So according to Brett Hart Shawn Michaels has somewhat of a very close intimate relationship with Vince McMahon. That's where the whole Shawn is gay comes from and why fans were always calling him out for that and why he got special treatment compared to all the others superstars. Plus not to mention all the ladies were big into Shawn Michaels at the time to so it was also just natural male jealousy.
I think the "Shawn is gay" thing started after he posed for Playgirl magazine and didn't find out until after the the majority of its readers were actually gay men and not women. Even his fellow wrestlers used to playfully make fun of him for it.
