    Josh has misinterpreted the entire situation. This game takes place in the 16th century, a time of gentlemen. The zombie is simply being a gentleman and waiting for you to come back to the game to continue their attacks, he doesn't want to be seen as a coward. We should be thanking Amazon for this amazing considerate AI.

      I don't play the game, can you explain to me how this is game breaking please? He cannot do anything else while in stasis, he doesn't lose aggro afterwards. He is invulnerable but cannot do any damage either?

      @@cesar00100 Its totally broken think about it, If you agroo the boss in dgs and 'pause' the game, your teammates can easily kill it, no healer required, you can also break pvp, you only need one player to to stay put to capture/defend any stronghold, as long as that person is there the enemy team cant do nothing

      but that is one nasty glitch, and all the gold sellers gives a big hint of broken anti bot even i have come across few nodes where you just stand gathering even after finished gathered that node so bots can just lock themselves in one useless node.

      @@cesar00100 Being immune to dying whenever you want makes you immune to death, whenever you pull this trick. Players can start wailing on you in PvP, but if you pull this trick and wait 10 minutes, they'll get bored and leave, and thus you would have won by not fighting at all. You cannot die, of course It's broken. And this is only the start of things, because of why this glitch exists, because It takes the clients information over the servers. This is open to so much abuse, this is just the first instance of it that we've found possible. Everything else is simply waiting to be discovered

    Interesting side note: The bleed effect mentioned at 7:10 was on 9 seconds when you froze your game, your HP was on 530. When you join back in your health is still on 530 while the bleed effect is gone, meaning it will - like you said - tick over, but you will not receive any damage from it. This is even worse, as this method can now be used to pass the time from received status effects without taking any dmg.

    It looked like bleed didn't even damage you during the roll, but it looks like the status dropped. So if that's the case that probably means that s effect dots meaning if you roll at the right time you can negate damage over time ticks.

      You can become invincible in pvp capture points. You can be immune to all boss mechanics. It's dumb and unfixable without completely changing how NW handles server/client requests.

    This mistake looks like it could appear in the next Undertale-inspired meta-RPG where to avoid an attack you need to enter window mode and need to wiggle the screen to avoid taking damage during an otherwise one-hit kill.

    7:14 "That bleed effect will still tick over" - actually, if you take a look at it, it doesn't actually tick, the HP remained the same. The client seems to just calculate whether the time for the effect has passed and just removes it without applying any damage. About to die from a DOT? Just move the Window long enough for the DOT to fall of.

      Damn seems like a huge oversight, as a dev myself it's basic software 101 to never trust the client as it can be tampered when sending data to a server.
      It would've been fine if this was a single player game, but this is a competitive PVP MMO which should've been a huge indicator on not to put too much trust on what the client says and do server side validation.
      Once someone manages to successfully tamper the game client itself, there's a big chance of game breaking bugs that'll arise from these.
      I have a feeling they did this to save on server costs by offloading processing on client side but forgot that this isn't a single player game.

    An easy exploit would be putting a bleeding debuff in an enemy and then go invulnerable, if you do that long enough it could be possible to solo end bosses

      @Lassi Kinnunen 81 Probably, I haven't played the game but if aggro doesn't change naturally from mobs (that is, you usually will need a skill or the original target to leave aggro range/die for the monster to change it's target), than the exploiting player can be an infinite tank, since he will only take damage when the window is let go of. The other players can easily unload everything with no regards for safety because the aggro will remain on the first target.
      But, as I said, that only works if the aggro doesn't change for some reason (some games will change the aggro for whoever is doing more damage, for example)

    The bleed damage didn't even register. A de-buff that is on your character and shouldn't be effected by I-Frames still didn't register damage after it had gone through it's timer at the end of your example at 7:15. I thought Amazon Games hired experienced game developers. Why is any of this happening in the first place?

      well experienced game developers doesn't mean they know what they are doing, they might be experienced in different genres (almost certainly) and even different positions
      if you take a deep dive into the game you find out that the whole dev team, excluding graphical design, is either vastly incompetent, or completely inexperienced, most likely both, these aren't issues that can be explained by "marketing guys/executives/rushed release/change of focus"

    And it absolutely WORKS IN PVP also. My company tested it. From the other player side of view your character finishes the animation but stands still after it and all attacks go through it dealing no damage. As I'm writing this comment there is a server maintenance for patch so it may be changed in a few hours when the game is up. Or may be not. We will see.

    Imagine this in PVP. The enemy AI will continue their attack after you come out of the roll, but a player will just get frustrated and bored. And what about PVP capture points? Could a player cap and just turtle in an infinite I-Frame?

    Not only will this require a large architecture rewrite to fix, if there are currently calculations performed on the client that need to be moved to the server then all of their server performance benchmarking up to this point will basically be invalid. Can the current servers handle all the new work they'll need to do? Who knows!

We have flying cars, people are T-posing through the city, and everybody is admiring Panam's butt, but Josh is still trying to prove his point, that New World is fundamentally broken. Amazon has long since gone and been replaced by Bmazon, led by Beff Jezos to great success and New World's server aren't even running anymore, but Josh's NW client never got the request to log out, so it is still going strong. "Do you see what I mean now? Well, let's do it again. What about 77656456*e^437 mobs? Let's find out. I roll, press escape and hold the window. Now, what should happen is the server stacking up damage numbers against me, but let's see what happens when I release it." As the entropy in our universe is slowly but surely increasing, the viewers are beginning to disperse into atoms. Time ceases to exist. But do people now understand the problems of client authoritative games? One can only hope...

    Actually looks like the bleed does no damage during the i-frames so the trick seems to work with dots because as it's timer ticks down and runs out you are truly invincible.

    the terrifying thing about doing so much of the game client side is it is just a matter of time before people figure out how to straight hack their gold and eq, hack drops, and hack damage delt. press a button for insta-kill. have 600 gs items, have 100k gold. its just a matter of time before they figure this out.

      Yep, the second Josh said it was client side in his last video I just started laughing for 5 minutes straight. It is 100% dead unless they blow all the time and money to rebuild it from the ground up to not be *fucking client side authoritative* because it will absolutely be hacked to utter pieces. There have been Chinese/Korean grindmonster bitcoin farms with better gameplay security than New World and that is absolutely amazing. You have to be blind and entirely ignorant of the gaming industry to fuck up this hard.

      @@rofo7704 it's not just an assumption, it's a nonsense - client-side hacking doesn't gain you any advantage unless the server just accepts client-side alterations regardless of server-side flags. Spotting - and even preventing - hacks in a system like this is trivial.

      @@Domura client side doesnt mean its easily hackable, tons of mmos are client side, u just dont kno cause hackers still cant hack them so theres no point in pointing out there client side. u can edit the files, msot games have safety nets that will not let the game load or ill shut the game down if fiels are edited. Amazon deff had the mone yto pay for the license to that tedhnology, if shitty dead korean games have it, i would imagine new world does.

      They won't get called anywhere to fix this, Amazon will just do something stupid like disable dodging...
      The other big bug at the moment is resilient (reduce crit damage to you) affects all damage... And onyx gems (phys dmg reduction) AFFECT ALL DAMAGE... A full set of crit reduction + onyx gems gear will reduce your incoming damage from all sources by ~33%...
      You look at the art, the setting, the animation etc for this game and it's all top tier.
      Then you look at a lot of other systems and they're basically trash/broken. I feel sorry for the art team etc who knocked it out of the park having to watch their labour of love get trashed to hell and back because of the other donkeys...

      No, the dislikes are from the 19 people who told him that it was fixed already. No employees will be called in for this. And there is no way to quickly patch this. This is the data handling for the game. This requires a complete engine and possibly server rebuild.

    The enemies don’t stop attacking you. The server is just confirming with your client whether or not you are in an invulnerability frame and will inflict damage on you if you aren’t. Meaning the enemies are still attacking, the but invulnerability frames are kept track on the client side and that’s communicated to the server. Hopefully will change.

      @@Jezza_One oddly enough here in Japan, you don't ever see those. Living here and playing jp servers for MMOs (e.g. FFXIV, PSO2, Onigiri, etc...), I've never seen rmt spam in chat, I can count the times I saw one in one hand.

      Gold spammers honestly aren’t as bad as some mmos in this game. Although there’s fishing/mining bots everywhere hopefully they get on it. They just got injected with a huge budget so hopefully that leads to teams built for tackling these issues.

    It doesn't seem like the enemies stop attack you at all, they just can't damage you. The invulnerability state falling off is probably another thing that is handled client side and doesn't get processed. When you return to the game the invuln probably persists for the time remaining of the dodge you tabbed out of. So all the damage ticks being suddenly processed fall into the invul window. It'd be cool to have a thrid party's viewpoint in game to see what's really happening.

      2 things.
      I play with bad ping, there are no servers in my region. And it is a whole other mess, ranged play is impossible.weird glitch animations happen when enemies rush you.
      Another thing was; on hop four of my connection there was significant packet loss at a peer. 25-40%. The game kept dc'ing me saying suspicious activity or application.

    Most likely there is not a change in the damage behavior of the enemy, but the outstanding damage ticks are probably calculated against your invulnerability state (aka the invincibility frames from the roll). Admittedly, these are hard things to get right, and required exceptionally well thought out architectures, but at the same time, incredibly obvious and trivial exploits like this should have been ironed out at an earlier stage. In other words, yes these technical designs can be quite hard, but that's not a very good excuse.

    People calling him a liar were super desperate to defend the game, not because they actually think he's wrong but because of a creeping sense of buyer's remorse knowing that New World is completely screwed by this amateur hour design, broken at a fundamental level, and likely to kill the game once people start legitimately exploiting their bad design with real cheat scripts that Amazon will be unable to stop.
    As it is, this trivializes all PvE content as tanks can immune to all damage.

      I've discovered the best way to scare people off from New World is point out it has even less functionality than ArchAge did. I keep hearing folks comparing it to "Runescape HD" but I feel its really more "Fantasy Rust". Everyone and their mom is getting peer pressured into playing it because its the newest thing to do, but it'lll be old and boring in about a month, when the majority of the playerbase catches on to how repetitive and bland everything is once those main story cutscenes are gone.

      I would hope that a tank that is, at least from the enemy AI perspective, just standing there doing nothing would lose aggro pretty quickly. But a well-coordinated team with voice chat and two tanks how can trade off aggro between them? That might be something.

      People playing this are either looking for this exact mix of aesthetics, gameplay and systems or its their first ""next-gen"" MMO or they bought into the streamer hype.
      New world is the jack of all trades master of none of MMOs.
      GW2 has better combat, open world, pvp and a better more in depth equivalent to the territory siege system (WvW)
      FF14 has a better story, dungeons,side content and endgame content.
      Albion is essentially new world but in a top down perspective without all of these issues.
      Runescapes sandbox features put new world to shame even though it's an ancient game.

    Id like to point out that this isnt really a bug. its just bad design. there was no accident here. no slip in the code. someone at ags said, "hey lets make it client side authoritative", and no one at ags was competent enough to say, "hey, that's a really bad idea" and now, because of that incompetence, there is no easy fix for this aside from a complete redesign of the games client.

      As someone who codes themselves, making an actual decision to have an online game resolve client-side is the single worst thing you can do as a developer. Not only is it ripe for cheating, the problem is baked into the framing of the code itself, meaning it literally is not fixable. The entire game has to be completely remade or this problem will never go away.

      Other streamers and players have done this, showing that players can stand indefinitely and not take damage, allowing two players to easily solo any boss.

      From the other person's perspective, you finish the roll and stand there taking no damage. Since each client renders animations individually, one client freezing has no bearing on another.

    (P.S. 7:20 - the bleed effect did seem to expire, but it doesn't seem to have damaged you - you started the freeze with 530 HP and bleed effect on you... you stopped the freeze with 530 HP and no bleed effect on you - the timer of the bleed expired during the freeze, but the damage it tried to do was ignored... what?)
    Oh wow. Wasn't Lumberyard, the amazon's engine, meant to be designed for online games? If this thing runs on lum... yes, it does run on Lumberyard, I just checked.
    ...oh wow. engine designed specifically for online and cloud tech can't properly handle the multiplayer behavior of a window drag event.
    Btw, what you just showed with the dodge seems to indicate that... I don't even know, that the damage requests are being VALIDATED client-side?
    As in, server says "get damaged", client checks "am i currently in a damageable state?", and behaves accordingly.
    Not only that, but it seems when the messages are queued, the client processes all of them as if they happed that very moment - ignoring their timestamps.
    Which is utterly stupid, but it seems it has to be that way, otherwise, after unfreeze, only the damage messages with a timestamp that overlaps with your roll timestamp, would be ignored, and the rest would be applied.
    But that's not happening, which means the client ignores WHEN the queued message from server happened.
    That's... collossally stupid.

    Fun fact: GW2 had a similar bug. Position is temporarily client-side authoritative. Basically, the game handles movement client-side and does bounds-checking server side. It further regularly validates your position server-side and will rubber-band you if you try to pull anything.
    However, if you die during a lag spike, your death position will be displaced from where you appear on everybody else’s screen. People used this in PvP as a way to avoid being spiked (to skip a lot of explanation, avoiding a single spike gives you enough time to self-revive).
    Even the slightest issues like this can shatter PvP. I can’t imagine New World surviving with this gaping hole.

      To use GW2 as an example, within 3 days of the first clear of the HoT boss, people had broken the hardest leadup challenge to the point that you beat it by running in circles.
      (Side note: that one change made it possible to lead a pug of 150 people with three commanders. While I did have commanders that I worked with often, I lead a decent number of maps that were me and 149 people I hadn’t played with before)
      The reason why I brought up the circle strategy is because the cornerstone of the strategy involved one player standing in the center of the arena while remaining invincible. This neutralized every otherwise deadly AOE that the boss could use because it eliminated the randomness of their positions.

      Here's a spicy take.
      There has not been any actual full releases in a number of years from any AAA game studio. Pre-orders offering 'head starts' are just close betas desperately seeking feedback before it goes to open beta, with the rest of the game being added in via DLC/patches over time. Outriders, Cyberpunk, etc etc. All the publishers are wanting quick bucks.

      @@Poojawamanthing My guess is that the scope of modern AAA game is so vast that studios would lose a lot of money hiring the necessary amount of QA staff to iron out the bugs before release. Instead, like you said, they use the players as free QA labor instead, both saving hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars, and also normalizing the release of clearly unfinished games. The best part is that the players already bought the game, removing then incentive for developers to fix them.

    "window-dragging" was an issue of the past. As an MMO gamer myself, the last MMOrpg I can remember where Window-dragging exploiting was a real thing was... Dark age of Camelot...
    That is how far back some of these issues and exploits originate from, and Amazon are just plainly dropping the ball showing they are fresh of the buss into the MMO genre.
    Putting a coint or house key in your keyboard to not get automated kicked from a game server, and now window dragging exploiting to standing on pvp capture points. Are we back in the early 2000s? Amazon need to hire some MMO experience to their NW team, as they are quite litterally 20 years behind as it seems.

      Lumberyard (the game engine of New World) was built on top of the old and defunct CryEngine from the early 2000's
      The flaws that made CryEngine unusable for MMO's are in Lumberyard. Probably why Lumberyard is now also defunct and out of use (except in New WOrld of course).

However, it most definitely is defunct and discarded because it is garbage and no longer used in any game since 2018. Its use in Star Citizen (which began in 2016 as I mentioned) is a laughably awful example to try and contradict me with.
      Lumberyard was the core problem that caused the failure of Breakaway and Crucible, and is the core issue (along with incompetent devs) as to why New World is in such a disasterous state. Lumberyard is not an engine that is suitable for an MMORPG, just as CryEngine wasn't. Just wait wait until 2095 when Star Citizen goes into "soft release". The gaping holes and weaknesses of Lumberyard/CryEngine will destroy whatever is left of Chris Robert's scam project (assumiong Chris Roberts has not skipped the country to avoid prosecution for fraud by then).

    To emphasize what this means, this means you can PvE tank something for a group forever. I will admit I dunno how aggro works in New World but if it's just 'closest target gets it' this is EXTREMELY abusable.

      Yes. If you have a dot or persistent area build, you can kill anything without taking damage other than letting go to refresh. If you set it to a hotkey like Josh's friend in the original video on this, you don't even need the skill to menu and click quickly; you can just set a hotkey to refresh your effects, dodge, and vibrate the window. Good thing there's no Diablo-esque Auradin builds in this game, eh?

    Honestly, as someone who studied Game Development back at Uni, I can confirm that this is one of the relatively early things they teach you- client-side auth/processing like this just opens you up for an amazing amount of exploitation. Would have thought given their previous game attempts and big money, they'd have developers who should know that and the risks involved..

      Wouldn't the alternative (client side calculation of I-frames) just make the game feel much laggier? like, you dodged out of the way but the game damaged you anyway because the request didnt make it to the server in time?

      @@lelandwhitehead56 That’s why I imagine it works this way, except it goes against the necessities of the game being an MMO, where client side work needs to be kept at arm’s length at least somewhat. Some streamer said a while back that Dark Souls style perfect dodging shouldn’t be a thing in an mmo, but I think they were referring to your example of latency making the game feel bad, not exploitation.

    As a software developer, the issues you are currently exploiting using Window mode will probably be fixed within the next few weeks.
    The flaws in the design that allowed this to happen, can be exploited in far worse ways. You have shown that you can tell the server you took no damage from those attacks.
    If it’s not done already, I’d expect a cheat program that can send the server that message whenever you need it to within a week.
    If you can do this in pvp, invincibility hacks where you can still attack the enemy are days away.
    Fixing the fundamental flaws could take years, and could require them to change the fundamental mechanics of the game.
    Best case scenario, they have to move a significant amount of computation to the server, and this will introduce some lag/latency to combat, that you will likely be able to notice if you know what you’re looking for.
    It’s also possible that could be more than the server can handle, they may have to, e.g. permanently reduce the logged in player cap on all of their servers so the server can keep up with the calculations it now needs to do.
    Or, it just won’t be possible to fix, because the very fundamentals of the combat style may be reliant on calculations that are not feasibly done on the server, due to the latency being unbearable, or simply too complex for the server to handle with any reasonable server population.
    This is Bad. Very, very bad.

      @@MeldinX2 Another programmer here. This isn't a case of lack of testing. It's a case of fundamentally flawed game architecture, which shouldn't have happened at all. It's the sort of thing an experienced developer would take one look at during planning and call out as being a problem. The fact they went forward with this architecture shows either a severe lack of expertise among the technical leadership, the devs fundamentally not caring, or (my guess) a significant disconnect between the people with technical expertise and the people calling the shots (who I bet aren't tech people) aka mismanagement.

      @Helen Keller I assume it was fixed by making the attacking client tell the server it's doing damage instead of the defending client having to tell the server it's taking damage or something.
      Otherwise I don't see why this issue would persist in PvE. Seems like an architectural issue. The server should be the one to decide if damage is taken, not the client. Flawed design. I'm a programmer who's never worked in video games and I know that so I really don't understand how AGS engineers (a game studio) made such a weird design choice.

    I have a question. Is this (and the bugs/exploits/etc of other recent games coming from other studios) a symptom of:
    1. lack of imagination from playtesters (whose job it is to not just test the game, but try to break it in every way possible)?
    2. lack of budget ($$$, Time, or other for playtesting time to find all these possible bugs/exploits/breaks)?
    3. lack of attention/care from the studio itself?
    4. all of the above?

      From gamedev horror stories a lot of places have "play testers" who do nothing but robotically follow a script over and over to check a box that the interaction was "tested". so you might spend a few hours buying each item from a shop one by one, then doing it all over again, and never ever be allowed to alt-tab right after you click 'buy' to see if the item shows up but your money doesn't leave.

    Game developer here (not for AGS). A client authoritative architecture was not an accident and was chosen on purpose. It's much easier to build, it allows immediate feedback to the user without round trip time, and it saves a tremendous amount of processing power (aka server costs) not having to validate every action. At a certain large company, we found only 3% of client actions were actually invalid due to cheaters. That's a whole lot of processing power spent on validating actions that didn't need to be validated. If you don't have an economy where players can trade or combat with each other or means of one cheating player affecting others players experience, then there's no problem with this type of architecture.
    However, it seems AGS thought they could get away with this in an MMORPG, which is completely a fantasy. Normally this sort of thing takes time to be discovered by the hacker community before tools start appearing. With the number of bugs in the client though, it gives any player the ability to abuse it without special client modifications. This architecture decision is not something fixable or patchable. They can fix the bugs that make it easy for normal users to cheat (like dragging the window) but they can't fix the inevitable tools that others will write to completely abuse the game.

      Absolutely. Give it a month tops we'll see Cheat Engine programs for this game. This MMO doesn't have much a life left now. Players finding out it's client-side will bring in the exploiters that will be the end of the game.

      I played Cyberpunk on PC on release, I honestly can't see why is the game bad, it was one of the best and most immersive games I've played last year.
      If you compile all the bugs from different people into a video, sure, the game will look like a mess, but in my playtrough I only got an immersion breaking bug, but never a game breaking bug. Any Bethesda game comes out way way worse than Cyberpunk.
      However, I know the cyberpunk console versions are awful, and yes, that's on the dev, but the PC version, that was amazing.

    why do you assume "both enemies stop attacking me" its just as likely you extended the invulnerability frame for the duration of the freeze and they continued to attack you just took no damage ?

    I was so into this game farmed gold crafting gathering etc was loving it. now its been almost 2 weeks, been playing monster hunter world for the first time and forgot that this game was even thing. Dont have a burning desire to play it again thank god it was gifted to me.

      Yo Monster Hunter World is amazing.
      It's given me more hours then any other game besides Minecraft and Terraria, but those are sandbox games with hundreds of mechanics and items so that makes sense.

    The bleed didn't do any damage either. So dot effects are also negated by s. This glitch aside that means if you time your roll with the dot ticks you won't take any damage from them?

      Regardless of the issues the game is still easily worth the one time $40. This isn't cyberpunk, you can still enjoy and play the game for 100-200 hours without ever even experiencing this issue. The problem lies in the longevity of the game, will problems like this and others be addressed and resolved quickly enough for people to actually want to stay and play for months and years to come?

    I dont think the enemies stop attacking you during the roll. Its that the last thing the server recieves from you is that you are invulnerable due to the s so it just assumes you have a MASSIVE until you reenter the game

      I dont play new world so i dont know the dynamic here but i noticed the first enemy that he 50%d after he did the really long hold was back at 100%. Do enemies naturally regen or is it possible it pseudo reset like evade bugging in WoW?

      When he unpauses around 5:09 you can see the enemy is not facing towards him and has to turn around and resume attacking him, so it may actually be that they stop attacking.

      It's even worse. The enemies don't stop attacking, and the server thinks you're losing HP. But once you unfreeze your game, your HP is restored back to when you first froze the game. It's as if the server is the one that's lagging and your client is making the decisions.

      based on the fact that he immediately changes position and so do the enemies, my guess is that his character is being pushed by the enemies' attacks but he's not taking any damage.

    worked on input validation for an Ubisoft MMO; this might be caused by a big issue in the architecture or by a small glitch in the implementation of dodge; honestly, nobody in the right mind working on an online game would send a damage "request" to the player; the server probably just messed up the dodge state and that might be somewhat easy to fix; it is really easy to make programming mistakes on the server if the client could just drop at any point of code execution

    What’s this look like if someone else in game was watching your character? Are you sure the enemies stop attacking? Or does your character just pause in the middle of the roll like the mid air exploit? Or do they continue but just stand still invulnerable because the game thinks you’re still invulnerable?

      They're mad they spent money sight unseen on a shit product and refuse to accept that once again they were bamboozled in an industry filled with more dishonest scams and crooked businessmen than politics. The fact alone that Amazon appointed one of the development heads as someone from their Books division that knew nothing about video games, game design or even how to tell concept mockups from a proper product that lead to mass walk-out from a number of serious talents that Amazon paid out the nose to hire for their skill, that should be all you would need to know to predict the trajectory for this game. They have no business in the gaming industry. The last game they attempted, Crucible, took 6 years of work only to shut down in 5 months. They are far from ready to release anything massively multiplayer but they're so fucking greedy to milk twitch integration metrics they'll pour money into the highest spec shovelware ever produced under the belief that the gaming audience is just retarded and will bite onto whatever they're given hook, line and sinker without any concern over the actual quality or lifespan of the product they're given so long as it just ticks the mysterious 'hot property' check boxes of whatever is popular titles on twitch.
      It's transparent, ignorant dollar chasing by a company that doesn't have the first fucking idea what they're doing but are blindly hoping to rake in cash hand over fist by appealing to flavour of the month content that they can link into all their other services. I hope they just give up and shut down the entire game development studio because they'll never get it right.

    5:25 try your luck with tanking a boss maybe ? Use some kind of hate increasing item /gear so you keep it on you? Idk.. it's worth a test.

      Wouldn't work. Threat is 1 to 1 on damage modified by the Carnelian.
      So even a best case scenario of 1k damage is 2500 Threat.
      But a full DPS player will hit for that in 2 hits, meaning if you aren't constantly attacking and blocking, you will lose threat.
