Hello Julien! I am able to reach the high octaves but the sound is just way too breathy. Is there a way to reduce that? Love your ney tutorials, keep it up!

Hi! That's a good remark. Actually, I still wonder how masters are able to make the high pitch in a soft way. Here is a youtube link of one exemple ruclips.net/video/wlPnbIe9B7I/видео.html

@@JulienMOVAHEDI Thank you for replying! Then I think it's probably the experience that makes the difference. I used to play tsuur, a Mongolian flute that uses basically the same technique but sound quite breathy. Persian ney can sound so "soft and pure" in the high octaves is just mind boggling to me.

Hello Julien, if I understand the third and fourth octaves can be produced by putting stille more pressure in the blowing? Xavier

There is a limit to the blow strength actually. This is why, the position of the Ney, OR, the position of the mouth on the Ney, must be slightly changed in order that the pressure increases, without having to blow "too much" :)

Hello Julien, thank you for your tutorial ! I'd like to ask you, is it possible to learn with you in private tutoring? Regards Xavier
