reduced speed allows for a more realistic appreciation for what you're seeing. I was thinking a nice steampunky blimp would be really cool to see flying around and watch the mechanics of that.
When my father was a child, he made model airplanes. Had them hanging in his bedroom. Then he started making models that actually flew. Passed the hobby along to me as a kid. But these super-light, RC indoor models are CRAZY COOL MAN! Dad would’ve loved them God rest his soul. Thanks😇👍🏻
The corsair slow flying around was awesome, the concord on the other hand was incapable of flying slow. Congrats to all the builders and pilots that was a very good show
Agreed. That Corsair is amazing. And you can tell the pilot was doing an amazing job keeping it coordinated in the turns. Not easy to do at those slow speeds. A little too much skid or slip and hello stall/spin!
The Corsair prop started just like the real one would and it has folding wings, lights, a super paint job and looks superb, a good choice of scale to. Hats off to all.
It always amazes me when someone makes such an amazingly realistic model and then mounts weird colored lights somewhere totally unexpected like the oil/intercooler inlets... But they built it they can do what they like with it I suppose.
@@1574me The lights look like bright LEDs to me and the plane is flying in low light so I'd say that they aren't weird but necessary. Their placement makes sense to. There's an audience and this is part of the entertainment.

Yes! Glad this got suggested, I guess my use of UMX and ultra ultra micro in comments in other videos helped the algorithm. I'm obsessed with low and slow planes right now, stuff I can fly in my neighborhood.
Seeing all those planes flying around at the same time reminded me of when I used to pylon race. When I was just barely a teenager, I got involved in racing 100mph Q-500's and I was good at it. But I was young and sharp, my brain could process information at the speed of light back then! Fast forward 40+ years and here I am watching these slow flying aircraft thinking how fun it would be to fly something so slow and graceful and more to scale. I still fly r/c planes but mainly flat bottom high winged airplanes with 80+" wingspans and I own a '49 C170A, but this looks challenging. Besides the confines of a building and a crowd so close by, it seems to me they're flying just barely over their stall speed. Maybe it's an illusion. Either way, there's some very accomplished pilots there with some beautiful aircraft doing a fantastic job! Great video!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Особенно впечатляет плавность полета и его низкая скорость. Сначала показалось, что это замедленная съемка. Очень красиво!
My guess is that they are built with a super light weight frame made of lightweight wood or carbon fiber inside the fuselage that is pressure filled with helium like a balloon. The wings would be a combination of cut foam wood or carbon structure and pressure filled with helium as well... but this is just a guess...
The Corsair and Concorde were especially impressive. It would be interesting to see a film about how some of these models were built and powered to make them suitable for indoor flying. So boring seeing RC jets flying out in the open . . . most are just a blur, although the occasional mid-air disintegration can be somewhat interesting.
Despite the ingenuity shown in keeping the weight down, they still took the trouble to have folding wings plus the extra complication of folding wings and a geared full size propeller, Amazing.
I do like how these ultra lights fly really scale. I wasn't expecting that. I thought the light wing loading would make them just look slow and floaty. Especially the Dash-8's! They look so good.
This looks so cool because with some of these, like the airliners, its the right speed according to the scale size of these. It doesn't have that erratic sped up look to it like that typical RC plane. It appears more realistic.
It's interesting to watch them fly together, but one will be flaps out and using lift, and another one will be right next to it, flaps down, clearly using the propellers to keep it aloft. Nice flying all around, this looks like a challenge to say the least.
Awesome!, incredible how this guys get the perfect weight/thrust ratio in the the scale models to emulate the real flight behavior of the real size plains, amazing to watch.
I don't do RC at all, but these are stunning. I think it is the proportional relationship between size and speed, quite beautiful really. I fly paragliders and do so, in part, because of the beauty of the sport. I am drawn to these craft for much the same reason.

The theory is simple, weight defines speed. By choosing the right weight you can get the right scale to speed ratio. But construction and handwork of these models seem to be really top level an not that easy.
That Corsair is CRAZY!!! Absolutely stunning.
Wonderful ! The low speed of these models produces a very good impression of realism ,very far away from the hectic flight of many outdoor RC models.
So true and well said.
For sure!
Greetings from Brazil!
Well built and well flown.....great realism.

I love the Germans, they throw everything at what they do. Excellent slow flying for their size. Top marks to all. Love it.

as many of the videos ive seen of them flying, never have i seen a build video on how theyre made..starting to think thats a well guarded secret.

No, thats not correct. There is no helium inside. It's just the very light fuselage.

I do like how these ultra lights fly really scale. I wasn't expecting that. I thought the light wing loading would make them just look slow and floaty. Especially the Dash-8's! They look so good.
This is why a light wing load is so desirable to just go really slow without stall. Amazing and gravity defying really.
