As a long time fanatic of Scriabin's music (especially the early and middle periods) I sarcastically thought "Yeah right" to your comment. But after listening, I too would rank this close to the 2 best I've heard, Sofronitsky and Glemser.
Such great music with great interpretation, with beautiful effects! This deserves much more than 500 likes, the entire world should listen to a masterpiece like that with a wonderful pianist like in this video
@@stravinskyfanFor a while Richter was my favorite, and then I heard a recording by Lazar Berman, who did amazing work with it. So Lazar Berman takes the cake. Both are on Spotify. For a more recent recording, I remember Alexander Melnikov stood out as very good (although my judgment may be influenced by the fact that I saw him play it live once).
Thanks! This was supposed to be already on Spotify when you posted this comment but for some reasons I don’t know it didn’t worked 🤷♂️ only released on deezer. I redid it all again, now this time it’s finally on Spotify 🦾
Never heard this piece by scriabin before (even though Im a fan) thanks for helping me discover him even more I also think your performance is outstanding!
This is absolutely the best interpretation I've heard. And I've heard them all. I always considered this an unfortunate piece of music bc it sounds beautiful, but I thought scriabin wrote too much music into it, as if it were just to be a prelude. But now I see it's just the way it's played. Your's is well balanced, restrained where it needs to be and not over the top all the time. Pretty much every other interpretation I've heard tends to wear me out just after the big climax. This one I can listen all the way through and enjoy. Bravo!
Absolutely amazing performance! I've been working on this piece for a few months now and I've mostly enjoyed Soyeon Kate Lee's rendition but this I think tops the charts.
Maybe some medtner, i like it more, but almost every time i listen someone play alkan its old recording or bad quality recording, is there a piece you like from Alkan with good quality recording? (i would like to discover a bit more of it since so many people seem to like alkan)
@@vincentcucheval Hamelin is the go-to, but some of his better recordings can be hard to find, the prelude titled something like “A mad woman on the seashore” is quite interesting. Paul Wee has a good recording of the concerto.
Absolutely beautiful playing I love Scriabin👌 by any chance can you play Godowsky/Bach violin sonata 2nd movement Fugue ? It’s an amazing fugue and thank you for ur time 👍
Thank you ! Oh some crazy godowsky 😵😵💫 🤪i listened to it and like it, short good sounding fugue with lots of notes, but godowksy write very well for the hand (i tried a bit of his passaglia that i find very beautiful and its often confortable for the hand) i might give it a try 🙂
Thank you 😮! Very happy that you think this way! One of my fav is Yoonji Kim’s version, but i love too soyeon kate lee’s one ; Szidon is great version but i think the piano played in the recording is a bit too harsh sounding/metallic
@@randomplaypiano cela va faire un près de 22 ans maintenant que j’ai commencé le piano tout petit, et je dirais un peu près 10 ans vraiment sérieux (entrée au conservatoire etc..)
It’s maybe a little slower than most performances but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with this tempo. The only criticism I could give is for there to be a little more singing with the build up at 5:15 and some more volume in certain parts (although this is likely just a limitation of an electric piano) but other than that this performance is pretty flawless
Sluggish? Lol! Maybe you’re used to a recording that’s one minute faster than this! How about you attempt to play yourself! This performance has such clarity and the voicing is top notch!
B theme is literally the most gorgeous piano melody ever written 🫠
One of the best early works he made
Yes! And he forgot about it when being older 😅
That's probably one of the best recordings of this piece I've ever heard! You're so talented man, I'm speechless!

Amazing work nailing a huge piece like that, Scriabin's works look hard to interpret too! I like the colors too!
