Hello! There are different ways to dance salsa :) two common and popular ways are salsa on 1, which is what you mentioned, and salsa on 2, which is what I teach. Depending on where you live, one way might be more common than the other.

It would be easier to learn the arm moves with a basic salsa where the lady starts on one with the right foot back (which is the common way, right?)
